The 9th Generation Ford F-Series has become the new darling of collectible pickup trucks. It beautifully bridges the gap between too old to be used as a truck or driven daily to too new to spark interest. It has classic lines, but underpinnings from the early 1980s. Power comes from an easy-to-maintain and easy-to-modify pushrod V8, coupled to a smooth riding chassis and enough pep to get the job done. This Eddie Bauer version was a harbinger of the luxury pickup trucks to come, as more and more people began to use trucks as the family car or personal driver. In many ways, this is the perfect collectible truck still fresh enough to really drive and enjoy.

1995 still seems to be the recent past. I did not realize how many changes there are to the Ford truck from then to today. I bought a ranger back in 95. They were beautiful back then. Such a classic look.

That is a beautiful truck. The manual transmission is a great theft deterrent. I don’t think you can even buy an F-150 with manual transmission anymore.

@@garnetmcgahey490 I recently got a 94 F150 with the 300 i6 that was an old man truck. Biggest downside is it's not a manual, people are really wanting a pretty penny for these 9th gens now and manuals especially.

I have a ‘95 XLT almost identical. SWB, 5 speed, 4x4, 302 V8, 95,000 miles. I get a lot of compliments when driving it, it still cleans up very well. One guy in a Hampton Inn parking lot in Yuma AZ recently offered me $20k cash for it. I will never sell it. Bought it slightly used in 1995 with 9000 miles on it. It has been and will continue to be a great truck.

Ahh, absolutely beautiful! I have the exact carbon copy bronco , right down to the same tires. Love it, get stares, smiles, & complements everywhere I go. 195k miles,still going strong. Thank you Bill 😌

Your presentation is excellent, great facts and history mixed in with some fun, weather (which I know is always spot-on since I lived in Naples for many years), bothersome wildlife and the more sarcasm the better. Had a ‘96 2WD Eddie Bauer F150 straight 6 five speed. One of the best vehicles I’ve ever owned. Surprisingly fun to drive with the giant manual stick shift.

Love the OBS F150, nice find! We bought a '94 short-box "big-six" manual this past summer. But it's an XL with a rubber interior that could be hosed down after heavy use.

I bought one real similar to that brand new in 1995.Mine was black with grey rocker panels.I had an automatic transmission and it had a 351 engine.Nice truck brings back memory’s.

Brings back memories of my 89 F150 xl with power group, crank in 15 degrees timing, tune the throttle position sensor and fill the tank with premium and it pulled so hard that the washer fluid would squirt out when doing full throttle pulls even with the 3.08 gears. 😔

I bought my Black '96 F250 XLT 4x4 brand new in '96 and i still have it. 133k and still going strong. I just got a 'Black 95 F150 XLT for free and helped my 17 year old son rebuild it from the frame up. We are 2 parts in the mail away from registering it for his 1st ride. OBS LIFE!

I leased a 1996 Eddie Bauer F150 and they later shipped me an Eddie Bauer gym bag with a shoulder strap. I used that thing for years even after I turned in the truck. I had the inline 6 tractor motor and a five speed and absolutely loved that truck. No tach though, so I was always guessing when I could max out in a particular gear.

I drove one of these trucks for 16 years. We bought it in 95 brand new with the manual transmission. Although ours wasn't an Eddie Bauer edition. So we had bench seats but everything else in the cab was exactly the same. That truck carried a 300 gallon tank for weed killer and then it still had room for 30 to 50 bags of fertilizer and two spreaders. But all it ever needed was regular maintenance. The drive train never gave up and we put serious miles and serious stress on it. As soon as i saw this one i couldn't believe how nice it was and the fact it only has 12 thousand miles on it is amazing.

Those fuel injected 302's were rated at 195hp and 270lb/ft of torque in the mid 1990's trucks. Like you said, not exactly neck snapping power, but they were on par with everything else made around that era.

I had a 1995 one. White on gold extra can. Bought it new and had it for 10 years. Never should have gotten rid of it. In F150 that style, my favorite ran from 92-96. Had a 91 and a 99 also.

Awesome truck! Reminds me of the 91 and 95 F-150's I had - both XLT 4x4 4.9L I6 5 speeds regular cab 8' boxes. Have Dalton fix the shift boot - the top is inverted/tucked in and too high on the stick.

Excellent truck, Bill! There was one snafu though... you said that this was the first Ford pickup with the flush lights in front but that actually started on the previous generation in 1987 when they facelifted the 1980-86 era F150'S front end styling and put a new dash in. This 1994 F150 you featured here was basically an evolution of that styling, combining the flush headlights with a more sculpted silhouette that more closely resembled the aesthetics of the 1980-86 F150, albeit, modernized.

Geez I forget how gorgeous this era of trucks really were. I recently found a 95 bronco somewhat restored with ac and all. I love it because it takes me back in time. The ac still has that signature delicious Ford smell lol. I enjoy driving it more than my newer cars, plus the looks and compliments I get is awesome.

I know about the looks and attention. I just bought a 96 eddie bauer shorty reg cab 5 speed 4x4 and Holy crap I can't even pump gas without some old timer coming up and drooling. It was worth every penny. Just gorgeous. Not as nice as pristine as this one but it still get more attention than 63 split window lol

Yes the CARS is a great group. Can't beat 80's songs. I remember the vent windows. I still smoke lol. When I was in high school I wanted a 1995 or was a 1986 Ford F-150 Super Cab but being in high school I couldn't afford a new one.

There is something uniquely magical about the sound of the door closing on an F Series. The timbre is exceptional! The colour scheme on this is a true classic, looks to be inspired by Royal Doulton tea cups you could buy from Harrods back when it was owned by the British. Did I say "Doulton" - let's hope for Bill's sake Doulton the detailer isn't an animal psychotherapist in his spare time.

I like these old school body style for 1980-1997 F Series! 9th generation Ford F-150 is the best ones for 1992-1997 models! Ford F Series, Bronco & Centurion was the best selling trucks & full size SUV in 1994! 9th gen F-150 was the truck of the year in 1994! This truck is Ford F-150 Eddie Bauer that is only for 1994-1997 model year! 1997 will be the last year of this truck as the 9th gen F Series starting to shrink as 2nd gen Dodge Ram took over as the best selling trucks around the mid 1990's!

The only thing i would say Bill is not right is the sign of BMW , ok this are the colors of bavarian flag but i would say it shows a propeller from a plane. cause for example the old Tante Ju ( english Aunt Ju ) for the old Jumkers 52 with the 3 BMW engines. . But it is not so important who is wrong or right

Bought a surplused San Juan County '95 F150 4wd. It was "City of Oysterbay" yellow, had a 351, and the "Off Road" package that came with the 8.8" Trac-lok rear, swaybars on both axles, and the quad shocks on the front. Put a chrome-trimmed grille & chrome bumpers, Lariat front bench, the Ford Alcoa-style wheels & more aggressive tires. Had it for over 2 years, paid $1251 for it and sold for $4250. Great truck

To everyone who's worried about the temperature being on the O of normal and him blasting it,,,, don't be. I had a 96' Ford A/C service truck that I abused mercilessly for 120000 miles in Houston, hot or cold,, ALL CITY MILES,,, and it still ran great in 99' when we retired it. We had a fleet of them,, 93's-96's and they all had killer A/C. BTW.. The owner had a buddy who was a Dodge dealer so we went all Dodge starting in 1999,, he regretted that decision though I liked mine even though the A/C didn't compare AT ALL...

Nice Ford F-150. I like this one body style A much as the redesigned 1980 model through 1986. The Lincoln Town Car is s nice car, too bad I had an accident in mine the 2nd of October which was a 2006 & paid off September 2019..

i am a Chevy guy through and through. This is the best looking truck Ford ever made. i had a 84 Silverado K10with a 6.2 diesel that I purchased in 88. Three years ago an idiot mechanic ruined the engine and I needed work/farm truck cheap to haul firewood ASAP. And cheap. found a 96 F150 XLT Lariat on FBin town where I work for $1500.00. Originally from Minnesota, rusted all to hell. But the 4x4 works and it does the job.
