OMFG, I cried when I first watched this. JK was so hurt you could tell. It was sad to watch but also very inspiring. I know here in the States a lot of celebrities would have done anything to get out of this. I am so proud of our boys for being noble and sticking by their responsibilities. It's truly hard to describe what it feels like to have watched BTS debut in June 2013, falling in love with them in 2014 during Danger and Dope, to the point where I abandoned ALL the big k-pop groups I was watching and have been 100% ARMY ever since. Those were some tough years, but also carefree, joyful years filled with laughter and love. I was an original Beatles fan in the 60s. Yes, I'm that old! I've loved music for more than six decades but it took BTS to take me back to the euphoria of being a Beatles fan when I was 11-15 years old. This was bigger, better, more intense, more intimate, and more personal at every level. I've loved some damn fine music in all the years since the 1960s but NEVER loved the people behind the music as I have loved BTS. I drove friends crazy starting in 2015. It was only "BTS, BTS, BTS" for me. I got myself to the 2017 BBMAs for that first American win, then to the AMAs, then the 2018 and 2019 BBMAs, interspersed with concerts following for a total of seeing them 11 times in person. My heart was bursting with pride at every moment! Through Namjoon's speech at the UN on September 6th, 2018, and then seeing them in their very first US Stadium concert at CitiField, their first Grammy nomination, their collective tears at 2018 MAMA, the UN again, the White House, more Grammy noms. I have not missed a thing since 2013. Rather than being sad about Jin now (although I will miss him terribly and my heart aches for the other members missing him), it is such a logical progression since 2013 that all I feel is immense pride, understanding, support and devotion to all seven of them throughout the time ahead until we see them together in 2015. Imagine that moment!!!!!!

I'm really hopeful and praying for Jin and the rest of them when they go. To also add on to what you said about them being treated poorly due to who they are. As much as it sucks, most likely they will be treated poorly in some instances, a lot of idols are. For example, Jimin's friend, Taemin has about a few months left as he left in 2021, but he had to switch to public service instead of being apart of the boot camp due to the harassment which gave him depression and anxiety. So he's currently doing military public service, last thing I saw was him in the military band. I wish in general idols can be seen as just regular people and just serve how they want to without ignorant interference.

Saddens me every time I see Jin leaving the others. He has to be wishing at times he was back with the members as well as them wishing he was back with them. He has a good attitude and I'm sure he will do well. We have six more to go and I'm afraid it isn't going to get easier, for me at least. That video made me cry that day....I cried all night long until I got sleep... Considering that Seok Jin is the person who I really love so much.... That hurt a lot... My thought was the military putting Jin on the front line, knowing how he gets easily jolted at loud, unexpected noises, which is something he can’t help. Have read he’s going to have extra security which is comforting to know. They’ve led a fairly cushy life for 10 years, so the military will definitely be a challenge in some ways. Jin has such a beautiful personality, hope the others in the military sees that as well. I miss him already. ❤

I am really worry about Jin as we all know he doesn’t like the cold weather and he needs to train in winter time , that will be really tough for him. I wish he will stay healthy and safe and be treated well. I miss him so much !

Ugh, Jungkook. My heart is so torn by this video. It's so devastating. He (and whether or not the information of the Maknae-Line going together is true, Jimin and Tae as well) might not see Jin until December 2025. And if they all go by themselves Jungkook might have to do this ceremony on his own, when he's the last to go. It's just heartbreaking. But hope dies last, so I really hope, Jin comes back on June 13th 2024 and JK (and maybe Vmin) can be send off by him We'll see. Korea Now is covering their/ his journey. Not meaning they will follow Jin but they are covering the general experience. They just did a piece on his first meal and what type of training he is going through and interviewed some military that just finished their 5 week training snd those that are going to be starting and knowing Jin will be there. I don't think, they're gonna get treated like celebrities. Nobody else was - why should they? I know, some might not wanna hear it but My best friend is a kpop multistan, so she went through it a lot and she told me, idols usually experience a really hard time. Because their uhh mates? (don't know military terms) invade their privacy and harress them because of their fame. Things get stolen a lot, people wanna make money out of information. So uh, yeah, this might become really nasty etc.

A video of the Korean 5 week training says they are given a number, so no one calls your by name, only your no. Probably for you to forget who you are when you enter the camp. So he is going to be treated like everyone one else. Let's hope the superiors aren't too harsh to everyone

I am Korean and am upset because of the outdated law and politicians who doesn't do their work. There is the military examption law made on 1970. Whoever wins the international competition prize get military examption. That means keep doing what you do it benefits the korea than them to serve military. They have ling list if the qulified competitions. Now it us about 43 including classical piano, korean traditional singing . These competition are not that important. Of course there is no billboard 100 or grammys. Who would expected koreans win those awards back then. Every year 43 award winner mostly classical instrument winners do not have to go to military. Korea goverment need to get notice how much BTS is benefiting to korea. I am really upset. If BTS is not recognized, who?

The korean army is no joke, storeis of abuse and etc. My co worker in Korea told me it was hell when he was training in the cold and I dont know how many people will try to befriend Jin and take advantage of him for 18 months. I can only pray for his health and safety.

It sucks the government sent him to the harshest place and one of the coldest place out of all stations just next to the border of north korea to train and high possibility he will be stationed there and sorry but I'm still salty they exempt sport athletes, a famous violinist and famous pianist and the current president and minister didnt even went to do military because both of them have some sort of bone problem and eye problem and multiple politician children not doing military and when called out the son of one of the politician exempt from military because he have some sort of blood problem but he constant post him skydiving, golfing, and hiking and when back then some people noticed they respond "he recovered" How the hell you recover blood problem and if he wasn't guilty why he delete his posts during sports? Just huge corruption and I hope there is no harassment towards Jin and bts members because that is not uncommon just last year (actually two years ago) there was some kind of ongoing bullying where they leaked one celebrity private checkup and pictures and info. That celebrity tried to make friend but he was used he constantly buy them food etc just want to make friends but they all ignored him and stare at him in showers etc and leak private info online. And it is not uncommon korean president will make them sing during military without saying no when a famous korean comedian later was revealed the south korean president make him sing political songs non stop (because he have to do the same thing as other people but at the SAME TIME he have to perform and write a song for them) in which he was payed none because in military all money you earn goes to military and he was basically overworked.
