I remember when I was 16 (now 21) wanting a 2013 M3 but ended up with a 2002 Camaro (kinda sad with what I got but understandable) with 40K miles. My Dad taught me how to take care of/appreciate my car. But what I didn't realize was that he was teaching me how to be responsible with what I had and to work even harder for the things I did want in life. Through all the hard work I put into maintaining my Camaro I realized that I was happy with my car. Every weekend I would wash it and vacuum it. Finally, after I got a full-time job I was able to afford a BMW Gran Coupe 428i and man the day I bought it I felt so proud and excited that I bought this with my hard-earned time. and yeah that 2013 M3 is still my dream and I will make it mine one day :) Always set goals for yourself and get out of your comfort zone!

Great video! Enjoyed how you gave advice to young people. I'm 40 yrs old and my first car was a 1979 V6 mustang. I acquired it back in 1996. It lasted 2 yrs. Now I'm rocking a stock Mazdaspeed 6, and a FBO with MHD tune 2011 E90. I'm glad I waited till I was old before buying my first Bimmer. As you said maintenance will kill up. DIY when you can!

First bmw I bought was a 2001 325ci and I learned everything about the bmw inline6 from it. 3 years later I bought my 2nd, a 2008 535i and it was a beast to own. I learned all I could off of the N54 motor for 5 years. Now I currently own a 2014 435i and it's been a blast so far. Start small and grow yourself up slowly. When you are ready for the upgrade then that's when you jump on it.

I totally agree with this statement. i got my 2013 bmw 328i for my 16th birthday, not even knowing how to drive that well yet within 2 weeks ended up breaking my m3 bumper. I felt super bad about it. Used my own money to buy a new bumper and get it re painted again, it was pretty expensive. Not trying to sound ungrateful or anything but i wish i had gotten a different car not so expensive to drive around for a little bit. i hope you guys understand where i’m coming from. I’m 19 years old now and i definitely appreciate the love for the car a lot more now. Taking a lot more care of it now than when i was a few years younger, have even done some modifications to the car. i have never really been a car guy myself, but i’m always learning. for the few years i’ve been driving my vehicle all i had was a problem with the fuel reserve acting up once and my dad ended up fixing it. He’s a master tech for bmw hence why my parents had gotten me a bmw, because it would be easier for him to fix. but if you guys are debating about getting an f30 ( maybe not for your first car) i would say yes you guys would love it! I really hope i didn’t sound ungrateful in this comment, because i promise you guys i am Haha! Great stuff Jon!

yes you should my first car (currently the one i’m driving) is a 2016 340i msport i love everything about it, havent had many problems with it yet at all overall great car i would recommend buying one

I’ve been driving a 2019 Chevrolet Malibu LT as my first car, I got it when I just turned 17 in November of 2018, I’ve had reliability issues with the CVT transmission and luckily this Thursday I’m replacing it with a 2016 BMW 320i with 17,000 miles on it for $16K, clean title and my finances are excellent considering my age

Agreed. It took me 20+ years to get my 1st brand new fully loaded (G30) BMW 540i xDrive M Sport package/M Sport brakes with 20” BMW Individual wheels. Back in the day (studenthood), it’s all about driving many many 10-15 years old hoopties around. To be honest...I don’t mind driving those ole whips with 200k miles. I guess right now...I have a true appreciation having this fine automobile. And yes, the car is clean and fresh at all time!!!

Your right about this drove a Camry with mods in my early 20s thinking it could live up too what I really wanted a Bmw no way !😭 when I got my first 2001 e46 325i fell in love with it not even close to the Camry. Glad I waited cause spend over 3 grand in a year on that car no way could I have afford that before! Now got this 2013 e92 335i n55 beast ! Turning 32 next month next year getting that M6 or M8 God first 🙏🏾

I’d say to buy an F30, but not as a first car. The warranties are no longer 4yrs/50,000 miles and they also omitted a lot of things. They are great cars, if you keep them properly maintenanced. I’ve had my 2014 328i for almost 3 years now and all my O2 sensors have been replaced, my battery has died and my catalytic converter somehow needed replacing (thankfully all but the battery were covered by warranty). The plus sides are obviously, decent power, great styling, and very safe cars. Just my 2 cents. 🤷🏻‍♂️ My car currently has 80,000 miles. The 02 sensors I believe were around $250 a piece without warranty excluding labor costs (I believe there were 4 of them), the catalytic converter was something ridiculous, I believe around $1,500 without labor) and the battery was $440 w/labor and that software crap that the dealership has to do 🤦🏻‍♂️

fiji Akina keep saving up and look for the specific one you want. Don’t go and buy just any bmw do your research and look into the features they have before you buy one and Your car payment shouldn’t be more than one of your pay checks.

Anyone have any tips to keep an f30 last long? I just got one at 75k miles a 2013 and would like for it to last long so besides basic maintenance like oil changes anything else because I here a lot of things can go wrong if you don't do work before.

@@GTGamer59 get a job to pay and maintain it, if you’re a young guy it’s a good way to learn real responsibility and enthusiasm for a car 👍 you’ll appreciate it more then. But yeah, if you’re willing to go through all the little bmw inconveniences with plastic parts and 91 gas, then go for it man but i recommend paying gas and more than half of the monthly payment.

I love my f30 and I highly recommend it to anyone if it’s in your price range, BUT I really wish I did spend the extra couple thousand and go with a C300. The interior of the bmw is too much plastic and cheap bits. Sit in a Mercedes and realize what you’re missing haha

when i was shopping for a f30 i went try a couple of mercedes aswell although the interior is better and the car all round looks more expensive i have to say the bmw f30 is a perfect blend of luxury and sport. i tried a c300 and it felt too luxurious for me.

Yes but the c300 lacks acceleration, and its not the most reliable, the bmw 3/4 series are pretty reliable, most of their issues aren’t major, and they dont break down often, its just that when something does go wrong its not cheap

First Bimmer was 1991 E30 318is 5 spd - I was in Love. 2nd Bimmer was 1999 E36 M3 5 spd. (Wrecked it, DUI) I was in love, but paying for DUI. 3rd BMW 2002 e46 325i Sport 5 spd. I was in love - she was perfect, minus about 50hp. 4th BMW is CURRENTLY 2013 335i M Sport 6 Spd. She is a goddess. This guy is “spot on” You are entering into a relationship with a supermodel. She is sexy, she performs amazingly, she will make all other cars feel/taste like vinegar. BUT--Be prepared to PAY $$ when she needs attention. My only regret is that BMW has lost its way. No more manual transmissions, too many nannies. I can’t believe it, but I’m going to have go to dumpster diving at Dodge Challengers/Chevy Corvettes for my next manual transmission car that isn’t 20 yrs old. Shame shame.

Listen kids, this guy knows what he's talking about. MODS ARE OPTIONAL.....don't look at his car and feel like you need wraps, custom wheels, pipes, etc. Learn how to change the brakes, oil, fluids, etc. Wash your Honda/Toyota and keep it clean. You take care of your car and your car will take care of you.

Bought an F30, at 19. I don't believe that it's to do with age, rather if you can afford it. And that doesn't mean afford the car sticker price, means affording the time to spend (repairs/mods), as well the money for repairs. If you can afford all that without affecting any aspect of your life go for it. Do the research and find out what the "actual" cost of owning the car is, it can run you dry if you aren't prepared for it.

I grinded my ass all summer to get myself my white 328i f30 sport line , it was more than worth it, surprisingly the insurance is nearly the same as any hatch or civic one would buy, not to mention I got the man @kiesmotorsports to help with maintenance
