@@eze1013I don’t know if you have played no man’s sky recently but in the past few months it’s been getting huge updates to change that, planets may not have cities but there is a lot of quests now and a story to the game, if you haven’t played it recently I would recommend you try it again, although the main difference between star field and no man’s sky for me is that no man’s sky has multiplayer.

@@Gerlaffy for example he said there are a thousand other planets to explore. Wich could be technically true but that does not mean you can land on every one of them or that there is even sometimes interesting to be found. Obviously not cause a thousand would be way to much.

NMS- 7 years of free content, transparency, admitting to errors mistakes, still working on it to this day, started off with 13 people developing and now has 26 still working on this game. Listening and working for its community. That’s why we forgave them. Now before continuing I love Skyrim, Fallout, and Cyberpunk 2077 (Xbox player btw) Skyrim or atleast Elder Scrolls 5 feels like the modding community that Bethesda loves to saves their games by adding content and fixing bugs that exist till this day and my backup for this is the lack of mods on Fallout New Vegas on Xbox. They don’t need to lift a finger to fix their games and I don’t play mmo’s like Fallout 76 or Elder Scrolls Online. But we all know how Fallout 76 opening was terrible but now it’s good all of a sudden and people are saying it was always good but I never got the feeling. Fallout 4 ran decently but as a person without the dlc’s I can’t run most of the mods. Which are noticeably lackluster for Xbox. But overall what I’m trying to say is this is my experience with Bethesda main titles (I don’t count Redfall as a seasonal left 4 dead lover) Bethesda- Post a buggy glitchy game. Brings it up once, patches some major bugs, abandons game, game gets fixed by mod makers (gods), releases paid dlc to milk more money. Games do have good writing quality and storytelling, and storybeats. Cyberpunk 2077 aka CDProjectRed’s ugly duckling- Crowbcat said it perfectly, Overpromise, Overhype, Under-deliver. They used fake reviews, fake video footage, and made a fake game of what could be. They update and fix bugs sure and now with Phantom Liberty which is another paid DLC with contents they promised from launch primarily Vehicle Shenanigans (now it will be added to base game but it won’t much impact without the missions offered in the dlc). They are doing this one dlc and then they said explicitly this would be the last major update for the game, so their just gonna do bug fixes. So they lied to us, update the game to make it playable on new gen consoles, and pc, but abandoned those on old gen and lucky for me I was that small silent group that actually had a good time in cyberpunk on old-gen but after the first update it crashed constantly rendering it unplayed and now I have an S but I bought the disc so I had to buy the game again (which I did). But they post a broken glitchy game gets sued makes an apology patches the game (but not fix it entirely) makes an anime and all of a sudden they’re forgiven. We love Hello Games for the fact they knew full well they lied to us and we were disappointed but they didn’t abandon the game, they didn’t make a pay-wall dlc for the promised content, and they listen to us and do events for players and created a lovely caring community and atmosphere for people who like to chill out, explore, roleplay, and I would say space fight but that is a little lackluster in my personal opinion, but they still work on it and they have for 7 years.

@@freecurt how so, no man’s sky is so much better dude. the game has virtually infinite different planets, a wide variety of gameplay mechanics, and the open space ACTUALLY exists, and you can actually go in space and do so much cool stuff there, while you can’t do that in starfield. the game is better in every single way besides the story, which isn’t all that bad. keep in mind i’ve played a LOT of starfield and i still think it’s a good game but it has literally nothing on nms, it’s in a whole different league.

I heard NMS doesn't have that long a story. Does it feel repetitive after a while?

@@chrissavage1449depends. They are still giving out FREE updates and extending the story and have many quests to do. The multiplayer is pretty good and there’s decently repeatable missions for loot. In my 400 hours I have always found more to do and upgrade. A new update is coming out soon early this year too. Worth checking out in my opinion. Starts a little slow but picks up quick

I've got about 50 hours on starfield and 400 hours on nms. I'm bored with starfield. I'm contemplating buying nms on the switch so I could play it while not at home. Also starting a new save on nms is appealing.

I am absolutely loving nms but yeah it would definitely appeal to me even more if they added more in depth combat mechanics and enemy types.

Bethesda sees theres only NMS to compete with in that genre and plan to make more money from all the dlc and monthly fees than the game itself over the course of many years. Wont help NMS because it will still be trash. NMS needs to be remade with better features for it to be a great game. The idea was god tier but their execution was bad and still is. They need space combat, better on foot combat, better enemies and a reason to fight. And yes, there is no space combat unless you think timed pirate encounters is it lol.

Not too long ago no mans sky was biggest let down and drama.

So no man's Sky released in 2016. Skyrim Hearthfire DLC released in 2012. This means Skyrim had base-building for years before no man's sky. And in Hearthfire DLC you were allowed to hire a housecarl and a carriage driver. The scanning layout is super generic, I've seen it in multiple games. No man's Sky doesn't own jetpacks, they've existed multiple-game throughout the years. The only thing I can give to you really is the mining and I'm sure if I looked hard enough I can probably find someone who did it before no man's sky.

The difference is that NMS has so many planets it would be impossible for them to not be RNG, so if there's a limited amount of planets here then a handcrafted planet would make sense.

It's procedurally generated, nobody creates entire planets by that's just insane, they just might have an artistic touch added to them

​@Paul Klein I know, its still procedural generated assets that the artist has brushes and tunables they can work with- no amount of "hand-crafting" of planets will pad out planets to look or play uniquely. You can maybe get away with planets feeling and looking somewhat different if there were only a hand-full but it looks like they're going with a few hudnred here.

I think all the hate it's getting is a good sign. It's like the opposite of what happened with cyberpunk. This was all a lot more than i thought the game would be and nothing beats a Bethesda RPG. FO4 was underwhelming, but nothing nothing compares imo

Nah not really. Only thing similar to NMS is the mining tool , everything else is what would be in a space game. Star citizen has similar elements too but you don't see it being compared to nms. Mass effect is more comparable to this than NMS.
