HE LOOKS SO GOOD! I really really love the new wig. I thought the old one looked great but this one has some more volume, which I'm a huge fan of!
Zhai Xiaowen could look good in any outfit and any wig, so I was never concerned hahah :)

It's kinda like the Untamed tbh, I mean their costumes and hair were different from the donghua but imo it still looked good! I think this hairstyle suits him better and he seems happier in it too XD❤❤

Jiang Cheng looks completely different in the live action than in the manhwa and donghua, but it’s still recognizably the character. It’s all about what looks good in the medium in question.

and to everyone upset over the costumes still, I really don't think they'd start truly filming this early and these are most probably just tests still and they'd finalize things later, either way the actors look really nice and seem happy to be filming it and that's all that matters

They actually changed them! For San Lang at least they added more detail and made it look less like cloth put together. Also the first ones were unfortunately not test lol. They heard the backlash of the fans and changed it up like they did with the hair. They are making improvements based on what fans think of them. They even changed the makeup (the makeup could have been a test though) but overall I don’t know if the changed xie lians outfit but I think I saw little details that are different. Either way they look very good now!

I think it's actually their real costumes but in process to be adjusted everyday. What we saw the first day is the base of their costumes, they are probably gonna cut the length, add details and sew things depending on how it looks on the screen, that's why the actors need to wear them and move with them while staff members are taking photos and filming to see how it looks on screen and what needs to be changed or added :)

@@sparklight0964 they look so cheap and poor quality. bl adaptations usually don't have that much budget, so sometimes outfits can look wonky but this is just too much.

Omg I'm so glad! 😆 that other wig might've been more accurate to the image we have of Xie Lian from the donghua and manhua. But it just didn't look natural! It didn't look like real hair. And although I commend the people in the production for trying to give us a look more accurate to what we're used to. I commend them even more for realizing this just wasn't going to work out, and giving us a wig that suits the actor better. And suits a live action adaptation better. I mean it's only logical. Not everything from a medium translates well into another medium. Things for the live action adaptation can't just be a copy of the donghua or manhua. Not everything will work out like that. Anyways, I guess this is what these tests are for. They went for it and realized it didn't work. And now they have course corrected. And this looks SO much better!

I haven't thought like with many shows that have different adaptations: Something cool about the different details adaptation can have is that make each version unique. Like the case of the wig, it gives LiveAction XL his own essence, independent from other adaptations. I like that!

I’m so looking forward to this live action!!! 🥰❤️ I like the new wig it does fit the actors face better. And since they are deviating from the original story I don’t mind that he doesn’t look EXACTLY like the Xie Lian from the Manhua and Dohua. This will be my first C drama live action too! 😊

WoH is proof that you can achieve a wonderful result with a small budget, if you focus on the right things and hire the right crew+actors. They chose inexperienced or lesser known but very talented and dedicated people, which kept the costs down, and spent the money on the things that would make it look as good as possible. (Legend of Fei, sadly, is an example of how you can have a huge budget and well-known actors and still make the end result look like crap.)

I love the new wig! And I agree, volume is everything when it comes to hair and I like that both Xie Lian and Hua Cheng have bangs. They look amazing. It's better for the live action to change details, just like The Untamed has different hair styles from the donghua and manhua. And the most important thing is that the actors look handsome XD

Yes, they made a very good decision. He is handsome but come on, we all know that this new hairstyle suits him wayyy better 🤗 and Kictor, I think by the time this drama gets released it will already be 2022. So why not watch some Chinese Drama while you wait. Immortality (2HA Live action) will be released this year. I want you to watch it and make some review videos. I like this wig much better! I agree that it frames his face better and looks more natural while the last one just felt like it was a wig sitting on top of his head if that makes sense (it just wasn’t right for his face shape). I’m so excited for Hua Cheng, I love the wig!

I really do love their wigs. And the new one fits his face even better. I am very eager to see the difference between Hua Cheng and San Langs hair. I always forget that you haven't watched The Untamed, yet. God, I was stareing at their hairlines the whole time. And Immortality the LA for 2ha (Dumb Husky with his white cat shizun) is next level of wigs and volume. Ahhh~ you got me rambling...

I'm so excited for the LA, and I'm really curious to see all the ways the adaptation is going to unique from the novel, donghua, and manhua (though I didn't mind the original wig personally). I wonder if they're going to use a lighter veil on the hat though- it seems like it might make filming more difficult in some parts because it's not as transparent as it could be. I love the belt they added for San Lang though!
