Well people who really designed Hi-Fi Rush kinda left into their new company after game was done ... so yeah. So they had studio with debts from Tokyo and no leader. Still strange to close only Japanese studio, like yeah they get to that people oportunity work at another Xbox game studio ... that are bassically on another side of the planet ... but from financiall side yeah it ended like this.

Why would a company be taken to court for raising their prices? That's just silly and this was realistically expected at some point. Subscription based services will always raise their prices at some point

They still do scummy things like these companies, but I think they have far more pros on their pros and cons list compared to these other AAA companies. Their releases tend to have a consistent level of quality, they don’t really lay off employees (though that’s also a cultural thing), they generally make good business decisions, they stock up on money for future spending as well as making it so it’s easier for them to get out of a rough spot, etc. They should really improve their relationship with their consumers though. Since they have made a fair amount of anti-consumer practices.

@@White927 You do realize TF2, CS:GO and CS2 are all free-to-play, right? It makes sense for free-to-play games to have microtransactions. What does NOT make sense is paying for the game and then STILL having to pay for in-game content, but Valve doesn't do that to my knowledge. Of course, they ARE guilty of lootboxes and artificial scarcity, but at least it's only for cosmetics. You don't need to buy lootboxes to obtain items that actually affect gameplay.

That's the main reason why I go with Core over Ultimate, just for the sole purpose of playing online multiplayer. I got a 6 month Ultimate subscription as a reward a while back and I just couldn't get any real usage out of it. So for me at least, paying more for Ultimate would've been just a waste of money just to have access to a huge library when I barely touched anything on it, except for Quake 2, that at least I had a bit of fun with. And some of the games on there I already own them anyway, having a physical copy of Halo Master Chief Collection and already having Minecraft purchased digitally on my Xbox account prior to redeeming my 6 months of Ultimate.

@@spunkysamuel games these days priced at 70 dollars don't deserve that price point due to them sucking hard like starfield and the madden games. Games back then were expensive because the cartridges were expensive to make as well with the inclusion of shipping and storage of these games. Dvds are cheaper and use up less resources to make than a cartridge which means the price of manufacturing video game cds drastically went down, which is why games on the ps2 were mostly 40 to 50 dollars. These days, there's no excuse for a AAA game to be 70 dollars when they're ditching physical copies for digital.

Physically if possible. The only reason I have Core is for Xbox Live. I have used Gamepass Ultimate and can agree that it is absolutely great and definitely bang for your buck. But if you're only interested in Xbox Live, going from $60 a year to $75 a year is STEEP! Not to mention, these kinds of small price hikes are how gouging starts. Sure, it's $3 now. But in 2 years, it'll be another $5, after that $10, and before you know it, Gamepass is $300 bucks! I'm exaggerating a little (obviously), but small changes that lead to big differences are how things get normalized. We all laughed at Oblivions horse armor, and now we have CoD charging a dollar for crosshairs! I'm always skeptical of these "small" changes because they never stop at "small" Anyway. Gamepass is great. I don't think it's very good for the industry, and Microsoft is probably going to nickle and dime us for the pleasure of renting games

And Windows-based PCs are pretty much turbo-charged Xboxes anyway if that's your favourite platform. Most of Sony's games are getting ported as well, cross-play is more common so I don't lose out with playing online with my mates. My PS5 is mostly a media streaming machine at this point, have no reason to upgrade to the Pro whenever that comes out. The Switch is genuinely the only console worth owning now.
