This 11,500rpm 120mm Fan is RIDICULOUS!

Here's a short video of my recently-acquired Nidec Servo G1238V48BHZP-95. It's similar to my other G1238 series fan, except that it uses a 3A 48VDC motor which can boost the impeller all the way to 12,000rpm, depending on the model. I got this fan from Elecok.

The thing sounds like a table top saw at low RPM and like a taking off turbo-jet engine at max RPM. 😅

It sounds like a phase-change or flanger sound effect as it ramps up to it's minimum speed. Super cool :)

I mean, it was fairly ridiculous already at the 'lower' rpm, then went ballistic and finished on absolute fruitcake level. They'd need a dedicated UPS for sure!

Astonishingly, fans like this are run in fan trays. A single cabinet can have 12 of them, so that's over 1.5KW in fans alone :D

Not sure if I'm seeing it right, does that fan have an aluminum chassis?

Yep, its common for high speed fans which also need to be highly durable. Delta THD2048HT also has a metal chassis.

Indeed, cast aluminium. I have a few fans with metal frames but the level of finish on the Nidecs is a cut above the rest. It feels like I'm holding a piece of aerospace engineering!
