Great job on the video! I have a small business that I started after having an idea that worked really well to convert my Chevrolet factory original floor shifter detent to function as a slap shifter. It's the horseshoe shifter that was factory installed in '68-'72 in Chevelles, El Caminos, Camaros, 3 years of Monte Carlos and 2 years of Impalas. I just slap it from 1-2, and then do the same again for the 2-3 shift. There are positive stops at 2 and 3. I have a neutral lockout that requires me to squeeze the handle in order to shift to Neutral. It works so well that I got a patent on my design features. I have a local friend that has a Pro Stick and he told me he has accidentally shifted from 2-Neutral during a race because he didn't get a solid grip on the trigger and pull it completely back before shoving forward from 2nd. He recently brought me the shifter to study and work with. The construction of the shifter is excellent. This video shows the improvement I was able to make. It now works like my own shifter. Awesome car! I'm still in the process of going through your videos, as I have a 3rd Gen also. I really want to do my dash like yours and lose 98% of the wires under there. Do you street yours? If so how did you wire all of your "have to have" street stuff? Blinkers, wipers etc. TIA!

I have a wiring question as I am putting one in my 91 bird with the th400! I know how to wire the rev lights and neutral safety switch but what do I do with the two stock thick wires (Tan and purple) and the second cable that attaches to the stock shifter?

hey man i have a question , this shifter works with a 4 speed ? and also i know you might not have the reverse lights wired but if i wanted to use this for a street car would i need a reverse light switch or neutral safety switch of any sort?

Just pulling mine out of the box i had that same question if it would lock itself into 3rd with the trigger pulled. Messing with mine not installed it the shifter doesnt want to "lock" in that gate. Does it seem to work correctly now that its installed?
