It seems God wanted you to hire a lawyer! (I have also mentioned in many comments in your videos that you need to hire a lawyer) Also you should make a quick trip to the US to get your status confirmed on arrival. THE FIRST ENTRY AFTER GETTING A VISA IS VERY IMPORTANT. You can then leave and enter at will (Check with your lawyer) and finish your packing and moving. In case something happens, you want to get the entry recorded on your passport as soon as possible after you get the visa. You can give your wife’s family’s address as your address for now and change it with the immigration people as soon as you have your own address,

Wonderful news. God is always faithful to answer our prayers. I am also in this same process. I was approved for the Green Card after a year of waiting, but to be able to immigrate from Italy to the US I also need a US visa. I applied and now they want so much more information from me. So far, I am two years into this process and it's far from over. I am aware that I will have the same challenge as you did and I will be applying for a waiver on the same foundation. Now I am thinking I should find a lawyer as well. Was your lawyer in the US? Because I am 75 now, this has been a very strenuous process. I even have a granddaughter who was born two years ago that I have never met. But I am leaning on the Lord. 🙂God bless you Simeon. I am so happy for you and your family.

Simeon, I am so very happy for you, Alex, and the kids. I know your have worked very hard to have this happen. I know how it can feel. It took me over three years to find and then complete the purchase of my new property in Sweden. Maybe this is the nature of a fair exchange. You are taking all that you love to the US and I am doing the same by going from near where Alex grew up and moving to Sweden. I think that the only thing to remember is to never give up and when you get to where you are going, contribute all that you are to that new place. Lycka till och gå med Gud.
