Hi Thanks so much this video matched my situation perfectly. I purchased an overgrown snake plant with intentions on dividing it into two plants, much to my surprise the root system was massive. You gave me the info I needed, I now have two lovely healthy potted Snake plants!!!

Someone gave me one of these plants. It is about ten feet tall and in a huge pot. I intend to break it down like shown here into many plants but I also want to lop most of the leaf off. It is much too tall. Is there anything I should be mindful about when removing the leave So?

You can buy one large plant you feel can be divided an make other plants. Instead of keeping one large plant.

foam chunks at the bottom perches the water. I have a millii firecracker I have to water and water because I did that. Maybe your parameters are a little different.

I need help. Is there something I can use for fungus nats on my snake plant. There’s also leaves that are brown on the edges and some that have a hole. Do I cut these off?

stockinettestitch most plants recover easily from root damage. I almost always divide a plant after purchasing. Never had one die from it.

+523panda you can but you wont have the yellow edges on the new growth. if you want to keep the yellow, just do it this way instead of cutting. :-)

What type of soil is best to use for these plants, indoors?

Well draining soil, either cactus soil or succulent soil. You may make your own mix too.
