i love this game. gotta take advantage of those dirty tricks. they reset every half and you get 2 plus a ref bribe on each side of the ball. also you gotta focus on kills of certain positional groups specifically wide recievers and qbs. if all 3 opponents qbs die you win no matter what the score is, same if all 5 wrs go. it doesnt work as well on rbs because you can just not call run plays when all rbs are dead so focus kill shots on qbs and wrs

Some quick tips. The skeletons heal damage at the end of every turn. Though they are the most fragile. They make good running backs and substitutes because your players will most likely die. The robots and ogre guys are the best for lines off and deff. The demons are good safety and receivers because of their height and ability to fly for a little while they jump. The aliens imo have the best acceleration when they start to run. Rolling into a ball makes them hard to tackle. The werewolves are great blitzes. Save your dirty plays for the 2nd and 4th quarter. And the bribe ref can be abused. After the other team catches on to bribing the ref they will try to kill the ref so he can be replaced. If you call a blitz play or any other defensive play that closes up all your players. You can try to escape with the ref before he gets killed. It will result in the opposing team getting another penalty. They will continue to do this until they kill the ref or bribe the ref themselves if they can. Hope these basic tips get to you. Love the channel

As someone who used to play the Genesis version back in the Jurassic Era, it's so cool to see the franchise return. Here's another vote for dynasty mode.

The announcers are the best part, brother!!!

That was a mistake, turning off the announcer. They can often tell you what to do. Like, say: get your quarterback out of bounds during the QB Attack. Or kill the refs chasing you in the halftime game instead of just running for a chance at a resurrection. Also, the Cardinal Sins are just terrible since they have the worst dirty tricks. That's why they feel underpowered: you have one of the worst teams for that. Don't forget to use those, by the way. And go out of bounds or throw the ball away when the opponent uses theirs. You get one use for each per half.

Dynasty! Dynasty! Okay but seriously, I love playing this game. It takes a little bit of getting used to, especially the dirty plays and the risk of having your players die (I started switching out my starters for the first few plays of each half so they wouldn't die to the dirty play cheese from the computer)

I would like to get this game more for the dynasty mode. It looks like they really spent time on the management aspect. The gameplay doesn't look that great but that's fine.

And it's more fun to play than Madden 22 (admittedly not a high bar...)

The dynasty mode is a little bit insane to start with. Especially on max level. Either a lower difficulty or just playing a season mode for a short series would be fun

Yeah, the Full Metal Mayhem are a super team. They are a team based on a collection of rock stars. Malice Stupor= Alice Cooper, Shreddy Von Hatin=Eddie Van Halen, Ziggy Starburster= Ziggy Stardust AKA David Bowie, and so on.

I got this game, I find it more playable turning off the dirty tricks. Feels more like actual football which some of us expected when we purchased the game.

I've never played this game, but I've got a sense you played it wrong lol. The CPU kept using "killer" moves against you and constantly attacked your team after a play was over while you um... kinda played it out like a normal football simulation game

Play on a lower difficulty and don’t invest in a QB. I always build up my defense and get a stud receiver that I just use power ups to get the ball to. Once I start winning, I build up the running game and invest in linemen. And you gotta use the dirty tricks and learn exactly what they do, it’s a huge part of the game. I’d love to see you give this game a second chance

I played the original on the Sega Genesis! Kudos to me for aging myself...

Now I haven’t watched a second of this yet. But having played the game, and knowing what this channel is about. I can easily say that this is a long time coming!

I have roughly 200 hours in this game on GoG, it's pretty good. Glad to see coverage on it.1st when starting off, I like to go for a CB, WR , and LB. Upgrades to Kicker and Returner for field position. Good vid :) . You can make the opposing forfeit if you destroy their depth chart, especially at QB or it could help you take the lead :). Each Mutant type has their own specials, such as the "skeletons" will heal over time during the game if they aren't murdered. Orcs typically deal more damage with their cheap shots. Having them (The orcs) on the DL is pretty good.

All of you saying this game is awful and looks unfun aren't understanding this game, it takes getting used to and learning how to use the dirty tricks and build a proper team along with starting on a easier difficulty then all pro like Drew did. Don't let this video ruin the fun of this fun game, it's better than madden and is like having blitz the league back but it's more violent and actually has a dynasty

I actually just bought this game. Definitely went with Normal after playing a couple exhibition games.

It's actually a remake of an older game by the same name on genesis and snes. From what I remember the older game was significantly easier.

Full Metal Mayhem is the most OP team in the game, they are based off of rock stars, dead or alive. I once played in a league for this and we had to ban them since their backups are still 80s and 90s which is too OP. Also look in the pause menu to see what each dirty trick does since you didn't use the shotgun button, your players automatically earn XP during the game by making plays kinda like a fantasy scoring system, and abuse that window after a tackle to button mash attacks.
