So happy I stumbled upon your channel. I’m 41 so the nostalgia level hits the roof. Lol. That GameCube/Coke thing was a riot, I knew you were gonna end it with the Coke logo. Lol. The easiest way to tell if comics are old is by their cover price, less than 40 cents is pre 1980, $1.25 is pre 1990, and $2.95 is pre 2000. They're called Indoor Flea Markets or Antique Malls in Ohio. A great movie I enjoyed as a kid, and still holds up, is The Private Eyes with Tim Conway and Don Knotts.

Dog and Suds was a brand of root beer we used to buy back in the late 80's and early 90's. I just remember finding them in big brown glass bottles at places like Kmart, Wal-Mart, and some of the local farm stores. Not sure if they ever had a restaurant or not. If they did we never had any local to us here in Southern Illinois.
@werdna3891
@werdna3891 Жыл бұрын
They started off as a restaurant chain here in Illinois. Some are still around. Way more of a real deal place than A&W. In the early 90s, the brand licensing was sold and they started selling the root beer in stores. So if you see it, grab some! If anybody has a Marianos store by them, they carry the root beer. And its amazing!!!
@looselycollected7505
@looselycollected7505 Жыл бұрын
We used to buy a lot of root beer back then. And we always looked for stuff in glass bottles. It tastes better. The reason is there is vegetable oil used as a mold release on the plastic bottles. Even after a wash the bottle still has oil in it. Plastic has pores even if you can't see them. So the oil seeps out into the soda. You can see a rainbow haze on soda when it reflects light. That's the oil. And you can taste it. The glass bottles don't do this. For the same reason Coke tastes better out of a glass bottle. But all of that is neither here nor there now. I'm type 2 and had to give up most soda. I keep around a few stevia sweetened sodas now. But it's not the same. Grow up. Grow old. Get bent and broken and have to give up lots of stuff.

I loved “Scary stories to tell in the dark”! It was one of the most frequently banned books do to the sheer disturbing nature of the artwork (and unfortunately, it’s still being banned in some areas) In fact, the art was SO controversial that they re-released the books with different artwork, at which point the original books went way up in value. They’ve since returned to the original art, but I still would have picked up the book for nostalgic reasons

I like how Rick actually uses the word 'resell' or 'reseller' without any negative connotation. There's a group of collectors out there that truly hate people who flip their purchases so they can fund their game collection. They will brand you 'reseller' or 'dealer' and tend to be very hostile.
