Riptide’s character was COMPLETELY WASTED. He could’ve had such a better role to play but he was written as a vanilla Chad. He could’ve been so interesting. Justice for Riptide!

I actually would like to remind people, that the dragon parents are such horrible parents in WOF, that Tui specifically thanked her parents for not being like them in The Lost Continent. I just find that so interesting and kinda hilarious.

'I hate Dragonshe-' NO. NO. NO. DEATH. Also, MudWings are overhated, and they are one of my fav tribes because 6 yr olds don't understand that at least the MudWings are a decently moral and non-overpowered tribe :]

To be fair the Graphic Novels aren't too bad in my opinion. Getting the first GN at my 5th grade book fair is the only reason I'm here today!

Ok but for me the graphic novels are actually kind of good.. I don’t like how they took out some of the stuff from the regular books, but I like admiring the art because I could never draw like that-

The Dark Secret is honestly such a good book though. Starflights developement, the whole atmosphere.. I instantly liked it and it stood out amongst the other books of the first arc. The only thing I didn't really like was the constant presence of Fatespeaker. I know she's supposed to be Starflights "light at the end of the tunnel" but she can get pretty annoying and I feel like her personality is maybe a little much for him. She's the kind of character you'd expect Sunny to be at first. "I love Fatespeaker, sehr was great" is definetly another thing a lot of people wouldn't say lmao Oh yeah and Riptide was the squidbrain guy

Whirlpool is by far my favourite character, his arc was amazing, he learned a lot when he got zapped by eels!

I actually like Anemone and Anemone x Tamarin… I’ve read the whole series and still genuinely like them I feel like a lot of Anemone’s hate is undeserved when so many people LOVE Darkstalker Like- she’s not half as bad… and she’s still learning but most of her life so far has been spent in a bait-and-switch between control/abuse and pampering?

Lmao unpopular opinion. I don't see moon as a Mary Sue, but I can see why a lot of ppl see her that way. I have a bias cause I relate so hard with her social anxiety and fears of being hated if she is herself.

It's the fact that about half of the major problems in this book series could have been avoided if the dragons with animus powers actually stopped for a moment and thought before they cast a spell

I actually really do love Moonbli, The Dark Secret and Anemone 😭

Personally, I love Anemone, and one of my favorite ships are Anemone X Tamarin. No I do not agree with Anemone’s behavior throughout a majority of the 2nd arc, however I love her character development and I loved to see how she changed. Also I cannot blame her, growing up as a princess who always had everything right at her talons, it kinda would become nature after it is repeated over and over again, and she got so used to it she was like that even outside of her kingdom. It took her a long time for her to discover that it was not right, and she’s probably still adjusting to it all. Anemone is young, she is learning and I love watching her grow and see her love for her brother Turtle after they came to terms after the animus battle.

Someone who says Starflight’s book, The Dark Secret is their favorite. Deserves nothing else except respect, a truly underrated book in the series.

A someone who read the rest of Wings of Fire because of the graphic novels, the seventh one annoyed me in the opposite way.

I remember drawing a fanfic where whirlpool had a sister who killed an animus because she learned he died and a nephew who has been played but is still is friends.

I think things that should be added to "Wings of Fire" fans never say. "Darkstalker shall rise again!" Because you know making earrings that cancel Darkstalkers spells and giving them to literally every Dragon in Pyrrhia isn't a recipe for disaster or anything.

While I wouldn't necessarily call the forth book my most favorite, I did actually really like it. The lore about the Nightwings was really interesting too. Coming from a guy who's favorite tribe is the Nightwings. Right next to the Rainwings. I'd say my favorite book was actually the 14th one. The 15th was awesome too but lacked so much potential and very much needed context that it failed to add. Very disappointing in that regard.

i dont really mind whirlpool. hes an awful person and is a total creep but thats the point. hes not my favorite, but hes a lil underrated imo

I LOVE STARFLIGHT he and moon and cricket are my faves. And no. Moon is not a Mary Sue. The graphic novels are honestly great for what they are. Scavengers are actually quite interesting, but come on, they’re no dragons! I do remember riptide, but I’ve read all the books FAAAAR too many times lol. Sunlow I feel crosses from “true love” into “supreme tail-kissing” and as a result I never got past the first few chapters of book 13, and read the wiki summary instead. Despite that I still love arc three though!

Attack me if you want but my favorite book for the first arc is Starflight's book The Dark Secret. I think it expanded on Starflights character quite a bit and it let us know why the Nightwings were so desperate. I honestly feel bad for the Nightwings because almost immediately after they finally started getting their lives back on track in the rainforest Darkstalker comes in as the guy with "free candy" and baits them into dying for a war that is only for petty revenge. Also yes before you ask I am one of the people who thinks animus magic is not a born curse. You don't lose your soul by using your magic. Fathom was living proof of that since he lived a happy life in the end with Indigo. It's like what people say about video games. It's not the games causing you to do bad stuff it's your own life choices that make it that way for you. That is all I have to say.

If I made my own video like this, it would say something like 'saying that it's canon is a great reason/justification for why you ship something and should pester other people until they ship it too!'.

My two inner sides are fighting on whether I should like or dislike this video, please help 😭

Moon watcher is not a Mary Sue, she is what I call a Mary Sue with flaws.

I can definitely confirm that you stated the entire truth. No wings of fire fan would ever say these things…except for about Winterwatcher and Moonbli. Those 2 ships have the cannon stamp of approval.

Whirlpool is actually my favorite wings of fire character. like I’m not even joking The reason why is actually a bit more complicated but TLDR; morally complicated but still unredeemable slimy characters who you’d never want to meet in real life are my favorite. The treatment of characters like whirlpool are ten times more interesting than characters like darkstalker because trying to MARRY a child is slightly less redeemable in my heart than murder in a book series. Whirlpool and darkstalker have their morally GREY parts, if it weren’t for tiny snippets of redeemability they’d just be morally black. Whirlpool was only trying to marry anemone so that he could be king. Is that still ok? No! It doesn’t excuse his actions at all but it plays a very reasonable explanation for why he would do such a thing, he makes sense as a character. He’s fairly human, there are real life people that are like whirlpool and that’s why he’s so interesting to me. I wish we got more characters like him

excuse me but the graphic novels are how i found the wings of fire series in the first place -_- yup i was just in a library one time and there it was the hidden kingdom graphic novel i recognized the title "wings of fire" so i decided to give it a read since i was curious and i LOVED IT but then i soon realized the graphic novels are just a version of the series and not the true original books so here i am now officially on the original books i honestly like the original books alot but i still appreciate the graphic novels for what they are the artstyle is nice and they're much shorter then the original books which makes them easier to read in my opinion plus i like pictures and art in general and there isn't as much art in the original books also I'm more then happy to add to my collection of graphic novels whenever a new one comes out i promise I'm a fan of wings of fire i enjoy the creativity of the abilitys and designs of the dragons and the continents are pretty cool as well i like pyrrhia better though but that's just my opinion okay it's fine you're opinion is different i wouldn't say I'm obsessed with the series but i still like it so you see? you can say you really like the graphic novels and still be a wings of fire fan i mean some people just like pictures that's all no need to judge

Okay but like- I get stuck in the middle of books because of how often I switch fandoms and hyperfixate on them, so I actually do like Moonbli and Winterwatcher. Haven't been actually into the ships for a long while, but I think the ideas can be cute. Honestly the mudwing comment, in all it’s layers of sarcasm, made me disagree lmao. And honestly I do like the mudwings, their tied with icewings as my favorites, and in all honesty I think that they are far more facinating, especially after the snowfall(?) book, where the class system got dismantled(?) though I still haven’t read it cause I don’t have the most recent ones yet ueueue. But we barely get to see the mudwing tribe, and I think that’s kinda unfair? Especially after nearly book in the first part exploring the culture of each different tribe their part of. And it’s probably cause it’s the first book but man do I really wanna see more of them. And also let’s not kid ourselves the mudwing kingdom has the most dragons in it, they have mating nights once a month, and these egg clutches have we can guess 3-7 eggs each time, and also since these dragons are no doubt on a romantic spectrum cause their culture does not push the “pair up and start a family” ideal, their culture pushes a “these are your siblings, protect them,” ideal. They are extremely family oriented, and honestly as someone on the aromantic spectrum myself they are really fun to see them and go “!! Me!! That’s me!!” But that’s a side thing lmao. Also their sibling dynamic? Is so sweet? They learn everything themselves, with their big wings to protect them and they protect their big wings in return, it’s amazing love them. Also??? The queen?? Like fr there is not very many queens who love their heirs the way that morhen does, and also coral is a helicopter mom who sees her daughters somewhat as objects not as people who can protect themselves, and she could care less about her sons who she has more of than she can fucking count. I haven’t actually been able to read the most recent icewing book but she seemed like a p good queen, and hopefully a good mother cause those things are not mutal, but Morhen’s heirs are her sisters, and probably a clutch or two of her own or her family’s. It’s just?? I love her?? Because she cares about her sisters so much and they in return, and when the next queen tries to take her place there is a literal pack of siblings to fight through. Basically the mudwings truly are interesting and I want to see another book from their perspective, and not clay’s siblings, I want to see new siblings and new mudwings. Please. Cause these are dragons that would, give up everything for eachother(as seen with umber) Also just their biology is fucking wild, love these lil bastards so much, their great, love them. Also non of this mean!! Or meant to be!! I just really love these guys, and I wanted to jot down a few of my thoughts on them, their amazing mudwings are so fun, love them so much.
