Whoever spends that on a bike is so fucking stupid I don’t care how much money you have. It won’t make you a better rider. There comes a point when the cost to manufacture the best bike hits a ceiling and the 80% remaining of the price is all profit. I’d really like the see the final cost of these supposed $11,000 bikes. I’m willing to bet they cost no more than $2500 to make. And even that’s pushing it.

Just a quick question, can tubless tire be pumped up with a normal pump or do you need special attachments?
@theproscloset11 ай бұрын
Hey Overload! Great question. Long story short, tubeless tires can be pumped with a normal pump. One issue some people run into is getting the bead seated on the rim the first time they pump up the tire after installing. It can be done with a normal pump, but can be difficult sometimes. Once the tire is seated on the bead, you can absolutely use a regular pump to top off the tire to your desired pressure, just like a regular tubed tire!

@theproscloset Alright, thanks. i was just confused because the tubless valvles look different. Thanks for clearing this up.
@theproscloset11 ай бұрын
No problem! There are two different types of valve stems! Presta valves are long and skinny and typically found on higher-end bikes of all kinds. Schrader valves are what are typically found on car tires and on some bikes. Most mid to high quality bike pumps have a way to work with both. Sometimes you need to change the head, but usually come with both options.

@theproscloset11 ай бұрын
We wouldn't classify this as enduro, with a dual crown fork and a very slack geometry. Pretty squarely in the DH category. Weight isn't much of an issue if you're riding lifts!

It is ridiculous to make a downhill bike out of carbon fiber. This material can’t be recycled, it will be trash forever. Probably shipped to a third world country. This carbon-madness has to end, no normal consumer is in need of it and even in competitions you wouldn’t need it if the organizers agreed to just ban it, so nobody has a disadvantage. I hate this trend that people get pushed into buying high tech equipment for their hobby when they would have just the same amount of fun with „normal“ equipment.
@schlingelgen11 ай бұрын
And yes, some companies state that they are recycling these materials, but it’s very complicated and only a fraction of the input materials can really be reused.
@theproscloset11 ай бұрын
It does look like most manufacturers have moved away from carbon DH bikes. Most models on the market today are aluminum.
