I've said it many times- Skip is "Curly" from the movie "The Fan"; a sensitive sports fanatic who lives vicariously through athletes because he aspired to be a pro but wasn't good enough, so attaching himself to them gives him an identity. He disrespects athletes all day long, but the one-time Jalen Rose clowned his high school stats, he had to do a one man play the next day saying how that made him feel.

The clip about Micah Parsons was weird. Some elderly man in an oversized baseball cap screeching in a high pitched voice that a physically towering professional football player was fearful of him was sad. It seemed Skip Bayless is doing some pathetic routine to appear hip and appeal to young viewers. When I was a kid tv shows like "Dragnet" would have some late middle aged man acting in an episode like a young person and the character was clearly looking ridiculous which was the intent of the episode. Skip has morphed in his later years as an older man trying to be younger and it never works.

Skip was a professional troll before most people knew what a troll was. The fact that people thought what he said was a serious opinion ever, really just speaks to how dumb most people are. Don't give patronage to people who do things you dislike and if most people do that, then those people will mostly go away. The best way to deal with a troll is to ignore them.

It's simple way back when Skip wasn't sure of his relevance he realized being hated is worth a lot of money. Same formula as Mayweather, Cowherd, and a gazillion wrestlers. I agree with his Brady stance, though. Mahomes isn't as good as Brady . He's in the Elway, Marino, and Manning bracket.

Unfortunately, Skip has become common in sports media. In the New York City area, this year, a host hung up on Giants legend Carl Banks. What you have hear is "wannabes", who in most cases were not good enough to get a scholarship to college, low-key disrespecting accomplished athletes out of jealousy.

He's not wrong. Too many athletes have podcasts DURING their season. And that works when you're the Kelces or Draymond and you have championships and can rest on your past accomplishments. But for someone like Micah it will always be a 'what if Micah spent that time he spends on his podcast watching film.' And unless the Cowboys win a SB that will always be a low-hanging critique. You can hate Skip and his trolling but he's not wrong about this.

The worst Skip take I remember is him slamming Andrew Luck. After year 2 of Luck & RGIII he claimed RGIII is maybe the best QB he’s ever seen, then a season LATER after Luck brought the Colts back from 38 to 10 to beat KC he got made people were lauding Luck bc he’s only in his 3rd season & is too young. He hates certain athletes for whatever reason & wont move off of it. Him hating on Luck might’ve been part of what started his & Sherman’s feud bc Sherman & Luck were BFFs at Stanford.

I am not defending Skip, but he is partially right about Parsons in that Parsons doesn't show up in the playoffs ( 1 sack in 4 playoff games). Parsons also has a 3-year pattern of fading at the end of the season.

His sack production declines, but his pressure rate remains. That indicates to me that scheme is a huge factor, by the opposition and the Cowboys. It would also help if he could get some holding calls in his favor.
