1) I’ve met many people who, if seen in a photo, would get a lower number but in person are absolutely magnetic. 2) Botox and fillers look great when done properly. 3) You CAN increase your “number”. Posture, makeup, hair, clothing all go into how attractive you are to others. The tiniest effort makes a huge difference not just in how you appear, but how you feel about yourself, and how you feel about yourself plays a huge factor in how attractive you are.

1.) Agreed and I fall into that same boat (i.e. people have told me I'm MUCH more attractive in person than in photos). It's also another reason why I HATE dating apps-- because they run almost exclusively on pictures; 2.) Also agreed. Several of my past girlfriends had work done and I thought they came out looking better rather than worse; and 3.) That's not completely inconsistent with what TBYS said-- he did say that you can dress nice, get in shape, and all that. I think what he's saying is that you can't increase your maximum.

Well it is also true that in a handful of African cultures, a fat/obese woman is viewed as more “attractive” as a mate because her heftiness is a sign of wealth. In cultures where the general population lives with scarcity, a woman being fat must mean that she comes from a wealthy family, which means by him marrying her, he also attains abundance. They understand that in their environment, the only way a woman could become that size, is if she has access to a plentiful supply of food/resources, therefore the men will try to win favor with her so that they can attain that same abundance. This “attraction” could potentially be passed down genetically/subconsciously, even if he doesn’t realize it.

If we all stopped living in denial we'd all be better off. I was in an abusive relationship and no one wanted to tell me the truth of my situation, I had gained about 60lbs being in that relationship. When I got out of it, it's because I realized I didn't want to live in a sad reality so I broke it off and worked off the weight. Now I'm engaged to my soulmate who I can be honest with and is honest with me. Life only gets better if you work to make it better.

Ok so I am hoping you want honesty and not pandering here. Women have real low standards after 25. If you aren’t fat and have all your own hair and teeth then you are attractive. I live in Scotland. The men look as you’d expect. They still get dates. It’s called having a personality. If you can talk to women and make them laugh, you’ll get laid a lot as long as you are prepared to go for older women. Stop trying to impress 9/10 young women. They will never be interested. Im a 5ft 5 110lb woman in her 30s. The shear amount of old, extremely fat, bald, etc men that message me in dating apps is crazy. And they don’t even have good chat. “What are you up to tonite? X (as if id meet a stranger from a dating app straight away like I want to be murdered)” “I think we would be a good fit (but then proceeds to no nothing about me as he hasn’t read my bio)” I could go on but the point is most men who can’t get laid have personality issues or are simply aiming too high or both. I won’t return a message from even a rich old guy. And I have blocked plenty of men who I was keen on until I got to know them. The latter tend to complain that women are fussy. Women can be picky. It’s true. But most women (ie women not girls) are just looking for a nice guy who can make them laugh and also spends a little time on himself at the gym and in the shower.

If they need to say something unpleasantly true or harsh, they start with something nice, or give a compliment, then say what they want to say, and finish it off with a compliment. Things like hair, make up, dress, body shape and how you carry yourself can change your ‘number’ DRASTICALLY. These are all things you can change. I’m not saying everyone needs to spend a lot of time and effort looking good. And having good genetics definitely helps. BUT the more effort you put into your looks, the more attractive you’ll be.

a topic like this is pretty difficult to me, i feel like attractiveness is entirely subjective, but then again there are features that are conventionally attractive and unattractive. the dude with the king hair who seemed to always get low ratings would been at least an 8 for me. while carter, on the other hand, is fat and i don’t find that physique attractive, but has a cute face, so i would’ve given her a 4 or 5. the tall asian dude looked like a 9 to me as well. but attractiveness always loses its power when ppl open their mouths, you can go from a ten to a three real quick depending on how you treat others and talk in my eyes. another thing is what one person finds 11/10 attractive, you may find incredibly unattractive, most of it comes down to preference. i didn’t intend to rant in this comment lol sorry abt that
@bluaezul
@bluaezul Жыл бұрын
I kinda agree with you cause this topic is also difficult to me. It's like, atractiveness can be subjective in all of us as individuals, but as a whole we know wich features we like more to see. We know who is in general atractive and who isn't. At the same time it really depends on how people wanna rank based in their own definition of "atractiveness", since some people only check the image while others check the charisma and personality, etc. But at the same time, it could be to avoid a negative opinion on their face/body. in conclusion: it's complicated💀

Was thin and fat too. Losing fat when you have motivation, consciousness and determination is quite easy. I lost 25 kg (55 lbs) and went from big belly in a matter of a year to fit with visible six pack (and then back to fat because of Corona). Life as a fatty is a waste of time. When you speak to some women you get to know randomly, they try to avoid you at all cost. This ranges from getting ignored in the first place even to "stop speaking with me, you're harassing me!". Most women don't want to be associated with fat people, exactly like men don't want fat women, but they'll have one in common: because of fear of being judged and spelled out of the community, these narcisists lie into your face. Life as a fit person is by far of better quality. I applied for a new job back then, immidiately got a much better payed job. Girls I spoke to were the first time in my life flirty. It was like a cheat-code for playing the game of life in normal mode instead of "nightmare" and the first months I couldn't believe how many women were suddenly interested in my "personality". Remember: it's not "society" which will f*ck you up if you're fat. It's individuals!

@unnecessaryapostrophe4047 2 жыл бұрын
That's what a lot of activists and just normal fat people in denial don't seem to get. Even if we aren't and were never fat, most people are able to gain excess weight through overeating and lack of exercise. This isn't like race or sex, where it's practically impossible to really ever know the experience of the other. Most people can get fat, and most of us try to avoid or at least manage it for very good reasons.

On a scale of 1-10 on physical attractiveness, Carter is indeed a 2. I know some people think she's a 1, but think for a second. Everything is relative, and there are women who can't even stand due to how morbidly obese they are. Those people are 1. At least Carter can stand on her own feet, and therefore, she's a 2. I was confused at first as well, but i guess he meant your "genetic" number. So let us say you are born as a 5, this is your Constant - things you can't change normally by yourself like hight, voice, face shape, body shape etc. - except you go for more "extrem" surgeries like Nose, Eye(lid), Lips etc. But through altering your variables like - messy/clean appearence (hair, clothing etc) - healthy/unhealthy appearence (being fat or to skinny, looking tired etc) appearence You can actually add or subtract from that base by yourself, like doing sport, eating well (which can influences the skin greatly), getting enough sleep. Or going for naturally pleasing ways of clothing yourself, because there are objective "rules" for things we consider beautiful like complementary colours. At least that's what i got from it.

@@Jaslath ??? What's the the point in bringing up a comedy sitcom as an example? That's all scripted and played by actors. But i'll play along - so Steve actually didn't change his genes at all, he changed his posture, behaviour, way of talking and even way of dressing/styling. Those points have nothing to do with genes, it's still the same actor, he just acts in a different way (which is a variable)
@ne0ns0wl46
@ne0ns0wl46 3 жыл бұрын
But you don't affect your "genetic" number directly - those are your base stats, which are given to you by birth. Posture isn't something you are born with, that's something that you learn to use. You are just using your potential, which is already determined by your "genetic" number. The problem with the numbers analogy is, that it is very one dimensional.

Okay I just wanted to point something out, a fat fetish is (I believe pls do you your own research) the most common fetish so some people might actually find obese people more attractive so that 9 is not that weird as one might think. Some cultures even cater more to fat people just in general.
@medicinemanboxing3222
@medicinemanboxing3222 Жыл бұрын
Most of Those cultures view a woman being fat as a symbol of wealth, or that she comes from a wealthy family (which attracts them for procreation), because the only way the woman could achieve that weight, is through an abundant supply of food (wealth). This is somewhat common in 3rd world, or primitive/tribal cultures, due to the general scarcity of food/abundance .

@@medicinemanboxing3222 You're right about that but that still means it would benefit you to be a fat woman in that country. But since they're rating things on attractiveness I guess the culture part of my argument doesn't stand. I'm African-American. In the African-American community, bigger bodies are more accepted amongst women. African-American men see it as, "juicy", "voluptuous"... Which is fine to have a preference but, it is not fine to encourage or praise someone who is obese. Obese people shouldn't be made to feel good about being unhealthy.... I've seen many scenarios where Afro-American women announce their weight loss journey on social media, only for Afro-American men to discourage it and say things like... "Lose weight? Why would you want to do that! You look good thick! " This explains why in so many interracial relationships between African American men and Caucasian women, the Caucasian woman always seems to be very ....fat. the Caucasian community has incredibly superficial standards. So often obese Caucasian women find themselves attracted to Afro-American men who are more accepting of those bodies

It's been hard to call people fat for a long time. It hurts more to hear a negative thing about something you can change because it's a reflection on your character and propensity for self improvement. Whereas, if you were born with a lazy eye, or a bad hairline, its not the bad to say or hear because everyone knows there's nothing you can do to change it, so it doesn't mean anything about you as a person, it doesn't reflect on who you are on the inside. But if your fat, or unkempt, it feels bad to point out because your basically pointing out personality flaws just as much as your pointing out physical flaws.
