Even though he what is over 200 horsepower down, there was no way he was going to have a chance after that burnout. It's obvious the driver in the mustang it's not experienced at runin the quarter mile. Big Smokey burnouts on street tires may look cool, but absolutely destroys your launch.

Lots of factors that come into play. One of them, it takes about a half second or less for the supercharger to really kick in. If he had gotten a better launch, he would have won. MOPAR fan or not, Dodge can build a monster of an engine.

The guy in the Mustang missed a shift big time in the 3rd race, enough to more than lose the advantage of the Charger sleeping at the green. The 6 speed in the Mustang is a weak point if you're going to drag race it; the ten-speed automatic is absolutely better and quicker for that.
