The Dallas Stars went up 4-0 over the first two periods of game 2 and nearly squandered another lead as the Avalanche rallied hard in the 3rd period. That and more in today's NHL hockey video!

Ok, I really wanted Eck to cover the Stars more, but I have changed my mind. Stars blow a lead, yes... but Avs allow 3-4 goals and have to try and claw back. The perspective lets you know what side someone is on 😂

Eh, when a team has a big comeback the story is pretty much always mostly about the comeback with minimal mention about the poor start. In this story it was about 10 seconds talking about the poor start and about 15 seconds talking about the blown lead/almost blown lead.

@jonmendelson1104 I agree, but when a team gets 0 coverage throughout the season on this channel (which I love and follow) and only video on Stars during round 1 is how Vegas "imploded", not how Stars took control, is a little disappointing. Now, round 2 comes around, and 0 credit to Dallas. Stars are up 2-1 now and I'm really curious if Eck will even make a video about it. Just my very biased venting lol

I’m a stars fan so obviously I’m biased but dude, no real comments at all or a video about how the avalanche a team with the 2nd best forward in the world and essentially the best defenseman in the world literally cannot stop their team from getting killed for 85% of the game. Idc about the Jamie Benn hit but you can’t seem to stop glazing the avalanche even when they go down 0-3 in one period 💀 but somehow hammer home the point of them scoring 3 on us.

Umm... Benn's hits can definitely get greasy, but i gotta call you out on that one Eck. That was shoulder to shoulder. That might get called in the regular season, but that wouldn't get called 10 times out of 10 in the playoffs. That hit is a "gotta keep your head up" moment, nasty but clean.

Watching the game, Benn's hit was a clean shoulder to shoulder hit, the follow through on the hit caused the contact with Toews head as he was going down from the original hit. The multiple angles shown, on the broadcast, made that very clear. Don't forget, the replay room in Toronto is reviewing these games, as they occur.

This is one of those weird moments where I saw it in real time and thought it was dirty. Read your comment, watched it back frame by frame... and then realized I was wrong. All the force hits like his collar bone area and causes his head to whip as a result. It's REALLY close to being a head hit, but really close isn't a penalty.

I’ll reference the Marchand hit the other knight where Bro snuck in a right jab during the hit. Watching live, it didn’t look dirty but from another angle and later on we can see he snuck in a jab to the dome.

You can't penalize someone for height difference. Benn is tall and Toews is not so tall. If the hit occurs will be at head height. This is not targeting the hard.

Watching this after Game 3 is so funny. Everyone thinks the Avs are elite and yet if it wasn't for 1 blown game (which Dallas almost one on 2 or 3 chances in OT, BTW), Dallas would be up 3-0. Stars are finding a way to beat the Avs despite their top guys performing well.

Toews is almost crawling he's so low. Is Benn supposed to lay on the ice to be allowed a hit? I know Benn made a dirty cross-check in last years playoffs but he's been much more reasonable this year and it's not fair to keep re-adjudicating based on a hit (for which he WAS already suspended) a year ago. The hit was fine.

I feel like the types of goals scored in the West playoffs (more from distance) are different from those in the East. The West seems like there's way more space, less hitting, and more bounces that turn into goals.

Yeah I don't know if the playing style is different. I did take averages from the 2020 playoffs and noticed the average of goals per game in the West was higher in the East. I'm curious if altitude plays a role in the scoring aspect.
