Its normal from daycare, elementary, high school, college. We have 2 songs sometimes 3 songs, Graduation song,, and song tribute to the parents and teachers..

when i graduated in HS, we had to learn the song and choreo too. Then we had to find our parents in the crowd and give them flowers. PH graduation ceremonies are always dedicated to parents and those that helped us graduate. Its all about gratitude, friendship, family, and love.

it also became a tradition in filipino graduations to sing "MAPA" by sb19 as a tribute to the parents by the graduates. thank you for this reaction. more power.

Singing a Graduation Song has become a tradition in the Philippines. And most of the time as a graduate you'll get to sing a Graduation song other than the song dedicated to parents and there are even some who has another song for their teachers. So if you'll ask a Filipino what was his/her graduation song when he/she graduated expect to receive at least 3 songs. When I graduated elementary our graduation song was Hawak Kamay, Thanks To You when I graduated High School and Fly when I graduated from college.

Filipinos by tradition, are so much into music. Pregnant mothers and the fathers, listen to music even before the baby is born( more so with present day technology). When they are born, they experience music, and not just the traditional lullabies, but actual radio, tv and other sources of music. It is not an exaggeration to say that, even toddlers, during parties, are encouraged to sing Karaoke, with a parent holding the Mike. Christian Masses or Praise and Worship services, usually have lots of singing, and Sunday Schools as well. Moving Ups in kindergarten and graduations, whether elementary or high school, are special occasions with lots of music. This video shows just another example of this, which adds to a lifelong memory for many.

see this is what's different about the philippines. me graduating in canada, it's a Here's your diploma, now GTFO 🤣🤣 in the philippines they make it memorable. Ask any of them and they'll remember their song they sang during graduation. Me i can't rememeber what even happened in my grad. cause we just ate dance and dinner lol You could see so many of these and they're all unique. it's like they're competing now that youtube exists lol
