@@davidledford9041 that's what I thought, too. It doesn't matter what kind of sin it is- everyone gets offended (and defensive) when a sin is pointed out- gossipping, greed, fornication, gluttony, hot temper... anything. Take a number and get in line. -- Jesus came and died for us so that we may have _life_ (not death in sin), and have life _in abundance, _ so that our cups overflow. _That's_ what we need to walk and talk and show.

Actually Christians do get them. They don’t get Christians. The only difference between non believers and Christians is that we repented. Every Christian sinned before, no Christian is perfect. No, we don’t think we’re better than non believers. We lived both lives. A life of sin and a life serving Jesus. We know the truth and how corrupted and wicked this world is.

I wasn't apart of that particular community, but as far as losing my sense of community I can relate. I lost friends, a long-term relationship, and was ostracized by family. By choosing to follow Christ, I was actually accused of being in a cult. Even missed out on certain networking opportunities; Initially I really lost alot, pretty much everything I knew and loved, but God absolutely restored and healed me. It can be seriously difficult to walk away from all u know, but following Christ really does lead to discovering a life of purpose. If anyone is going through anything remotely similar, I pray you're strength and encouragement, peace, and joy in the Lord.❤

Amen, like I don't understand why it's so hard for the LGBTQ community that God loves them how they are and he accepts their identities. It's the church that has always been judgemental, in general. The Bible talks about this, so it should be clear that what many churches say is not the real message of Jesus. But that doesn't mean we are not going to go to church. I mean, the first Christian churches had great ideological battles, yet, Paul encouraged them to tolerate and accept each other. So even if a Christian wrongly judges a gay Christian, that does not mean that first Christian will remain like that forever. We will be tranformed and Jesus will glorify through our bodies.
@sarahwolff3393

A lot of Christians DO understand this. And that is why it is so heart wrenching to see an entire community of ppl, which spans nations and borders, convinced that all they are at their core, and everything that defines their beauty is rooted in their sexuality. We are all idolatrous sinners who place everything before God. I am a musician and before Christ graciously wrecked my whole worldview, if you asked who I was I would say I was simply a musician and nothing more. But now I would say that by God’s grace I am in Christ first, and that God created me with an inclination toward music. We are all so much more than just our sexuality and our passions. They can certainly be driving forces, but are by no means what defines our being. We, whether Christians or non are image bearers of God himself, created for the purpose of reflecting God’s goodness in order to glorify him. Our own selfish pride and sinful nature has marred God’s image in us, but thankfully through Christ can be made whole again! It is very important for Christians to approach every potential relationship with the utmost humility. Christ our redeemer, brought himself low in order to save us. He humbled himself to the point of being brought into the world that HE created as a helpless baby, to live perfectly obedient, to count himself as equal to man despite being wrongfully accused, mocked, beaten, and eventually put to death in the most humiliating way by the very same “man” He came to the world to save. If we are called to love as Christ loved us, then we can inject ourselves into communities like LGBTQ and hear them out and care for them and earn their trust so that we may share the good news of the Gospel. It is our only job after all. Christ condescended to be with man, but we ARE actually man. That means as long as we walk the earth, we are no better than our neighbors - though we might consider ourselves better off in terms of the afterlife. But doesn’t that make it even more important to share God’s truth with the world?! God bless y’all!!!

Sarah thank you for your insight and I do agree with what you said for the most part, however I don't believe "earning their trust" is a prerequisite to sharing the gospel. The gospel is the message of the good news and we as followers of Christ are called to proclaim/herald that message (repent and trust in Christ) in truth and love irregardless if we have gained a person's trust. There isn't a prerequisite of having earned someone's trust in order to share the gospel. Romans 1:16-17.
@ikw4384
@ikw4384 3 жыл бұрын
I get your point @@jonedmunds8383 and I understand Sarah's as well because if we look at the life of paul through his letters, he would have used himself as an example in speaking to the different churches (?). So to the jews, he would have spoken as a jew but to the gentiles, he would have used a different 'common ground'. I think that is both so that those you are sharing the gospel with will see you, to some extent, as equal but also as someone they can trust because of similar experiences. Of course, we can also look at Christ, our ultimate example, the Pharisees just couldn't get why Jesus would surround Himself with/ be around such 'unholy people' but that was the humility of Christ (that we saw in Paul as well) He came to _save_ 'sinners of whom _I am cheif_' so even though everyone wouldn't change because of the gospel shared with them and not all will trust the good news of Christ, we have to be humble enough to go where the spirit of God leads us and to submit to whatever we go through as experiences because those experiences can be used to make that 'common ground', so that Christ can reach the lost through us and that He can redeem them......it really comes down to Galatians 2:20 20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

For a long time, I felt so defined by my sexuality. I felt like I would never be able to live a Godly life because of my struggles with same sex attraction. Hey I think its awesome of you to take the time to make this video! That being said I believe the Gospel offends everyone evenly, because a sinner IS WHO I AM, its not what I do, but biblically, its who I am, as Jesus said, "Gods wrath hovers over the sinner". And when I came to Christ, although I was straight, I still had to make all those adjustments in my life, with friends and family, changes that where uncomfortable, but by the Grace of God and His strength in me I was able. I even had to break up with my girlfriend of 3 years. But I was content with Jesus Christ. So what is the point I'm trying to make? Christians need to realize that those who practice homosexuality are no better or worst then thieves, liars, fornicators, adulterers, and all who have broken Gods law. We ALL fall short, we ALL need the gospel which attacks who we ARE, and a new birth by the Holy spirit to make us BE who we ARE in Jesus Christ. We need more humble christians to engage with the LGBT community. God bless

I think that a lot of Christians are disturbed by the LGBT culture, and as people we tend to avoid what disturbs us, especially if we don't understand it. She's calling out the Christians who aren't willing to befriend non-christians because of their sexual orientation. But, for the Christians who do reach out to cultures based on sin, I think that many make the mistake of trying to push people out of their sin. Salvation is not as simple as pushing someone out of harm's way. We can't push people to Jesus, but we can show people Jesus in the same way He showed Himself to us. The Lord is capable of saving us instantly, but remember that He sent our salvation through a baby. Jesus spent 30 years on this Earth before starting His ministry, and then spent 3 years walking alongside His disciples. Jesus is God, so God spent 30 years on earth, 3 years among his disciples, and 3 days on a cross. The Lord takes His time with us, because He knows we need it. As much as I want to push my friends out of harm's way, I know that I'm not capable of moving them. For them to move out of the trucks way is between them and God. I can show the Jesus' love, but I also need to build that relationship with them. There's a reason we are supposed to be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry. We can't be quick to assume their reasons for their sin. We will never love perfectly, but God has always worked through imperfect people. And yes, not everyone will listen, and not every seed will grow a tree. But it's a guarantee that no tree will grow if no seed is planted in the first place. The practicality is used by knowing the right season to plant the seed. We can't know the right season if we don't get to know the person first. Thank you for coming to my TedTalk :)

Jackie just pointed out something that we as Christians need to know. I have Christian friends who used to be Lesbians. Talk to them several times a week. However, I would caution though, only STRONG Christians should befriend someone living in unrepentant sin. Some people are led astray and will even start agreeing with the lifestyle of their friend since an emotional bond can be built with friends. So while one can be friends we must always remember that Satan can and does use relationships formed out of "good intentions" for evil..........for example, a married man who just wants to "help out" a female coworker in her time of need.........that many times lead to adultery. Good points.........but be led by the Holy Spirit before taking on such assignments.

I wrote this as a reply but will put it here for all to see. What I am hearing is that as Christians, we are not very good at supplying fellowship and community; especially not for those who needed to leave theirs- be it LGBTQ... people or those who came from different cultures/religions. Christians are called to one-body-ness and one-anothering, and we are not doing much of that. I am an introvert, and too much "togetherness" actually stresses me, but I can see how lonely (certain) converts must be after leaving what is described as a close-knit community that supports each other out of sheer felt necessity.

Why should we be accepting of lgbtq individuals if they themselves don’t want to change? I’m a young Christian who has struggled with homosexuality for the 21 years I’ve been alive on this earth. The difference is I accept that I am terrible person and abomination to god, because of my desires. We as Christians shouldn’t make it more comfortable for these people. We should drive them to a state of anguish, because of how they are and can only be saved by god. I know it might sound harsh, but it’s needed to be critical in every facet of your life. When I ever think another guy is cute or I get arousal from men, I will beat myself up over and over again. I will tell myself I’m an abomination, because that is what I am/doing. We need to be harsh to ourselves, why should I give myself grace or acceptance when to god I am no better than someone who cheats on their wife or someone who commits murder.

This is great that you're sharing this as its really insightful, I am a born again christian who used to identify as a homosexual man pursuing multiple relationships with men but I do have to admit though like you said it is complicated, I was a typical playboy, I would hook up with guys and cheat on relationships I was just a wreck but at the time I loved it. But the LGBTQ community for me never felt "safe" deep down I didn't want to grow old with a man or even commit to anything like that and I often found myself just hating my identity. I would sleep with men and feel shame within myself, I was in a on and off relationship with a man for about 2/3 years and I would never sleep towards him I just felt yuck within myself. I didn't even begin to think about Jesus, but my cousin got saved one day and she told me about Jesus and about heaven and hell, the thing that got me though was she explained she was a sinner, I was a sinner and so is everyone else it wasn't this is worse than that, it was just all sin pulls us away from God. That really stuck with me so I began attending church with my boyfriend at the time and the Holy Spirit was just working in me through the preaching and one day I just gave up and said hell is where I'm going I'll never be able to change my "identity" and that same week I met God at the alter of the church like a light rush through my body and just glow inside of me. That was in 2017, (after that I tried in my own strength to fight this thinking if I was straight it would then please God, that failed 😂 so one day I just surrendered and said "God I don't want to go back to the world, I want to live pleasing to you but IDK how, You have to do it) then in 2019 I walked into my church and God took me back, I saw a woman singing worship and I saw beauty in her a pure just wow who is that. I literally had to walk out and compose myself then go inside😂 God has given me a new identity, He alone has set me free and given me a life I don't even deserve let alone a place in heaven. I want to encourage anyone reading this, I was a member of the LGBTQ community and someone had the courage to share their faith with me (I have friends who are now happily married man and wife with children that used to identify as Gay). There's a saying by ray comfort: If someone told you to jump into ice cold water you could die within two minutes you wouldn't even think of doing it, but if you saw a four year old boy in the water drowning you would just jump into that freezing cold water to save his life. It's love, perfect love casts out fear❤

There’s a hookup culture in the gay community but that necessarily doesn’t mean everyone does it. I’m not condemning it because people can choose if they want to settle down with someone or not. You probably felt shame because everywhere you turned, straight people/Christian’s would tell you it was wrong and that your literal identity that you had no part in making is wrong. It’s so selfish that straight people don’t want us to have relationships because they are “sinful”-whatever the fuck that means. Straight people get to never get to hate themselves all throughout their teenage years praying for “God” to change something he never will. Hopefully you can get to love yourself.

Can you give any reason for why it is evil, which is not "because my holy book says so"_ ? How is loving another person evil or even a sin. You say you love people, yet you condemn or judge them for a part of who they are. _"The devil is a great deceiver and the master of confusion."_ And Jesus is even more of an immoral criminal by condemning homosexuality. And that guy supposedly is the perfect and sinless savior?! NO NO NO! Jesus was promoting hate against humans. _"Demons can come in through sexual abuse."_ And more of the superstitious nonsense from goat herders of the Bronze Age... Will they again just jump down from the clouds and rape all the beautiful women, as stated in Genesis 6? _"They just need deliverance to be how they really were created."_ Well, most LGBTQ people are homosexual, because they are born that way and because their body and brain develops in such a way to find attraction of the same sex. So God created gay people to be gay. So shut up, that's what your God wants them to be and if you criticize them for they way they are made, then you criticize God's decision and thus you speak out against your own creator and will be judged after death for that. Have fun in God's furnace. ;) _"God made us all wonderful from the womb."_ Just as with homosexuals. _"We need to pray when ppl are not in alignment with the word. We can't beat it out of them."_ The hypocrisy of Christians here is so astonishing. _"I agree that we do need to speak in love & be patient."_ You obviously do NOT speak with them in love if you speak against their love! And how will just waiting patiently change their personality all of a sudden? _"Nothing is impossible with God."_ Except for turning reasonable and moral people on his side. ;)

If we live for pleasure we can end up doing things that are out of touch with reality, that are counterfeit and unfruitful. The apostle Paul when he addressed homosexuality was not concerned how people feel or how people will take it but he spoke the truth by the leading of the holy spirit so if the apostle Paul wrote by the leading of the Holy Spirit then who are we to say that approach was wrong. Here is the underlying issue.. sexual desire… the sexual desire of a Human person.. is THE ONE THING in our hearts of the flesh… takes the most effort figuring out it’s wrong in terms of the gospel if you are indeed on the wrong side of the kingdom. sexuality is one of the biggest influences of ones identity so.. when you go to a LGBTQ+ rally.. THE OFFENSE the soul gets is enormous. Every sin is punishable by death.. and leads to the same place. The problem is people go, hey, don’t masterbate! Hey don’t smoke weed! Hey control your anger! But the sexual sin in our society is SO POTENT and SO STRONG. You not winning that soul over without a fight because the body will say.. this feels right so it must be right in ways sometimes unrecoverable. Hence a Reprobate. Also the true gospel… is not lovey dovey 24/7. Stop it. It’s Tough Love. What I don’t want to see…. Is morons with signs that says “God hates Faggots” without mentioning liars, adulterers, fornicators, blasphemers and fully represent among other sins instead of projecting that you are Whole with god and the “homos” are the problem. GET A GRIP! Jesus was rough man, but he had Endless love and compassion let’s do the same. dealing with a drug addict biblically in our society and IN SPIRIT is not the same as someone who is in Homosexuality. Get them delivered, cast demons out, make miracles happen in Jesus name. Stop excluding and banishing people emotionally just because You are the sinner with the golden ticket (aka) Jesus. What's described here is idolatry, making something besides God "everything," to you, in this case "sexuality." Christian understand this better than everyone else, coming out of this is the very thing that makes most of us a Christian, we have given up manufacturing excuses for our sins as "just doing me," and "this is who I am." Which of us doesn't "have friends that don't look like you," "aren't part of your church," or "don't have the same sexual preference you do." If you're actually a Christian almost everybody you've ever known will fall into one of those group, and not friends only, but husbands, wives, children, parents, brothers and sisters. My friends and family are, almost to the man, pagans. They are outright hostile to Christ and to me as a Christian. Above all, Christians must remain repentant in Christ, living out our commission to be a light of holiness in a sin darkened world. Let the Holy Spirit decide how many friends are gained and how much family falls away because of our faith in Him. We suffer loss and endure in this world, we don't become of this world by seeking to befriend it, "know you not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God." -James 4:4 Encouragement: - everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or farms for My name’s sake, will receive many times as much, and will inherit eternal life. - You will be hated by all because of My name, but it is the one who has endured to the end who will be saved. - Blessed are you when people insult you and persecute you, and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of Me. - After you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself perfect, confirm, strengthen and establish you.

Yes exactly, I’m in a space where God has brought me out of the lgbtq community as well and having to cut off and release basically everyone I know is HARD and painful while still dealing with SSA to women and allowing God to renew my mind continually including accepting that his design is for me to be with a man while also denying my flesh and learning to lean into my femininity. Many days as I push on down the narrow road I’m met with spiritual warfare that attempts to get me to go back to my old life. I think it’s so important for Christian’s who don’t have history in the lgbtq community to be sensitive to what this means for us. Every demographic can’t be handled the same. It’s biblical that you become all things to all people. Meet them where they are but obviously with the guidance of the Holy Spirit. We can validate peoples experiences without ignoring that we all bare different crosses and we all have to work out our salvation with fear and trembling.

If your friend is standing on train tracks, and they don't believe a train is coming at them, do you continue to let them deceive themselves, or do you tackle them and get them out of the way? It is NOT love to lie. If you do not warn those you love about their eternal destination, how is that compassionate? We must love as Christ did. That is irrefutable. To do so, we must be kind but firm. John MacArthur talks about the "Primrose path to Hell", and he is spot on. If you affirm their sin and refuse to help them repent, their damnation is partially on you. How's that for love?

By "tackle them", I'm saying you give them a serious wake up call. You tell them that if they don't repent and turn from their wicked ways, they're going to hell for all eternity. She's not saying to be friends with the world. But how else will an unsaved person who knows no Christians find God? God uses people to reach the world in almost every case. I have known gay people, had them over for dinner, had get-togethers, etc, and I have offered them the opportunity to talk about God and the Bible. They declined the offer. But had I not known them well enough to ask that question, it never would have even reached that point. And to this day, we are still on good terms. If they decide to know more about God, they know they can come to my wife and I. We are supposed to be in the world but not of it. But we're not supposed to seal ourselves off and never have any friendly relationships with unsaved people. These should not be our closest friends - that's true - but to say we should have no friends or relationships with non-christians is, in my view, denying the great commission. "How will they hear if no preacher is sent?" We are the preachers, to someone who never goes to church....

Humanity has a shared experience in suffering, but to think this one person took on all of ours, in ways that we won't fully understood until we see Him face to face, in order to save us from eternal separation from Him and everything that is beautiful and good. I can go on and on, but the crucifixion is the event that should break down the hardest of hearts and show us if we are children of God, who IS love. edit: I meant to add, realizing the Father's broken heart over us and His Son leads me to repent every day. You asked me to be "gracious " and "empathetic" . You said I don't have to go to your events like the pride parade. I just include you in my circle. That's nothing more than what Jesus would want. Based on some of the comments I've just read, I understand part of the reasons you feel more safe with your community than with some church people. We all need a support system. It isn't correct to tell people to leave the community that supports them, be it because of sexual expression, false religion, unethical income methods, substance misuse, gang affliations or anything else that becomes a part of our identity with out being prepared to be a better family than the one the Bible says they must leave. As a Christian, I personally never understood why so many Christians had such a problem with sexual preferences, like why is that a thing? Idk, I just don't get it. I myself am bisexual and I have felt shame from other Christians and even thought maybe God doesn't love me and tried to "pray the gay away" but obviously that doesn't work because that's like praying a part of me that makes me me away, if that makes sense. I wish I could answer why Christians act inappropriately by being hateful towards the LGBTQ+ community, but I'm still baffled and trying to still figure that out myself. I also don't see anything wrong with being friends who believe differently than you, in fact it's healthy because you can empathize and see somethings you might be missing or forgot about in your spiritual journey. I have a best friend I've known since second grade who is Wiccan, and we are still joined at the hip. Hate is dumb and illogical especially if it's towards someone's beliefs, preferences that has nothing to do with you in the first place. I think many Christians don't mind their business and are too quick to find fault in others without checking their self first and practice what they preach, because at that point they are just like the pharisees

A lot of Christians have to realise that there is also romantic attraction to the same sex. It isn't just about having sex (although there is a LOT of promiscuity in LGBT circles) - there can also be a deep love between two people like what a husband and wife may feel for one another. Not all LGBT people are engaging in hookups or promoting the destruction of the nuclear family. Many just want to be with their earthly soulmate, just like monogamous, committed straight couples.

Yes, there is a blanket statement about the promiscuity of the LGBTQ+ has and that being the driving force of many Christian arguements on why that homo is bad and hetero is good. To that, there needs to be a shift. For yes, not all just wanna have crazy amount of sex with everyone on sight. However as a believer, to run the idea of placing one self in scenarios, romantic or sexual, where God has not intented us to be in, is not in the will of God. This goes for any hetero or non-hetero commitment of any kind. The point is that if God didn't will it, don't get in it. And how one knows the will of God, is that you get to know Him. The scriptures, in prayer, accountability, and community. I pray more so that all know God fully, His intentions and His love for us, including the beauty of such sacred union and the importance of upholding it, that its not only to showcase earthy societal idealogies, but the message of how God relates to the church. Also that that opportunity to have such union is not the only way to live life or have it be a testiment of God, but just like marriages, singleness is as much as something to strive towards and be honored to have as so relationships. And sadly in both LGBTQ and hetero, we do not push those narratives. But God has, throughtout the accounts in the Bible, in both Old and New Testament. For all are intended to show the glory of God, that union is meant to include God, not for satisfaction of man.

@@mcspinixvids3875 sure. But most do, and that says something… either way homosexuality is far from natural, in fact one of the most unnatural things there is because it’s the fact that “keys and locks” go together that brought us all here in the first place. The very thing that made it possible for the lgbtq+ community to exist is that one man and one woman came together. The media has bamboozled you but that lifestyle is not right. You said they aren’t trying to destruct the nuclear family, well, if you say two men can raise a healthy child and two women can raise a healthy child when you an I BOTH KNOW that men hold certain qualities and women do too that when put together nourish the child mentally providing what they need to be healthy. Like I said lust can feel like love. The very basics of natural sexual human relations is man and WOman, how can the body say one thing and the heart say another? Isn’t that disorientation? How come every male sperm looks for an egg and every female uterus needs sperm to grow a baby. This is basic common sense. And I haven’t even brought up Bible….. but God created us with His laws. In other words we can’t operate and live healthily unless we follow them. If we feel to go the other way then there’s something off, and that’s where the Love of Christ comes in.

@@amandacogger7014 Lol I'm also super late but I think she's more referring to the core of the LGBTQ+ community, not every homosexual/bisexual. There's a level of engagement there that sort of differentiates what's on someone's mind. Like, I've watched some star wars casually. I might buy a t-shirt, but I'm rarely thinking about it. My friend, on the other hand, is thinking about it more often and devours any and all star wars content she sees (not trying to reduce sexuality down to a hobby or interest, I just can't think of any other analogies rn). But it's the group of people deep into the community part of LGBTQ+ who Jackie is talking about, I think. She used to be super engaged with it when she was a lesbian, so her words come from a place of her experience.

Like John and Anne from Exodus ministry, and other gays who had heterosexual relationships, Jackie risk’s ending her marriage in divorce because after a while, you cannot lie to yourself. Many relationships like this fail because platonic love, is not sustainable in a relationship. And if the man or women you are with does not physically love you, then you lose a big aspect of that relationship. Many on these subreddit’s keep lying on God saying he changed them. He probably took them out of real sin and showed them sex is not their identity. But changing sexuality? Majority saying they changed end up exposed as never changing. If it happened to John and Anne and the leaders of EX Gay Movements, and if Beckett Cook and Jackie admit they have the same sex desires still, then I and other LGBT Christians have no reason to take seriously testimonies of God taking away sexual desires.

I had to stop hanging round with certain friends I’d know all my life. I still have many non Christian friends but I removed myself from situations I knew was only going to lead me to sin. The problem is it’s not your identity, and I know it can feel that way! But as Christians are identity is in Christ, this is easier said than done and I compete understand that! But I pray you’ll be able to find a church you can talk to and that will understand!

Reminds me of a cross cultural missions workshop! I think Jackie's unto something here emphasizing the importance of building genuine relationships with unbelievers as a key to effective witnessing. It would've been really helpful to hear a few examples though, not too much so that we won't have an excuse not to *actually* befriend people who aren't like us. 2 potential benefits: (1) Helps Christians become aware of the kinds of stumbling blocks that WE could put in the unbeliever's way (e.g. ungodly spirit or approach to witnessing, personal sins, "the bad and the ugly" of Christian history, etc. NOT the same thing as the offensive nature of the gospel!) & (2) Encourages us to become more thoughtful witnesses. Contextualization isn't everything, and it certainly doesn't mean watering down the gospel, but it's what Paul did when he became all things to all people (1 Cor. 9:22-23). No, nothing can "stop" the gospel, and God is absolutely sovereign! Still, that doesn't remove the possibility of Christians putting stumbling blocks in the way of gospel work. Can God use us in spite of us and redeem the broken? Of course! Praise Him! But that's no excuse for Christians to merely communicate the gospel as if people are homogenous, one-dimensional, without stories or ethnic backgrounds. Like our Lord Jesus, we should really sit down and get to know people, especially the marginalized (despised by both society at large and the religious elite). How humbling that our Lord Jesus, who knew people's hearts, still chose to hang out with sinners like us, get to know us, offer us redemption, and ultimately die for our sins and overcome death by resurrection! All the more reason to befriend people who are not like us to share the love of Christ, while being watchful that we do not become "of this world" or conform to its patterns.

So much to take in from just a 2 minute clip - your books/content have been (somewhat passively) on my list for some time now, Jackie, as I do want to have a better understanding of how I, as a follower of Jesus, who does not have to deal with this temptation, but sees how it would feel like a core part of me if I did. The way that Christianity has generally treated this group of people has often felt disconnected from how Jesus dealt with people and sin, at least the sin of those who were not in power or did not claim to have authority to speak on behalf of God. This clip has me looking forward to engaging with your content even more.

To the people who think that being gay is a choice, does that mean when you were young you could have chosen to be gay if you wanted to? If you answer no to that question, why would you think that someone else could choose to be gay? I honestly don't know why I am gay, but I do know that it had nothing to do with how my parents raised me. I was nowhere near a "momma's boy". I was actually much closer to my dad and spent more time with him than I did with my mom, and he treated me just like any "normaI" dad would treat his son. I was raised exactly the same way and in the same house as my older brother, who turned out to be straight. And I was never sexually abused when I was a kid. I never even knew anyone who was gay until I was 17. Nothing about my childhood was abnormal or out of the ordinary. If it were as easy as just being a choice, I would have chosen to be straight a long time ago, because the discrimination and hatred that many gay people face has tormented me for most of my life. Because of that, I still haven't accepted myself for being gay, unfortunately, from the time I knew that I was different when I was 7-8 years old, all the way up until today. I thank God that there are caring people out there who support and understand the LGBTQ community.

Encouraging their congregations to March with the pride lgbtq is misleading them therefore preaching false teachings

It is not my job to change you. It is not my job to convict you of whatever sin you have in your life and it's not my place to judge you. It is my job to tell you that God the Father loves you unconditionally, and I do too. It is my job to encourage you, minister to you when you ask for help and show you the love of Christ through my actions, works and words. It is my job to pray with you and for you. I will go and seek out those in the LGBTQ community and offer my friendship unconditionally and try to learn and grow to understand your perspectives on life. God gave me the gift of grace. Who am I that I would withhold that grace from someone else...

Safety is very important. Not knowing whether or not it's 'safe' to leave one thing and go into another is critical and it's why people will always hesitate to take a leap of faith.
