Freydis didn’t want the King of Norway to be killed in the fire so she intentionally told him to come up so he would get a better view of the fight.. which was all part of the greater plan

Queen Emma And Godwin story line is so dope

Freydis killing Olaf pissed me off so much.. I usually don't really care about historical inacurracies in the Vikings shows, but this one got me lol. Olaf II Haraldsson was killed at the battle of Stiklestad in 1030 by his own men after he had been a truly horrible king and starved half the country. It would have been such a compelling death for the character if they had just stuck to that. Other than that I really enjoyed this season

I absolutely love both seasons, can wait for season 3

OMG, did anyone else just finish watching Vikings: Valhalla season 2? THAT ENDING THOUGH! I am officially a full-fledged Viking fanatic and I can't wait to see what's in store for season 3. I've been researching all the real history behind the show and trying to predict what's going to happen next. I mean, come on, if you're not watching this show, you're seriously missing out. I loved season 2 and can't wait for the 3rd. I feel like freydis storyline is important, kinda boring but important nonetheless. My favorite scenes have to be of harald and Leif. They are an awesome duo! 👌

I find it ironic that the production kills Olaf in Jomsburg when it was the Jomsvikings that were historical, pagan Olaf's closest allies, going so far as to raid and attack England with Olaf. As a side note, Olaf was canonized because of the large number of miracles that occurred at his gravesites in Norway and at his many shrines. Plural gravesites since with each major examination the incorruptible corpse of the Saint would be moved to a new location. Each movement would enable pilgrims to see and more miracles would occur.

I found myself being absolutely bored by the Freydis storyline. It started out okay in season 1 and became absolute "meh" in season 2.

I thought season 2 was pretty good. The Freydis storyline felt like it had a few plot holes. Not sure how Olaf fast traveled and found Jormundr almost instantly. Not sure what happened to all Harekr’s soldiers/supporters after he is killed. Olaf’s death was disappointing, but already knew he wasn’t that smart. The boat sled gang we’re definitely my favorite storyline

So I wasn't the only one completely uninterested in the Freydis' storyline. Honestly the show should have just been about Harald, his story is by far the most Interesting especially his time as captain of the Varangian guard. We don't see many depictions of the Byzantine empire in media.

Uppsala is a city in my nation Sweden. Happy that we are part of this season. We are the largest and most populated scandinavian nation but we does not get that great name as our Norwegian and Danish brothers because of what they did in England and the founding of Iceland among other stuffs so i can feel a bit jaelaus at them when it comes to our shared viking history. Great that we get a pease in this season anyway.

I read all of the comments where I found most of us got disappointed. season one was outstanding and our fingers were crossed for season 2. everyone was expecting something more from them. But they didnt count our pulse. There was no action, No drama, nothing. We saw fready as a strong women in season one and we were expecting she will become more powerful in season 2. But we found a worst presentation of fready. Harald and leif was outstanding in season 1. but in season two, they end it all in a ship where nothing was exceptional. In season 2, only Elena and the blind man was impressive their but they were not enough to lift up the story. Disappointed.

Reading the comments, maybe I am weird… but I actually liked the season! It felt too short for me I wanted more 🫡🤔😅

After being a huge fan of Vikings, I felt that season 1 of Vikings Valhalla was good but left me wanting more, especially more of Freydis. Well, season 3 achieved that and more. Can't wait to see season 3 in a couple of years.

Enjoyed this season as well as the first one. I thought Queen Emma was lowdown in this season.

I found it interesting that there were no big battle scenes, it was a relatively war free season. Wish they had shown king Kanuts battles abroad, just me though

I’m so happy they finally break the “trio” and give Harald his true destiny, I was looking forward to see hus journey to Constantinople! His story is so amazing and interesting that doesn’t need at all Freydis. I can’t stand her character, it just a forced addition of a “strong female character” that can equipment men force, when it’s just unnecessary, and it was show with all the other girls they added this season Mariam a scientist, the slave girls who are very brave, Elena inteligent. Loved her chemistry with Harald too! Hope they develope more of them!

Had a great time watching S2. Fave part is when Leif broke his promise to Freydis and spilled the beans to Harald about her being with child. Hoping for a Harald-Freydis reunion in S3.. I hate the brewing romance between Harald and Elena although it was Freydis in the first place who made it clear that they are on different paths.. I'm a history buff but I like the Harald-Freydis fictional lovestory. Looking forward to Season 3 😍✨️

I live near the presumed,but not proven battle site of Stiklestad in central norway. We have a outdoor stage play about Olav and his army right before his last battle each year. Harekr was one of the commanders of the peasant army who revolted against Olaf in the battle of stiklestad in 1030. Six years later when visiting king Magnus Olavsson I ,also known as Magnus the Good (the son of Olaf Haraldsson) in Trondheim, he was killed by an axe in 1036 by rival chieftain Åsmund Grankjellsson, and thus the former king's son got his revenge.

I loved this series during season 1 I fell in love with geenlander and his team. It hurts so much to see Greenlander close friends die alround him!

Maybe I got it wrong, but I was under the impression that Gytha was the one who set up the assignation attempt on the Queen so she could marry Godwin. When the Queen found her crying after the engagement announcement, she said something along the lines of how happy she was because Godwins greatest wish was to father Kings and he could never do that with his other fiancé but could do it with her and the Queen looked shocked. Am I crazy?

I have Christened it “Yawnhalla” . It would actually be more interesting if they stuck to the history rather than these daft flights of fancy

Given that this is early medieval (Viking) History mixed with Movie Fantasies I liked "Valhalla" a lot so far. While S01 got straight to the point of what is to be expected in terms of the good ol' Viking Way of raiding - which was a good thing no matter what - S02 got more emotional depth and nice character & story development, always relatable, not corny or full of pathos like the final season(s) of "Vikings" tbh., which I found way over the top at times...noticed that a lot of women were directing and screenwriting throughout the show which might give it another touch as well , a touch that some may dislike :D...D'oh!

History Channel "Viking Series" (part one of the Viking Saga). Netflix's "The Last Kingdom" (part two) and Netflix's "Vikings Valhalla" (part three). All awsome series to be enjoyed in chronological order.

I'm mad Canute fell for the setup. I thought he would see thorough Godwins schemes.

This new for honor storyline is dope

There were some really silly scenes in season 2; i.e. the boat going over the falls for instance, but over all a reasonable season, though not as good as season 1. The Godwin/Emma plot line was good though.

After this season I’m 99.9% sure they will make Leaf the unnamed Viking on the bridge. If they have him stay with Harold the whole time then he won’t die on the bridge but be captured and released and go to the America’s after. I’m thinking they might split leaf and Harold up soon and have Harold do his thing with the Byzantines and leaf use the knowledge in that house to go to the Americas. They will both become fast friends with the Native people of each land and try to have a life (something bad will happen to Jormsborg and Freydis will lead the faithful to the America’s with Leaf) but fate will intervene and lead them back together were Leaf will help Harold become king of Norway. Then off to England to claim Cnuts Empire or something lol. Freydis will die in the America’s probably killed by native Americans because a Viking did something stupid and caused a war she will be the last of her followers to die finally ending the pagan ways in any meaningful capacity at least. I could also she her living and integrating with the native people and teaching them her ways though.

Season 2 is a love story and journey. Not a war and gore. The Plot Twist final story Harald and Elena is awesome. The power of beauty. And cheating.

I thought season 2 was better than season 1. Plot, pacing, character arcs, fights, new characters, all were better than s1, and I enjoyed them both. Looking fwd to s3, I believe they already shot it, so it might drop in 2023 sometime!

Probably one of the best series running presently. Valhalla is better than the original and I see big things in their future. Hopefully they don’t take to much liberty with the sagas and stay faithful to history as much as possible.

The second season had tons of errors, and as people in the commets are saying, apparently all men are bad and women are good, let me show all the errors in the second season *SPOILERS* 1- the slave owner didn't act like a slave owner at all(he never kept the women on the line in the exception if they tried to rebel), and his death was pathetic, not only that but harald and leif allowed the slaves to kill him even tho he was the owner of the ship, let's not forget that vikings are also slave owners and they should have stopped it. 2-the death of the evil father(idk his name) in new upsala was extremely forced, all citizens started to throw stones at him in the open and when the camera was zooming out there were no stones in the ground??? where were they getting the stones from? also all of a sudden he is a one dimensional evil man after the 3rd episode, no reason for that and it's never explained. 3- when the boat was falling on the waterfall, none of them were tied to the ship, and holding into a heavy object in a 100-200M fall is certain death, all of them should have flied to the front of the ship and instakilled from the impact if the producers knew what physics meant. And ohhh the ending... 4- When Olaf is about to enter the city he should have noticed that the towers were empty and retreated right there and then, he did way bigger raids on season 1 and he was way smarter on the previous season, suddenly he is dumb and just goes "eeeehhhh i will continue the invasion even though their defenses are really suspicious lmao" 5- Christians bad, there is a whole scene of both freydis and olaf praying to their gods but only one of them has a flawless win in the end 6-When olaf fought against freydis, Olaf fought extremely well and with proficiency against her, he managed to stun and disarm her but all of a sudden the writers said "uuhhhh it's time for him to die now i guess? i mean, men bad, and he is a christian man!" and he starts to attack her relentlessly without any fighting stance at all without even seeing where he is trying to hit, and all of a sudden freydis impales him with a spear in a manner that made me say "WHAT? THAT'S IMPOSSIBLE" she was tired and did a side attack with a spear on olaf and managed to fucking penetrate his entire body with one fucking move? at worst, she would have managed to give him a large laceration, that fight was plain bullshit 7- This point is unnecessary but i have to say it, the oil in the water would only burn things in the surface, meaning that people who jumped from the boats would have survived and managed to get to the land if they swimmed a little bit, the city was empty and could have easily been taken over lmao, but yea, all 50-80 christian men that were on olaf's army died instantly, end of story. And again, no women died in battle against men, christians takes the L the entire time and all men are bad and cold calculists, and the ones who aren't are fully dependent on women.

Season needs to be at least 16 episodes like the original vikings
