As someone with a pet bunny, can confirm, when they're feeling playful/don't want to be caught you DO have to trick them into a corner of some kind in order to actually catch em :P

And even then my brat will still shove past my legs through the tiniest gap. Half the time I end up sitting on her (firmly but without injuring her) as she tries to escape between my legs. 😂

I remembered an old browser game that was literally all about breeding rabbits. I think it was called Breeder Game. It was a fast paced casual game about keeping your rabbits in the pen alive as long as you can by breeding them. You start with two, and click and drag them to their mates and they create babies that will grow into adults, but there are rules where the rabbits will fight if they are the same gender, random disasters will strike the pen and so on. Plus you can't tell what gender are they unless they do their idle animation to indicate what they are, put the wrong ones together and you lose a rabbit.

I remember a game about multiplying bunnies but it wasn't in this style, it was in a cutesy kinda cartoony style and there were no people, just bunnies and you could see them mating and popping out bunnies. I found that game when I was 12 on an obscure website that I used to use all the time but quickly found out that there were 18+ games on there like hentai games etc. I don't think the site is active anymore. I found it in 2005/2006

It's actually not as complicated as it looks, especially since the bunnies aren't taking the actual optimal route - they're just taking the best route based off of what they can "see". If I had to guess, the algorithm does something like... 1. Check to see if the bunny can "see" the player (it looks like it can see stuff within a 3 square radius, with walls blocking vision). 2. Look at where the bunny can move (it moves up to 2 squares per turn), then pick the square furthest away from the player. 3. Move to that square. Of course, you have to add stuff like determining whether or not a move will trap the bunny, but that's as simple as just rejecting any move that would leave the bunny in an "obvious" dead end (bearing in mind that bunnies can't see around corners). The really clever part is designing levels that make this AI seem smarter than it actually is (especially when you include the way that later levels let you manipulate the game world, which really elevates the whole game).
