Most of the sweetest people I’ve met during my lifetime have all been black. I always try to extend them a certain level of respect, gratitude, & understanding because of our history in the US. I want black families to thrive as they did in the 1940s. We whites were awful, but black folks still had their own farms, banks, schools, infrastructure, economy…. Most importantly, the families stuck together in a loving commitment to raise their children. Something changed after integration, & instead of the black dollar staying within the black community, all of their power got absorbed by the larger white power structure. I just don’t know what the answer is at this point, I’m not a “woke democrat”, I just think treating one another like Brothers & Sisters is a good place to start.
