You are beyond lucky!!!! I envy you indeed my fellow fan. She is a real gem who is shamefully under-rated. She deserves the top rate treatment as a star. With her talent. She could be hailed among her generation as the "New heir to the soprano throne". :)

I'm with you! Her cadenza was vibrating off the walls of the Majestic Theatre. I have this gigantic list of theatre music I want this lady to handle in the future. In a time of hiring "too squeaky" for this role. Elizabeth is a breath of fresh air!!!!!! She puts a certain someone to such shame it really is a travisty she had to be the understudy for Broadway while that "other" person got dibs on the principal status.

Who is the "other" person??

Jessica Wu A performer I'm not fond of in the slightest but I know that "a lot" of other people are. As such I keep that person's name to myself. My friends (who agree with me about said person) use our code when the videos are on public display.

Elizabeth still is a understudy though :((, although I absolutely love the current Christine (Meghan Picerno) I would be great if Elizabeth Welch became the principal Christine!! She’s one of my favorites

@@toastandbread9267 Hello there. So sorry it took such a long time to respond. YT didn't notify me of your reply. And apparently I haven't been on this video in such a long time either. Wonderful to not only meet another Elizabeth fan. But somone also fond of Meghan Picerno. They're both fantastic in this coveted role. Along with one of rarities of a true Lyric Coloratura taking on this score. Not an insult by the way towards the Lyric sopranos. Naturally they're all splendid as well. I just think it's great Elizabeth and Meghan have the tone and range that the Gaston Leroux envisioned. :)

Max Powell I thought the understudy filled in for the main Christine if the main couldn't be there. Ali ewoldt was out for a week due to illness, and Welch filled her spots all week.

I know that Elizabeth performs two matinees a week. I believe that if the full time Christine is out, Elizabeth will take over. If Elizabeth cannot do it, then it goes to the understudy, but I’m not entirely sure. As Max said, they might use Elizabeth more often because she is very experienced. Also, fun fact: my aunt is good friends with Elizabeth and for my birthday this year I saw the show with her as Christine and then went backstage afterwards. Even got to meet Ben Crawford and it was amazing :)

@@mollymcgoldrick1618 Wow that’s so cool. Like really cool. I saw Elizabeth about 3 weeks ago at a matinee show and she was amazing. The entire show was incredible. Ben and Jordan are also very talented, and have great vocal power. The whole cast deserves credit. That cast at the Majestic is something really special, easily one of the best casts ever!
