Todd, spectacular finds. I loved all of the pocket watches. Your research of the family history was impressive, as well the family cemetery. We hope you are not finished there and can spend another day with Bryan. Thank you for bringing to us another piece of history.👍👏😀

Todd, WE had a big old Black Walnut at the end of the circular driveway on our farm. I climbed all over it when I was little. WE took the whole nuts and put them in burlap sacks and let them ripen until they were black. Then we took the inner nut, split them open with a couple of old bricks and chowed down on the meat. Always ended up with stained finger, but it was worth it! We also had mulberry trees , pinkish and white fruit, gooseberries and grapes up the hill. Back in the late 1800's and into the early twentieth century, whoever was there before us, planted those trees for silk worms. I think that farmwife and the great experiences roaming that land contributed to my health today at 81. Thanks for sharing this hidden history! Cheers, Rik Spector

Rik brings back fond memories for me too buddy. My mom would drag us kids out every fall to drive along the country roads picking up Black Walnuts in burlap sacks or paper sacks, and dry them out on newspapers. Then we would stain our hands hulling them and breaking them open. As a kid I would be embarrassed because my hands would be stained beyond a week's worth of handwashing. We loved the carmel drizzle sweet buns with black walnuts though....and the cookies made with them.

I know you are looking for the pocket watches buttons coins and such but even if it's only an old square nail it's an awesome find. To just hold it in your hands with the knowledge that people some two hujndred years ago held it and used it is just amazing to me. You never disappoint with the finds or the history. Thanks for allowing me to see all these things. God bless you and your family

What an exciting treasure hunt! I think the item found at 24:17 is one of those things used to hook the stand up collar to the shirt - there would have been 3 of these to attach the collar to the shirt - from back in the days when they had stand up collars. Of all the finds the candle socket to the candlestick is my favorite. Thanks for taking us along!

Todd, some of those Amick/Emig ‘s must have moved further south. My great great grandfather, Hiram Harmon, was put in the care of a John Amick in 1808, we assumed as an orphan, in Randolph county, North Carolina. We feel there was a family connection to the Amicks due to some naming similarities. We know the Harmon‘s were also of German descent and probably came from the same area in Germany, the Alsace-Lorraine region. Wish we could find out more. Love your videos, from South Carolina.

I can't help but wonder if you ever come across Native Indian spear head's. (Hand carved stones). I'm Canadian but both sides of my family (Dutch and Irish) were farmers'. (1803 and 1830) arrival. Both came to the USA first but didn't like the slavery going on so they moved up to Canada and purchased farmland. They collected the many spear head's on their land and as well provided a home for both indigenous people as well as one particular slave named Prince Van Patter who was a staff of Joseph Brant in the original town of Burlington, Ontario. (Lakeshore Drive) on Lake Ontario. Sioux Lookout Park is in Burlington, Ontario at the end of 212 Brookfield Ave. As a kid growing up there my dad and I found many spear head's while digging up the soil to plant vegetables. I can only hope that you come to Canada in order to broaden your search given that we are neighbors 💚💌

Hey there, appreciate the story and I would love to check out Canada too. My wife's family immigrated from France to Montreal and eventually settled in Maine near the Canadian border. I have been to Canada many times from Ontario to Montreal. I do have a series of videos I shot in Maine, near the border with Nova Scotia. I might have 4 of them from up there. I was invited up by Billy Milliken who took me to places on islands off the coast, but he lives almost at the Canadian border. We went to it but never crossed. I often relic hunt for spearpoints but don't post videos of it. I do have one video specifically looking for arrowheads on my channel. I might start doing more of these in the summers as it is too hot here to Metal Detect during those months. Take care and Merry Christmas.

Todd, the game piece thing that you called it, looks to me like the piece that goes to an old shoe. Back in the day shoes were sometimes buckled up using a device that snapped them together. I think that piece is from one of those shoes and this is part of that snap. At least this is what I have been told.

Those are some awesome finds! I agree that someone had to of been a pocket watch repairer. I'd be shocked if they weren't & if so then they had to of been either a collector or had some sort of mental issues where they had to buy pocket watches whenever they could. LoL! I thought at first that the candle holder was the base of a decorative bell that was just missing a handle. I do hope that you can do another video or two there to see what else the land is hiding. Thanks for another great video & keep up the great work!
