Things I Never Dared Say Until Now - a very honest talk about the beauty community, success, debt, comments left, this is THE NEW YEar Tag.Changing as a woman...setting priorities and letting go. This is the New Year Tag I do every year. I love it that you join me and contribute your feelings as you pick a question or two to answer!
And yes, I did include footage of me and Cooper walking in a snowstorm in 2016. I didn't know that footage was in a video until a lovely subscriber pointed it out to me...so I had to include Mr. Cooper.
I hope everybody is staying safe and warm! Lots of snow here! Thank you for the beautiful comments you left last week. You touch my heart and lift me up every week. You are amazing!
Love Always, Susan & Desi

Only been with you a short while but enjoy your videos. Its a big year for me at 82 and after 18 years my man and I are making it legal and getting married in Spring on my 55 year old sons birthday. So everybody round here in The old country town of Devizes in Wiltshire says "thank goodness something nice to look forward to. " so we are a public service it seems. He proposed 18 years so and I said "I'll think about it" well I've made up my mind now. I remember my grandmother saying when she was 72 and crippled with rheumatoid arthritis "inside I still feel 17" and I thought as a 20 year old I don't see how you can but now I am there in fact 10 years older than she managed I feel like that too. Pretty blessed and looking forward. Happy new year to you and the pooch from an English old lady.

Hello Susan. My word for 2022 is “JOY”. I’m 67 and living on my own now for almost 4 yrs. The last couple of years were hard but yet good. I bought a small condo all by myself ☺️ in 2021. My mortgage is the only debt I have. It took a lot of self discipline to get to this place and here I am. I feel so blessed. The reason we complain about the “past” is because our “present” isn’t working. Don’t let the past steal the blessings of “today”. Much love ❤️

I agree with this 100%. He is how I got though my tribulation 11 years ago. I lost everything, think Job, and now have it all given back 10 fold. God has my life in his hands, I want for nothing and I fear nothing anymore. I am proof He is real to those who give their lives to Him.

Managing a surgical facility and working 10-12 hours to try and help the patients heal and staff maintain employment is no easy feat! Not what I thought I would be doing at this age. I can’t wait to see you and Desi every week. Your honesty and open heart are so comforting and grounding for me. We have so much in common, no Daddy, divorced, love of beautiful pictures. I saw in my book of blessings this morning “ Dear God, we trust you to show us joy when the time comes. We know that good follows bad. Please help us to be patient”. I consider you a blessing and you just asked for my word for 2022……BLESSINGS. You are one of mine,

Susan, You have changed so much. Your personal growth over the years is phenomenal. Success is not measured by how much money a person has. This world tries hard to sell that lie. Success is measured by the people we have in our lives and how we touch others and what we leave behind. Several years ago, I just had to really had to de-tech myself from all the clamoring and noise. Single at 58 I love my life. I enjoy thrifting, buying flowers, planting flowers in my very little space on this earth. Sweet friend, you are a whole person, a wonderful kind person please don’t ever by into the lie that you need a man to make you whole. Blessings to you and Desi.

I am sitting here at my cottage home of the last 20 years of single life and I am surrounded by boxes! After losing my beloved Fluffy (bichon/poodle) to cancer in September, I realized I don't have to stay here anymore. My 6 pound Georgie doesn't require a large fenced in yard. So his passing closed a door and opened a new life. I have bought a condo in Mississauga, Ontario. So George and I are packing up, praying for good weather on Wednesday and moving to a wonderful new experience. Close enough to come back and visit dear friends and family. I am so eager to see how this move will challenge, inspire and motivate me. At 71 I am nowhere near done! Decorating my condo, meeting new friends, continuing to grow my small homebased business and seeing more of my family down there in the city should keep me busy! I so enjoy your videos Susan, it is inspiring to watch you grow in beauty and wisdom in real time.

Hold the phone here. I'm reading all the comments expressing approval for your decision not to hold up products. I watch you for your photography, your story telling, your realness. But I came here in the first place because I had been looking at mature makeup videos. I was interested in learning about products and makeup tutorials for hooded eyes and 69 year old skin. Your channel came up as recommended. I got the information I was looking for from some of the mature beauty channels, and I tune into them from time to time to see what's new. But I never miss one of your videos because I came for the makeup but I stayed for the woman. And along the way I did learn about some nice products, especially ROSEHIPS OIL which I love and use all the time. So no, you don't need to hold up products to have value, but there is value in your sharing about the things that have worked for you .You rock, Susan 🌹

Hi Denise....Thank you for telling me how you found me and Dez. I look forward to seeing you and your words every single week!!! I think what I said about going into debt buying products didn't come out like I had planned. I love sharing great finds with my gal pals here.! I love showing some cool things at the stores we love....Venus is the only company I work for 6 times a year and I have oh so much fun doing those little fashion shows. Rosehip Seed Oil changed the life of my skin and I think every year it gets a little better even those I am aging. What I meant for me was there is more to who I am on KZfaq than a reviewer. And I can say that about every single content creator. Many do not want to share anything about their life...and I understand that. The point I was trying to make it somewhere along the line we got it drummed into our heads that unless we are holding up a product we have no value to anybody. And that is how I felt...and I know other ladies feel that way..and they got into debt as I did. And there is nothing wrong with being a reviewer as long as it's what you truly want to do. But for me, for many years I was so insecure...I would spend endless time reviewing things I had no interest in only so I could get to the story part of the video. It's been such a journey. And a gamble too. I wish I could find a way to thank you for everything you have given me these past years....I adore you.

Last January my sons house burned down while I was babysitting my grandsons My youngest son told us he never wanted see us again No explanation or allowed to speak with him. Next our older son who has our grandsons separated from his wife after16 yrs Then in August we found out why my husband had been so sick for months. Stage 4 lymphoma . we just found out the treatments he had in October didn't work. New test will determine what's next for him At 68 years old its really hard to go through this . Ready for a new year We believe he will be healed of this awful cancer and the rest is in Gods hands Not ours to handle

I think my word(s)for 2022 are “good health” and “declutter”. 5 years prior to retirement in 2014 I wrote out everything. I was determined to not have any bills, drive the same car and enjoy my retirement. I was successful at my goals. I have not purchased any lotions, potions or makeup since 9-2018. Using up what I have and putting the cost of a finished product in my travel fund. This fund is quite large now and travel 🧳 has halted since 3-2020. I was able to take a few short trips and it was nice paying in cash for everything. Love seeing Desi in your videos. He is adorable with his overbite and bow tie. 🐾🐶 Many blessings to you Susan. 😎❤️💄Kathy

Hi Susan, the sentence "i never had a father " fills me with sadness. My father was the love of my life ( pre children ).A tall, handsome, reserved Irish gentleman. Hard working, well respected and as softly spoken as he was, funny in his moment. When we were together i observed people looking at us knowing that we were so precious to eachother. I went to college in Belfast 1980.There was a local disco on a Sunday night. Not wanting to miss the disco ( god forbid ).I went back to college on a Monday morning. Catching a bus at 6am.Sometimes not having been to bed.My father got up each Monday morning to leave me to the bus.Until offcourse i caught myself on and went back to college on Sunday night like most students. I love and miss my daddy every single day.☘ I love your "f word" Susan.Keep you for you.♥️

I've always looked up to women who are older than me - it's such an honor to see you thrive, and it gives me hope and inspiration that I might be that for others myself! I think women who have gone through great difficulties and managed to keep themselves put together are THE MOST BEAUTIFUL women on this planet. I love how you keep yourself - you look AMAZING! I love how you decorate and the skills you have to blow me away. You are an actual role model for those like myself who have too few in life. I love the word FREEDOM - I pray this year gives you an abundance of that and many more beautiful gifts to open with each passing month in 2022. You are who I want to be, and for that, I thank you!

Glad you’re posting on Friday again! My word for 2022 is Forward. After all we’ve endured with the pandemic I want to move forward. Not in an irresponsible way but just to get things moving in a good direction. I’d like to try my hand at painting some artwork for my place. Haven’t been able to find anything I like online so will create it myself. Have never done anything like this so it should be an adventure. I’ll have my credit card paid off this month. In my earlier years, I took a painting class with others aged 20 - 80, some of whom had NEVER painted and we had the best time. Everyone turned out a real piece of art that we were all proud of. Happy Painting, Jill !!!!! ENJOY !!!! 💕

Happy 2022. I too turned 68 years old In 2021 and if all goes well I'm heading down my last (give or take) 20 years. No time for second guessing myself anymore, time to go forward with confidence and to enjoy this gift of life - hard times and good times too. Has never been all easy or all hard - that's part of it - responding to our lives by being positive, kind, and understanding. Sharing with others, family, friends, neighbors and having fun with it! I'm content with the life I have, my little house I live in, my grown up family, my beautiful grandchildren! I'm lucky to be blessed and grateful! You asked which might have been our favorite video from this past year and it's the one you mentioned, it was so meaningful! This one meant a lot to me also because when I turned 60, I went into a depression...I have fought depression my whole life but when 60 hit, I thought I should just hang it up and wait for death...I felt that I would never be able to lose weight, why should I try but the more I felt like this, the more I wanted to buy more make up and clothes but they became a form of burying myself! Now I am 64 and the last year I have begun to feel I want to fight that, I won't ever have my 24 year old skin, my body has changed and, yes, watching my new grandson makes my arms ache but I thought this morning, "they ache with love".... That is my motto for this year....They ache with Love! For everything I feel and touch and all.... I'll quit blabbing but I wanted you to know how much your talks have meant to me and how much I learn from you each week... Thank you!!! XXOO

I have never seen a fur baby that makes me smile and literally laugh out loud when I see his precious little face! And that video single and alone , had such a huge impact on me and my life, I can't even put it into words how powerful that video was to me, in a very profound way. And I also wanted to add that I like the video clip that you just showed where you were outside in the snow waving at Bill when you couldn't go in to see him, but you would go to the nursing home- and wave at him from his window and I can't put it into words how the many times when I watched you do that, it really emotional and so powerful and I wish I could find the right word to express this feeling that I have, but anyway I can relate to you in so many ways. the comparisons are really uncanny, it would be pretty amazing if we could get together and talk about our lives and how very similar they are, I feel so comfortable watching your videos I know I would be extremely comfortable hanging out with you and I think I would feel free saying things that maybe I never said to anyone else I just know for a fact that I would be completely comfortable around you. One of the hardest things bringing a child into the world that does not have a father my daughter never met her dad 36 years old oh, you are a wonderful role model young women and girls that they can have a wonderful life even if the father is not in involved

The weight gain we get after menopause and upon retirement is hormonal. Look at every older man and woman and you can see how their bodies have changed. You will prolly not lose any weight. I was always 97 lbs, got down to 89 lbs. when my life imploded 11 years ago (you could see my ribs), and now I am 130 lbs and flabby as all get out. Whod'a thought? But it is a fact of life. At our ages who cares anymore?

My word for 2022 is Cultivate…which is “to improve by labor, care, or study : REFINE” turning 65 this year and want to refine my life to only those things which make my life richer, more meaningful.. to have more time for relationships and with my Savior. I’m so grateful to have found your channel a couple years ago and look forward to it each week. God Bless Susan! 🌷

I agree with everything you said, but the main thing that resonated with me was that we need to recognize the things within ourselves that we need to work on and change. That's means facing our deficits as well as our strengths and being willing to really do the work to change those things that don't serve us well in life. Sometimes easier said than done. Life is over too fast as it is so why give up when you still have life to live? I enjoy the talks with you and could care less about "products". Desi is certainly a star and is entitled to as much screen time as he demands. :))

I am really liking the new Susan. I'm not so much into all the product stuff and I think you have so much to offer that you certainly don't need that. I hope you and Desi have a wonderful year. Thanks for sharing!

Awesome feeling to be completely out of debt. That is also something I did in 2021 , Instead of paying interest my money is now working for me instead of the opposite. I used to get into debt by buying products and things to help me feel pretty. Good skin care is important but I realize that being free and happy with an open heart help make us more beautiful. I relate to you so much and I am appreciative of your sharing so much. I am 69 in two months. I still feel young except when i let myself feel anything but the wonderful light of who I am, in fact who we all are.. Yes to a wonderful new chapter. My word for the year is trust. thanks for the inspirations.

I just started following you a couple of months ago. You make me laugh and smile! Thank you for putting your real self out there. I love your honesty about your personal life. It's good to see the growth you've experienced in your life and that you had the courage to present what a mature woman is able to be and accomplish in the more advanced years of her life. You are a wonderful example. Keep going!
