Oh and also when he refuted criticism with "i have patents", he meant "i have no argument so i'm gonna appeal to some form of authority even though having patents on shapes mean absolutely nothing because just like having patents on the shape of the coca cola bottle doesn't mean it makes the liquid inside magic". I had a friend with schizophrenia and his antics, way of speaking, even body language is eerily similar to what terrence shows here. He went on long rants about the weirdest stuff using lots of difficult words wrong. When he learned to use the internet, back in 2005, he discovered conspiracy theories and his disease just skyrocketed. He became unbearable to hang around because the only thing he wanted to talk about was fake moon landings and such and he would just. not. stop. talking about it. I can _easily_ see terrence going around the iron man set talking non stop about his 'theories and truths' to such a degree it would become unbearable to work with him. Schizophrenia is a highly misunderstood disease. The hallucinations aren't usually visual, nor audiotory. Most commonly they manifest as this. Wild, incoherent theories. Worst part about this disease is that to terrence we all seem crazy for not believing his theories. Just as crazy as we see him. It's wery hard to treat, because the psychiatrist very often seems insane to the schizophrenic.
@Jamesucht

could be bi-polar. Manic episodes can lead to extremely high confidence and wildly outlandish "discoveries" such as this.
@aarondavis8943
@aarondavis8943 25 күн бұрын
I've seen schizophrenia up close over a period of years and it wasn't really like this. You'd really have to know what he's like in everyday life to know. If his thinking is chaotic and impedes his life profoundly, if his friends and family have noticed striking changes in his behaviour, if he believes in nonsensical scenarios which are more proximate to everyday life, like he thinks there are little men in the cupboard, or demons living in the walls, _then_ you could plausibly make that diagnosis. The problem with making that judgement with what we have is that all of his claims are made within the realm of theoretical physics, which is by its nature strange. So he could be just an arrogant guy taking flights of fancy in the world of what _he thinks_ is physics, perhaps while manic. I tend to agree with @Jamesucht, that bipolar disorder could be closer to the mark but we can't know. Because we only really get to see him in one particular context.
@karlkarlsson9126
@karlkarlsson9126 25 күн бұрын
I don't think schizophrenia or bi-polar, as he seems to smoke a lot, my guess is a paranoid personality disorder. It's when you start to create these false ideas that people are trying to stop you for example, the "mainstream" or the government is trying to stop you from finding out the real "truth", etc. The good thing here is that it's about science and math and not Religion for example, since math is really independent. The thing with Terrence Howard though is that he is actually gifted with the ability to understand math and physics more so then the average person, but that just puts himself into a position where he goes wandering off.

It's so difficult to try and engage with a conspiracy theorist, a whacko, etc... You have to approach with such tentative skepticism and discord when you challenge their ideas. They've already been so strongly ridiculed and mocked otherwise that it drives them deeper into their own delusions. I feel like Terrence is straight up too far gone though, the dude has simply lost his mind lol
