They Said Hitchhiking In Turkey Was Easy...

Күн бұрынThey say Turkey is a hitchhikers dream but today we found out for ourselves.
Plan was to hitchhike from Mardin to Diyarbakir in Turkey's Southeast.
We jumped on a local bus out of town then after a little wait found a nice guy who actually took us all the way to Diyarbakir, he even dropped us right at our hotel which was super kind.
We then ate our first borek in Turkey which was expensive and tasted bang average, then we went and checked into our apartment for the next few days.
In the evening I had some asthma trouble, turns out only 1 pharmacy was open in the city so we headed over there. The people here were ridiculously hospitable, they sorted me out then made us tea before inviting us into the back room for pide bread and fresh salad. What a place.
Gotta say it wasn't the easiest place we've hitchhiked but easily doable nonetheless!

Very nice. I was extremely pleased to experiences the simple and finest way of small town life . The simplicity with which the vlog is made is very impressive. Though I am staying in delhi since last 28 years I still cherish my childhood memories some 55 years back when my mother use to cook on earthen burner (desi chullah) & We children use to surrond her Those were the days we never forget Now I am myself 61 years old & everything is limited to city flats etc MY BEST WISHES TO YOU. That burek place completely ripped you off.. We just had byrek this morning in Albania and it was more expensive than usual at 100 LEK or 85 pence. If there isn't a price on a board or menu, I never ever order anything without asking the price first. I had a barber try and rip me off yesterday wanted 10 euro for a haircut. I told him I knew locals were paying 7. 7 or no cut. Anyway my hair looks good, 7 euro. I hate people that try to hose foreigners.

That's the price for borek in Turkey, prices were on the board, place is a massive rip off for average things in our opinion was an across the board thung! We're not too worried about asking price cos if anybody ever says something ridiculous I'll just say nah and not pay them, we're not silly tourists they can't take advantage of us. Your right tho that's why we avoid places that treat foreigners differently!

I am happy to see you back! I just want to share my view about the last two videos in Turkey. I have just realised how you both get wherever you go in Turkey, a culture shock. I am originally from Slemani-Kurdistan! And just see how big are differences between mentality and civilisation between Slemani, Erbil and Dohuk and those turkish cities. They are really horrible, every where is low quality and the people are very unfriendly and there is really nothing to see! The food is really very expensive and with low quality. May God save Kurdistan!
