Pieces allows you to manage code snippets efficiently over time and in teams. They have an app you can use on your computer, but it also works in the tools you already use (code editor, browser, chat app). You can centralize code snippets in Pieces and then use their AI-copilot to chat about code using those code snippets as context.

So this tool is free(for now) but it also integrates copilot that is "not" free. Whats the catch?

I installed on Mac Big Sur 11.7.10 (20G1427) along with the Chrome Extension and neither work. If I open a chrome page and find a snippet, the pieces buttons appear, but when I click Save, it changes to Saving... and never does anything, gets stuck like that. No snippets are in my library. If I try to manually create a snippet: I open the editor, click + Add Snippets, paste my code, and hit Save and it just stays on the create dialog. It doesn't go back to list view and I'm stuck there. I have to quit pieces desktop app and restart it. And once again neither snippet (from the extension or the manual create are in the List). I've restarted my machine, uninstalled, restarted, and reinstalled and the same thing happens every time. Looks like a great tool and looking forward to using it but at the moment I'm dead in the water. @@ByteGrad
