ABOUT OUR CHANNEL
My name is Shantanu and I am the founder of Bombay Shaving Company and Bombae.
I LOVE entrepreneurship. Personally, I would rate myself as an average (at best) entrepreneur, but I love great ones.
The BarberShop with Shantanu S2: Raiser’s Edge goes beyond our conversations from S1 on our podcast to tangible help.
With the help of our sponsors at BSC and Bombae we have put together a season which brings together a corpus of 50+ equity seekers looking to support 20+ start-ups in their growth and success.
We will be releasing an episode every Friday at 9 pm. Tune in and hope you enjoy. :)

For someone who claims to help entrepreneurs I wonder why this video was uploaded, surely if the roles were reversed he would be unhappy to have his company and his team being talked down to like this. Bombay Shaving Company in 2024 is still not profitable, and from the demenour and style of questioning Shantanu had while talking to this founder gave me the ''I am better than you'' feeling.

Despite the lack of enthusiasm and pin-pointed details, I loved how Ashu, Toshan and Arjun handled it maturely and gave a positive direction to the COO I definitely want to thank you @shantanu for airing this episode, I am sure it must have been difficult decision to do so but it puts out a clear message that 1. Startups are built not by fluff but real life projections and growth plan 1. Being a founder is way more difficult and the path should be pursued just for the sexy title of "being a founder"

@Shantanu & Team, First of all thank you so much for standing up for the positive change in whole perspective of start up eco system. Regarding the video, I think, We have many avenues like shark tanks and pod casts having successful fund raise stories... In my opinion There is a gap in terms of having no to less such stories of failures... Kudos to the team who have decided to air the episode. As this kind of story brings more value in terms of what not to do rather than what to do... Thanks, Viral

Great learning from this video! this was my first watch on this format of video from Shantanu, just fantastic, true and no drama!! One view from me is that we have big businesses built without looking at numbers as much and analysis/strategic thinking like the McKinsey’s but agree that someone else is not going to put their money in. Early days for these guys imho and many of us like them - needing to get a lot better and learn the craft!!

I think the entrepreneur was very humble and quiet in nature , it's not necessary for every founder to be super energise or faking his personality what I think he was genuinely in his natural state . This is possible he might not be able to sell his idea I agree with this thing but he was understanding plus good listener

Gross margin is one aspect, but for a company/industry which has paper thin margin should be excellent at managing working capital and have an extremely high turn over with probably negative working capital where the customers are paying you in advance to get the product. For that, you need to have differentiating product or services and this business has none. Furthermore, packaging business is very cyclical and one quarter is enough to throw the company of this scale out of the business. This is my assessment and I can be wrong.
