Thanks for sharing that Yulia, I wish I watched your list when coming to Canada! Also, a very odd thing is that the voltage in Canada is also lower, which may cause some power adaptor issues for some types of electronics too 🙈

Highly recommend if you are coming to Canada to request copies of your medical files and pay to have the last 5-years translated into English or French (depending on where in Canada you are moving). Also get all copies of your perscriptions translated. You will need to see a doctor to get your perscriptions renewed and what you normally take may not be available and your doctor and pharmacist will need to work to find the appropriate meds for you.

Another gem from Yulia. Where I work there is a lady named Yulia (she is fairly new there) and today I was at her desk helping her (I'm in IT) and I noticed the accent. I didn't ask her where she is from, but I think she was heavy on the Russian accent. :)

ok for the canadians watching this, how many of you wear pajamas? everyone i know either sleeps buff naked, or we wear a night gowns or we wear a set of sweats. this includes us that share our bed (not with girlfriends/boyfriends but with friends and family)

I have a question relating to Comp Science Undergrad Degree awarded by colleges ( eg, Seneca, Humber) and Degree awarded by universities ( eg, UOT, Univ of Waterloo).Do they hold the same importance and value from job standpoint. Appreciate if you can help.

my pleasure! it depends on where you work after. if you're aiming for a big company, you might need a degree. if you're okay working for someone small, college should be good for you. but again, in IT people care about your skills rather than your education. hope that helped!

I've heard some Indian students carried ready to eat non dry food packets with them for the quarantine and they declared them when asked. They were good to go.

an unlocked phone is a phone that works with any sim card in the world. if you bought your phone for a full price, most likely it's an unlocked phone :)

As we are in the first raw in therms of organic foods I wanted to import 200kg seeds and grains and powders... I had no chance to import thus things...so we are forced to eat crap instead of healthy greens.... (you simply can't compare European organic standards with Canadian standards in food growing)
