Jin revealed in Suchwita that Chris actually change that part jst before the concert the part where they sang together thats not actually part of his stage performance but chris suggested it so its nice and iconic..he also revealed that he's so nervous that time because its not his stage and his singing with different band and he is not use to the stage arrangement and that his in ear is not working properly he cannot hear his voice well but its good that he still performed his song well and enjoyed it..he so professional 🥰

As much as I love this live version it doesn't do Jin's vocals justice. In this official video there sounds like there is backtracking but when you watch fancams from the concert you can hear only Jin's live vocal.

Jin could barely hear HIMSELF from the crows screaming! XD The end there when they slipped it's because Jin was singing with no track in his in ears, just air sound. He is not used to that so he was nervous.

What drew me to BTS was their 100% humbleness!

As ARMY and a Jin bias, I couldn't watch this for awhile. This was his parting gift to us, and being the first to go in, we were all really in shambles. He was nervous coming out with Coldplay on their stage, but he wanted to give us this. Still gets me., like this was hard for ALL of us but so precious.

Did you know that Jin was unwell (it had something to do with his throat/windpipe) days before this stage performance and his voice was still a tad not fully recover. Also, The Astronaut was dropped 48 hours before this performance and see how the audience was able to sing along already! I cannot love it more how Jin/BTS and Chris/Coldplay are together 💜🥰💜

This performance is pure joy! I’m so excited to hear what Jin brings us for his solo album. And yes, he is such a delightful, humble person and a huge talent.

I can't wait to hear whatever we get from him, I'm personally trying to manifest a rock album because I think his silver vocals would shine in that genre. But either way I know that it will be great no matter the genre. This performance was such an amazing gift. Chris offered Jin the opportunity to perform this on his concert so Jin traveled for 30 hours from Korea to Argentina so he could perform his goodbye song before enlisting. I love their chemistry on stage and how happy he looked being able to perform it.

You are not miss hearing Chris was harmonousing in Korean it's not the first time he's sound in Korean with BTS he's a huge fan and even gave one of his guitars to Jin as a present. He's also defended BTS on a number of occassions against rude people.

Thank you Sam for reviewing ‘The Astronaut’ a song written to show his love for Army. You are quite right about him being an under used singer in BTS, in the beginning it was due to him having never sung before and eventually his lines increased, though even recently in most of BTS songs he gets the least lines. That is a production choice, though many say the group itself chooses, but if so why does he get more lines in their concerts? I think that is the groups choice and also because live he is dependable and on point and gives a great performance. You are correct in regard to his personality as well, he is known in Korea as the ‘Manner Idol’ because of his humbleness and manners. He is the shyest and quietest off stage and behind cameras but on stage he loves it and thrives, and in their variety show ‘Run BTS’ his fun personality shines through. He found it difficult at first to get the right voice for this song as it is a Cold Play style of song and he ended using more of his lower register which surprised many but which people loved. One of the songs that show his versatility in all ranges is his OST ‘Yours’ best viewed watching the original Drama ‘Jirisan ‘ mv clip. The emotion he brings into this sad song is amazing to the point I have watched a few male reviewers cry listening to it. I think because he has a degree in acting that he actually uses that knowledge with his voice to portray the emotion of the songs😅. His songs ‘Abyss’ and ‘Tonight’ highlight his high notes and falsetto and are worth a listen even if you have no time to review them so you see his ability. This is why this song touched so many Army’s as he wrote it for us to let us know what we mean to him before his Enlistment. I am looking forward to his album and hope it contains the much awaited ballad from Suga. Thank you once again for your wonderful explanation on how he uses his voice and look forward to your review of our other boys solo projects all of which are vastly different. An early vocal coach of Jin said how actors learn vocalisation is very differently to how singers learn and this made it initially difficult first for Jin. I would love to hear your opinion on the differences maybe the next time you review one of his songs, it would be very interesting. Yes Chris does look at Jin like a proud dad and Jin is so baby when he’s with Chris it’s absolutely adorable. Background: Jin being the eldest of the group takes on the role of taking care of all his babies. This big brother thing is very prominent in Korean culture. But Jin is actually the baby in his own family and he is the most unserious hyung anyway. So it just melts my heart that Chris can be the hyung (older brother) to Jin and let him fully be his soft baby self 🥰 Also, I love your comments for Jin’s singing. I don’t think he gets enough credits for it (still) exactly because of its simplicity. Jin, as he himself describes, is a simple guy. He’s straightforward. As a result, he’s consistent, stable and reliable. His singing is always clean. No frills but it’s just so pretty! It’s grounded and therefore it’s comforting. Thank you for appreciating it for what it is. Jin is famous for his ability of belting the highest of notes in the most stable manners but for me it’s the more subtle aspects. His tone is always so pretty and bright. He’s blessed with a natural beautiful voice. There is this natural sweetness to his voice that makes me smile and he keeps it so clean so you get the best quality of it. It’s of good taste that he uses techniques to showcase his best tone rather than clouding it. You’re right. Jin is also very likable isn’t he? Again, he’s just this friendly simple guy you want to be friends with off the street. He’s a joker and he teases but he does it to make people feel at ease. He is very intentional about making people feel good. It just comes across and you can’t help but like him the way Chris Martin does. Jin just has that clean aura. Do check out Jin’s other solo songs, AWAKE, EPIPHANY, MOON and YOURS. He does get fewer lines in group songs sometimes but his solo songs often blow people’s mind and are hugely popular among the fandom just like this performance. His strength is conveying emotions. Some expert has said it, he approaches a song like a monologue in a drama probably of his acting background. (Jin studied acting in uni before being discovered to join the group). Epiphany live is a whole spiritual experience haha. Awake too. The way Jin holds the stage not with how bold he is but how quiet yet self-assured he is. That quiet confidence is so attractive and rare these days. It’s a dying art. No frills but just be so simply GOOD.

Thank you for your reaction. As has been mentioned this was Jin's goodbye to ARMY before going into the military. This live performance was done just one day after his MV dropped. You really should listen to Chris Martin's introduction and explanation before Jin comes out to sing. The MV is equally impressive in its production. Chris Martin, proud dad is right or brother. As he introduced Jin "our Brother from our Band of Brothers." Jin's Moon live performance is also worth a listen. Can't wait for him to get out. God I hope he doesn't re-enlist. LOL

the was a problem with hearing the track and when he was all the way out there. His earpieces and monitor were not the same... he struggled because of the crowd yelling too... but pulled it off beautifully. I believe Jin travelled something like 28 hours in a plane to get there... he wanted to leave it for Army before going to military service... did you watch the mv too? Chris is probably singing Korean... Have you watched My Universe? Chris flew to SK in the middle of the pandemic and had to wait like 2 wks before he could meet with BTS to record the song. He wanted to meet them. There are videos of that recording too. It was awesome. When Chris performs My Universe in his concerts he has the BTS members show up on the screen too. Notice the crowd singing along... this song was just out a few days earlier... and even across the world they know the lyrics already.

Jin flew 17 hours with very little notice when Chris asked him to launch the song at their show (written by Coldplay for Jin, yes Chris is on the track in Korean & English) just before entering the military. There is a behind the scenes that shows he had very little rehearsal time & Chris sprung that “just the two of them” bit on him just before show time and he had no rehearsal but being Jin he graciously agreed. I would recommend you find Chris’ introduction of Jin video. It’s eloquent, touching and very clear how much he and the band love all of BTS, but Jin is closest to Chris’ heart. Hope their will be more collabs when Jin is back, they sound great together.

Jin has explained that he crowd was so loud that he couldnt hear anything from his in ears, so it was very hard to be on the thrust stage, when he didnt exactly hear where the song was going 😅 And I think that happened with Chris also in the end. Taking that into the concideration, he did amazing ❤

Thank you Sam. I almost teared up when you spoke about Jin’s humility. He’s shy but loves the stage. Miss him a lot. I don’t know the technical speak but Jin said that on the small stage his in-ears had a delay cos he was far from the main stage. He’s used to that being adjusted in BTS concerts.

JIn said that Chris changed the song at the last minute and he was very nervous at that sudden change. I love the way he laughed at the mistake and just kept going. Chris wrote the song and gave it to Jin to sing as a farewell to ARMY just before he enlisted. Another song he wrote together with BTS was MY UNIVERSE it is really good and has a doco with it to show how they wrote and recorded it dui g the Pandemic.

I totally agree with you I too have seen singers/bands who are just doing another show and those like BTS who totally love what they do. It is so more of an experience for the audience when everyone is into what they are doing. Especially when it is BTS' stage they are so at home and it is a happening that you can even feel a part of on line. They all miss each other and performing especially together. Audio quality is much better in the Coldplay movie version and fan cams. I always prefer them over official videos when it comes to live singing, especially with Seokjin's vocals. Even Chris Martin's harmonising is clearly heard in them

I agree with you about the over use of riffs. I had a “discussion “ with my husband about this when we hear a cover of John Lennon’s Imagine. Hi Sam, thanks for this reaction ☺ If you haven't seen too much of Jin singing on his own,there's a few great solo songs he's done that you may not have heard (forgive me if you have done them previously, I'm fairly new to your channel 😁) - I'm guessing you might've done Epiphany already, but there's a song called Awake, which he wrote when he was feeling lonely after his pets died; one called Abyss, which PDBang encouraged him to write to get his feelings out during the pandemic; and a K-drama soundtrack song called Yours. They're all lovely & really showcase his voice - there's a live performance of Awake from the BTS Wings Tour (the best vid sound quality-wise I found is by "Queen") though not of the other two, but would be great if you could do a reaction to the recordings, thanks 😃👍

Bangtan TV released a making of video for this that is cute and Jin also spoke about it on Suchiwita with SUGA. If you have a chance, you should watch the introduction that Chris does for Jin just before he comes out on stage; it is SUPER sweet.

Chris knows that Jin has been the biggest fan of Coldplay out of all the BTS members. When Coldplay and BTS collaborated on My Universe, Jin was so thrilled, and everyone knew how special it was for him to meet Chris and Coldplay, and it's so great that Coldplay wrote and gave this song to Jin.

This one was such a warm and loving performance, he felt he needs to do something on stage before he enlisted for military service so he just decided to fly over 30 hours to Argentina just for this 3 minutes performance. and about the beginning of the performance he explained that when he was standing in the middle of the stage, the sound inside the earphones reached his ears with a little delay and he could hardly match it with behind track at the same time. sorry for my broken English I just wanted to thank you for making this video, ARMY loves and appreciates it so much. 💜💜💜

Jin has the kind of voice I always associate with tenors on Broadway: clear, clean, slightly more nasal than the other vocalists in BTS. I grew up listening to singers like that. Jin even used the word "clean" to describe his own voice in an interview. Jin's personal taste leans toward pop rock, so it'll be really interesting to see what his solo album will be like. Each solo release has brought a surprise, starting with j-hope incorporating head-banging metal into "MORE;" to "The Astronaut;" to RM's wildly electic Indigo; to "Set Me Free Pt 2" on Jimin's Face album. Suga took voice lessons and sang for "Amygdala;" V released the jazzy R&B that most suits his personal taste; and Jungkook went full pop star - entirely in English - for Golden. It's interesting that people often assume that Jimin is taking all the high notes, but if you watch carefully in live performances, he usually shares those parts with Jin. Jimin actually said when they were talking about the making of their album BE that Jin''s highest range was higher than his own, and Jungkook said in a different interview that Jin had the widest range of the four vocalists. I have no idea if that's true, but it's interesting to hear how they talk about each other's voices. Their voices are all so different and they use them together so well. Jin has an exceptionally memorable high part at the beginning of BTS' cover of Seo Taiji's "Come Back Home;" there's video recorded by a fan that shows him singing it live. I also personally love his part in BTS' Japanese song, "Let Go." In "Dionysus" I love the way he digs down deep in his range and then jumps straight to his falsetto to accompany j-hope and RM. His high notes when he backs up Jungkook in "Crystal Snow" are also notable, since he doesn't sing them in falsetto. When Jin hit his high notes near the beginning of "Zero O'Clock" in Busan, no one had any idea that he'd been sick and hoarse and barely able to speak only hours before. There's a clip from another video that shows him in the recording booth and working with Chris Martin to record "The Astronaut;" he talked about his thought process in singing the song. He said he tried singing it a number of different ways and landed on something that was partway between what he said was his usual style and the way he thought Coldplay would perform it. It's a brief look at how he was thinking about interpreting the song. There's also a video of his trip to Argentina that shows him practicing by himself in his hotel room, where you can hear him more clearly without the band and the crowd in the stadium.

Chris was harmonizing with Jin in Korean in that live performance. He always does, like in My Universe. The love he (and his band) has for Seokjin and BTS is just sooo admirable. Really looking forward to seeing them working/performing together again when Seokjin's back (in less than 4 months!!!)! Also, that performance video uploaded by BigHit, they did add a backtrack to it (I think to drown the very loud cheers in the background), but if you watch the fancams and the official video from Coldplay's Live Broadcast, you can hear Jin's live vocals very clearly and beautifully. Another thing that Jin said in Suchwita, was that the crowd's loud cheers overpowered the music in his in-ears that he couldn't hear it at all. Jin still did an excellent job. Chris mistake and JIn's laugh at the end made the performance more authentic and iconic. 💖 And I agree with you, Seokjin belongs on the stage! It is such a joy watching him and this performance will always be a favorite one until a new one! 🥰

This was our last performance of him before his military service, it was THE goodbye 🥺🥺 (Happily he's coming back this year!!)

You're so right. Jin is the sweetest dude ever and Coldplay latched onto him so quickly. They seem to have the most massive soft spot and affection for him. It's truly the most wholesome thing. They often gave him a shout out when they were on tour, got t-shirts with the astronaut character Jin created (to keep us company when he left) and they took their plushie Jin gifted them of that astronaut with them on tour. You can see it sitting by the drums in this video. I love this song so much. We all had a hard time coming to terms with Jin leaving for the military since he was the first so he put a lot of care into making sure we were okay. Giving us a see-you-later song, making a plushie for us to remember him, creating a bunch of pre-recorded videos to say hi to us every month or so, sending joking comments online when he has the time and phone privileges, etc. I can't wait for him to come home to ARMY like he promised in The Astronaut MV.

No backing track. That was all Chris Martin, when you thought there was a second Jin voice. We know because there was a behind the scenes video where he talks about it. Jin was nervous, because everything was live vocals, with Coldplay’s live band and no track.

Haven't seen you for a while and great to see you again and that your purple oxalis plant is still alive and even flowering.

He deserves more. He has a very unique beautiful soothing voice. However hybe wants him as their official visuals at d beginning. But jin worked himself up proving he is more than a visual and look at him now everybody loves him.
