@@Crimbtw also making your child get a job is very wrong. for one, it’s not their job to fend for themself. as long as they are with you, they are your responsibility. even in low income families, i was never forced to get a job because a parent decides to have a child, not the other way around, and by doing so you signed up to take care of them whenever they need it. you can discuss it with your child, but at the end of the day if they’re not ready then they’re not ready. you can teach a child how to handle money responsibly, how to have responsibilities, how to take care of themself without forcing a job upon them
@susannah83423 жыл бұрын
@@babybrin5118 I think getting your kid a job is alright as long as it's been agreed upon by both the parent AND the child. It teaches them how the workplace operates and gives them experience, it also gives them a bit of money that's theirs which they can do whatever they want with it. However, if it is just the parent that wants the kid to get a job and the kid is opposed to the idea, the kid is at least owed an explanation as to why, and it should be made clear what the benefits are and if the kid is still opposed then it shouldn't be forced onto them.

No it won't. Unless you are pushed, will you REALLY ever get around to doing something that makes you uncomfortable? Or do you notice how you just so happen to try and make your life as comfortable as possible and so may never be social which MIGHT ACTUALLY be good for you? You may not like it, but what if it helps you?
@undefinederror404043 жыл бұрын
@@mywittyromance Watch out with pushing! You might not like it, so what if that makes you hate it even more and distrust the people who forced you out? And it does happen over time, without pushing. I used to barely hang out with anyone in highschool, because I couldn't actually relate to them and talk about my (gaming) hobbies. Now I have proper friends with similar interests and personalities, and we hang out a lot more. Some level of getting out of your comfort zone can be helpful, but pushing is a dangerous and thin line. What I think is best, is to sit down with your kid and discuss what both of you want. Try to kindly explain your worries and what you want for/from them. Try to find a middle ground between your ideals, preferably one that doesn't make your kid angry(so maybe leaning more to their ideal). That's a lot better than "do this because I tell you so". They might actually surprise you by telling you that they have a plan.

Forcing you to constantly hang out with your one cousin you don't like, though? That's never gonna work. Again, teenagers, like the rest of PEOPLE, will always have some people they just don't like. And you shouldn't have to justify it, if you don't want to. Not everyone is meant to get along, especially not at all times in their lives. That's OKAY. It's normal. It's entirely human. You should be expected to remain CORDIAL with people you don't particularly like, but you shouldn't have friendship forced upon you. That's not how it works. And your parents should respect your decision, if you tell them you don't want to spend YOUR free time with that person or persons. At family get-togethers, you will have to be CORDIAL (important life skill that you will have to use for the rest of your existence), but you shouldn't have to have that person thrust on you, like a familial obligation. It's not doing anyone any good.
@maryly26883 жыл бұрын
@@mywittyromance hanging out with friends is supposed to be fun. Being forced to hang out with someone when you have no control over who it is/what you do isn’t.
