I remember when I was "Scene" and it was fun, it is a phase and I knew that all along. But hating on their style is really mean. I got hated on a lot, it's not fun at all... it really hurts. Kids are gonna be kids, and teenagers are gonna be teenagers, everyone goes threw a phase at some point in their life, they may go threw one, or maybe 10. It's just part of growing up, there is no reason to make fun of them.

I mean, it's not always a phase. Well, I can't relate to being emo I'm more on metal/punk side. And well I've been like this since I was a kid and I'm 24 years now and still looking and rocking the same style and choice in the music. But that's because my parents were into metal as well therefore I grew up like this.

Exactly. I still wear my old outfits though, mainly just skinny jeans, t-shirts and accessories, but I don't do my hair much unless it's cutting or dying it a red or dark color. But I agree. Kids go through phases and they're just trying to find themselves as a person. I don't understand why people are dicks about it.

i never searched for it, KittyMizuki. i was watching different 'what ... say' videos and than this one popped up in the sidebar. i havent heard of scene kids in years, so having a little teenage flashback, i clicked on it. I thought we all grew up and became adults. i wasnt aware that there was a new generation of them. dont get offended so fast, kiddo. :D when i had those racoon eyes, you were probably still in elementary school.

Even tho its 2020, thanks to tiktok, I've really started to love the "scene kid" aesthetic and choice of clothing tbh. It's hard to look for people who actually like it nowadays. My sisters back in the late 2000s were scene kids up until around 2014-2015. I always looked up to my older sisters and they loved and enjoyed the scene look. But years later, ive actually started to love it. I don't know about wearing it, but I do have a deep love for it not only because I think it's freaking awesome and cute, but it also brings back memories of when my sisters were into it ❤️

@fluffyfluff oh its easy start out buying skinny jeans, black or for the scene style white or blue or red, Grow out the hair to a emo look, an to straighten it use a hair straightener, eyeliner if your into black eyeliner, band shirts or whatever you think is cute, band bracelets, necklaces, converse shoes skater shoes high tops, osirus shoes, or just go on google an ask how to be emo scene and it'll help with outfit related ideas to start your cool style. Theres videos on how to do the emo hair on youtube if you want the emo girl look or the emo guy look. And to the people saying emo scene died then why is the band black veil brides still making new music in 2020 and 2021? Clearly the style never left. 🐧👻👾🎮 Hope this info helpeld.

I assure you, Blood On The Dance Floor did not create the term PLUR. It was old school candy kids (ravers) that popularized the term. Like early to mid-90's

Blake Robinson No, BOTDF's meaning is the same- Peace Love Unity Respect. Dahvie seems to be really big on that phrase too. He uses it constantly during interviews and concerts.

See, I don't know about anyone else, but ever since I got out of highschool (and this also applies to junior high) years ago, I've noticed everyone grew out of this labeling shit. We wear clothes. That's all it is. We no longer care what anyone else is wearing. There's no more preps, goths, scene kids, emo bitches, etc or at least they're very rare. The word "poser" doesn't really exist either as an adult. I remember you got picked on in school for wearing Walmart clothes or some cheap ass sneakers. You had to pretty much wear ONLY Hollister, Abercrombie and Fitch, Aero, etc to fit in with the preppy, popular kids, otherwise you'd be mocked for your clothing. I remember there was a "skater" stage to, where Adios, Elememt, Chocolate, Girl, Lakai, Etnies, etc was popular. Now no one gives a shit as an adult. It's like a breath of fresh air being graduated. Ugh. Now, if I wore something like "scene-ish", "emo", or any of those weird labels in school, I would probably look like a ridiculous adult wanting to be a kid again or just never grew out of it.

this era was fun! it was popular when i was in elementary so i never really got to join in, i wore extensions/feathers and crazy clothes though. kinda wish it would come back now that im in highschool, though there’s some aspects of it i wish would stay in the past tbh..

Amazingly scene is still somewhat alive, it's just nowhere near as popular. It basically died along with myspace and there are just a few stragglers left around keeping it alive.
