Hey friends! This is a bit of a fun video on elegance! Elegance is in the eye of the beholder, what is classy to one person, is not classy to another. But these are just my thoughts, and a few hacks on how to look elegant on a budget 😊🥰❤️xx

Elegance comes from within. You are correct that elegant people don't use bad language. Stop saying that you are sorry for being correct. No need to apologise.

Anyone who is in London and interested in being professionally fit for a brassiere needs to go to the Rigby & Peller shop. It’s quite an experience, and you will come away with a perfectly styled under carriage. A corsetiere will pop you in a dressing room, chat about your concerns and have you strip to the waist. She will then just stare at your shape for a minute, NEVER even pulls out a tape measure, and leaves you for a bit, returning with a fabulous selection of PERFECTLY fitting bras which are all stored in walls full of tiny drawers much like Olivander’s Wand Shop in Harry Potter (at least the Knightsbridge shop is like that). It’s amazing. Best fitting EVER. Too bad they lost their royal warrant.

Uniqlo is amazing for good quality affordable basics. My mum also taught me to never wear clothes that have frayed seams, pilled fabrics (from too many washes) and wear bras with good cutting/structure. it’s okay to bring off the rack clothes to a good seamstress to alter them to YOUR body type. A few inches off a dress, a little cinch to a waist or neckline works wonders on how an outfit looks on you!

I swear by second hand shopping - you can land amazing pieces in a good price. I started paying attention to fabrics, swear by wool and cashmere this time of year ☃️

I buy most of my bras from Primadonna and it is so nice to have bras that you don’t have to constantly adjust. In addition to language and posture I think clean skin, and healthy hair and nails also go a long way in making people look ‘expensive’.

Someone once told me, "Cursing is a sign that you've lost control, the same as raising your voice in anger." All of my underwear are skin-toned (beige, in my case), with smooth cups (I'm glad to see the gingham pattern- lace cups look lumpy under my clothes). In my opinion, relaxed confidence is classy.

People have called me a snob for being tall. They will attack you if you have good posture on top of it. Tall people often slouch to compensate. Great video though!

Oh great topic, agree with not swearing and standing up straight, also saying less and not being loud. However I can do the opposite of all of these sometimes 🤣

Agree 100%. Ripped jeans NEVER look classy or elegant, no matter how you dress them up. I wish that trend would die.

I've found wearing a corset helps me not slouch and reminds me to sit up straight. I find clothing that skims the body but isn't skin tight looks great on my top half but in my lower body a fit and flare balances out the proportions of my lower half -my hips being smaller than my shoulders. Finding the fit for your body shape is life changing !

IMO it's the attitude that a person has that makes the difference, there're people who look refined even in pajamas and others who can't be so even when they're wearing the most beautiful clothes.

Nothing in this world compares to a perfectly fitted bra. You will immediately feel on top of the world!

I especially enjoy content like this. I don’t have your clothing budget, but I *can* take the overall principles you discuss and apply them to my own wardrobe.

A lint roller can make a huge difference in making anything you wear look a bit more classy 😊 I also try and avoid buying clothes that wrinkle easily (unless it's a natural fiber and is meant to look a little wrinkled like linen). Thicker, more structured clothes tend to look more expensive

You mean classy people don’t swear in public! But trust me…at home…they let it all hang out! 😂 When push comes to shove ‘classy’ people are just people too!

I'm so sorry but I disagree with the clothes recommandation from UR. Elegance and polyester/acrylic do not go hand in hand (exception made for a rainy jacket or specific items that require plastic). 88$ for a polyester jacket is not a good deal, you will sweat (inelegant) and it won't stay nice for a long time... It seems that most of their clothes are made out of plastic :(

Thank you for sharing the tip about the bra color, I learned that years ago but it's surprising how many people don't know that! Fun video, I liked seeing the outfit combinations you came up with. Love that turtleneck/polo neck sweater, it looks super soft. Your jacket reminds me of one I had ages ago, I found it on a clearance rack, it was pink and I used to wear it with a cream turtleneck. Just goes to show, styles are one big circle.

Posture is very important, you’re so right. My mum used to smack me when I was lazy and wasn’t upright. The right posture became a second nature. Head held up high and ready to show off. ❤

Sophie I feel so thrilled that I have the same bra as you! It’s the yellow and white check with the daisies. They have Rigby and Peller on Madison Avenue at 90 th street in Manhattan (NYC).

Bras can be so tricky to fit properly but look off and possibly ruin an outfit when they dont fit well. I have two from Wacoal that are perfect for me and a third that I bought in a cup size larger for pre cycle swelling. My chest requires bras with a very narrow gore which is a little trickier to find but worth buying multiples when I do.

Fabulous ideas! I have been into Zara to look many times and I would not buy their clothes even if I could fit into them (weight-challenged). But you must be right about coats. By necessity, a coat has to be sturdier. Thank you for the video!

Elegant people do not swear in public, lol. All jokes aside your mother is right, a vocabulary is very important for not only communicating when angry but in general. The fit of clothing changes when people do not were the correct foundation garments. It's not just the right color bra but the correct size of undergarments and body shapewear. I have seen many a dress ruined because shapewear was not worn. Also, there are many people who could benefit from etiquette classes.

The reality is different. You look elegant if you are tall and thin. Yes, if you wear basic and coats and boots versus sneakers and jeans it's more classy, however, all the efforts wearing cheap fabrics if you are not extremely beautiful does not make the same effect. And if the cheap garment is not super new it's immediately visible.

Years ago some women liked a French lingerie firm called Lejaby and I notice that simple, non-glittery jewellery looks good and is trendy now.

Love the outfits but I don’t wear logos. One subtle one on a bag at most. Or maybe a discreet Hermes scarf but nothing over on inch in size.

There has actually been research done on the links between intelligence and swearing. The results actually showed that those who swear in context actually have larger vocabularies. The idea that swearing shows that someone is less intelligent is actually a complete myth.

Do you know why? This is part of my philosophy that I built it when I was teenager not trying to be elegant, but trying to be a better person and choose education to walk in the life. in good and bad times. Later on in my adult life came the elegance but without searching for themI was always searching fot education. The bra fit is supremely important. I used to be a bra fitter and am constantly amazed at women I see wearing the wrong size. If the band is not straight and rides up then it's too large. I think that's the most common mistake.

I love you and your content Sophie, though I have to admit at the end of this video I was thinking "'How to do it [appear classy & expensive] on a BUDGET! Step one: Buy a Dior/Fendi/Gucci handbag.' That's a little.. out of touch, isn't it?" Yes I know step 1 was "don't swear" and step 2 was "work on your posture", and I do realise "budget" means different things for each and every one of us. Still, I can't help but think of the fact that if you can spend £1000 on any piece of clothing/accessory, then you're in no need of a budget.
