I stagger in the gatherin', possessed by a patter-in that be scatterin'
Over the global, my vocals be travelin', unravelin' my abdomen
It's slime that's babblin' grammatics that are masculine

Nah, best jazz hip hop song of all time is "Rebirth Of Slick (Cool Like Dat)" by Digable Planets stop playin' lol. Then you got tracks like One To Grow On by UMC's kzfaq.info/get/bejne/mcBdib19xMvImKM.html ... Award Tour by ATCQ is a pure Jazz Hip Hop track. This is not best of all time but it is Dope As Fuck tho 4sure
@craigr4763
@craigr4763 2 жыл бұрын
@@meyou5789 Oh c'mon my dude, I ain't playin' lol. I LOVE 'One to Grow On' by UMC's and always have (don't need the link, but thanks anyway). You've mentioned a couple of brilliant tracks, which goes to show how hard it is to pick one! I think the piano riff and vibe of this track is awesome, but I could name a very long list of others. Also, I think there are better songs that qualify from Digable Planets than 'Cool Like Dat', and I LOVE Digable Planets too. If I had to try and pick one song from all of them to cover all bases and present the general vibe, then it's hard to argue against 'Resurrection'. 'Award Tour', I would say, is certainly less of an embodiment of what it means to be a jazz-hop song than the others. Nice talking to another avid hip-hop fan though.

This was exactly the cinematic eyescape of my daily life in Chicago... I remember wanting a Billion Bay jacket like the shorty at 2:05, but was blessed to be the only one with a Billion Baby bubble jacket while everyone else had First Down, and Triple Goose. I love my city. It's made consistent improvements and I'm delighted each time I visit home after moving to the East Coast.

Looking back it's funny how much this music video changed me. A wideeyed suburban kid from SoCal dressing like he was from the city lol. My pants got bigger and my cabby hat was my thing. And I got it all from this video. This is by far my favorite Common track. "Nuthin to Do" was the other gem on this album. Common's tone always held a feeling of nostalgia and longing for the past. Funny, thats exactly how I feel when I listen to this now. Heck, even the way the video was shot and edited influenced my professional video production style. This music video feels almost like b-roll from some unreleased documentary about South Side. It gave it whole different texture and feel. It felt real and approachable. I love this video and song just because of the the mood and tone it creates.

This is probably the best beat I've ever heard and Common rides it so good. I lost the count of the time I heard this, but every listening is like the first. Thanks Common, thanks No I.D., thanks HH, you always there to save my life

Really appreciate this track today more than I did in 94 because New York hip hop was flooding the airwaves with straight Heavy weights like Eric B, Big Daddy Kane and KRS1. I heard this back then and was like Common Sense is alright not knowing 30 plus years later this would be a classic! This track aged gracefully and epitomizes what hip hop used to be.

Look how dense the rhyme pattern is... I can clearly hear the enormous efforts Common had put in the making of this song. Great job.
