It's weird that people criticized Saints Row 1&2 for being too similar to GTA and then criticized 3&4 for being too sci-fi and comical.

I never saw why people criticized 1&2 for "being like GTA", people will see a game with guns and cars and immediately say "GTA CLONE!" Like idiots, because they can't understand the differences. Saints Row is nothing like GTA, just because it has gangs and guns doesn't mean they're similar, and that applied even before 3. The first two games are actually great, the second one is literally in my top 5 games of all time because of the story and gameplay being so good, nothing is boring(besides from escort missions), while in 3, barely any of the activities are fun, and for some reason they decided to make Shaundi an annoying bitch who's always talking about how mad she is about Johnny's death, even though the ONE interaftion they had before this game was just Johnny telling her to listen tk the boss speaking. And the worst thing of all, THE WORST THING OF ALL, they got rid of Johnny's Cauliflower cut, that is just downright evil.

I think SR2 was the perfect GTA clone Doesn't take itself too seriously Somewhat grounded in reality which makes ragdolling around at 300mph or sending people into the upper atmosphere with a foam middle finger that much more funny SR1 was mid asf tho

@@koraegiSR1 was mid af is so out of pocket 😂 1s narrative was better start to finish and gameplay is basically 1:1 with SR2. SR2 had crazy moments but the weight of the twists really aren't that heavy. Like we get 3 missions with Carlos before they kill him. And Natasha's character was basically only fleshed out in SR1 and without playing that I don't see how anyone could gaf about her death in SR2. I also think SR2 is better, i think the missions are more fun, the gangs are better but not by much, the map is improved and the cribs, customization and purchasing things like cars and businesses is very satisfying (probably my favorite game) but SR2s story barely works at all if you haven't played SR1 and again the gameplay is basically the same.

Peak saints row. Going to the zombie island armed with nothing but the penetrator and trying to survive, collecting and storing unique vehicles, fun gunplay, silly but still somewhat grounded. Love it

I feel like Saints Row peaked with 2. It was a great combination of seriousness and goofiness. It balanced actual heartfelt story moments with insane things like driving around a college campus and leaving a trail of fire behind you. SR3 feels like a completely different series, and a parody of itself, and 4 was just terrible. I wish they could go back to how SR2 was, and maybe go back to Stilwater, but remake it so it feels like an actual living city. As opposed to the dead desert of the newest Saints Row.

I think one the only things which annoyed me was you couldn’t replay missions Besides the dlc ones Heck the Remaster didn’t even add anything and I think most forgot that even existed

I remember pre ordering the collectors edition, that came with an auto tune headset, that you could use on your cell phone.... Stopped working like two days later, was mad .

i liked the worlds in 3 and 4 a they're a little bland but i think they're fun. and in 4 you get to see parts of other places in memories/simulations of the past i think it was pretty cool.

Saints row 3 is a movie you’re playing a movie which is why the tone is so different to saints row 1-2 saints row 4 is when they went too far imo

what do you mean by went too far? i get its a complete departure from 1 and 2 but i still loved it lol. and i never felt like 2 was super serious with the guy that came back to life a bunch of times till you behead him. and the activities where you spray crap all over. its pretty silly too, gats invincible and we have an action movie sword fight then jump out of a burning building. its pretty over the top i think. the storylines of the characters are all continued in 4 and i felt like was well done.

💥💥I love Saints Row 1 and Saints Row 2. When Saints Row the 3rd was announced. I was going to buy it until I saw the trailer and how goofy it was. That's when i jumped off the Saints Row train, they started getting way too Goofy and sci-fi and over the top plus they wasn't even in the same city anymore. I was like I'm out of here. The only Saints Row games that matter to me is Saints Row 1 and 2 that's it.

SRTT is my 2nd seed behind the reboot in terms of favorite games. It's so fun and the right amount of over the top while still having really tough moments throughout the game.

i like all of em cant relate to preferring one over the other i think the progression of these games is one of the most unique in gaming. i started playing at 2 so i cant really speak to 1 but each game has its own vibe while still maintaining the spirit of saints row imo. 2 is awesome so is 3 and 4 and all the dlc really adds to the games with fun little things. gat out of hell was awesome i think it was just super undercooked and small couldve used so much more content and an actual story mode. still liked it though thats how much i like the superpower gameplay.

Take off the nostalgia goggles this game is worse than sr4. Half the main missions were just the activities, the game is shorter than its predecessor that came out years before, and not to mention them removing gat and making shaundi insufferable. Seriously dont know why they made the decision to leave her bitter as hell as if she knew johnny longer than the boss lol.
