I've used it solely for the damage boost here, not really using it to get away from attacks. The I-Frame length is shorter on evade compared to just a regular dodge. You can try Riposte instead of Evade, check out my Bleed playlist for other rapier bleed options : )

Personally i use riposte with the sundering riposte perk on the weapon that gives 30 rend.. it works great if you manage to finish the bleedstacks you have on the opponent while hes stunned

Yep, this would work well except a key part of this build is the Dodge-evade-tondo for max bleed damage. Riposte is usually hard to hit unless you're against hammer/axe/spear (non cancellable animations)

@@SlowBroToe 30% rend works fine also.. why you dont have refreshing distancing throw perk on your hatchet so you can spam it? You also get more rend from rending throw that you should spam like crazy .. that crit chance on the ring is useless also because almost everyone uses 4-5x resilient so 5% thrust damage is better and you can combine that with the new runeglass to pull out 10% more damage. Also i would 100% use emeralds for thrust res because the muskets and bow are your biggest demises because they aim light players..LionAD also made this build and he explains it thoroughly

You don't want any int at all if you aren't running tondo and flourish/finish. All dex, and then con, either 100 or 150 con. could maybe put 50 into Int if you want but just for rapier damage.

@@SlowBroToe should i play flourish and finish without 250 int? Only flourish and finish not tondo. I guess 250 int only for tondo am I wrong?

You should not use int at all if you're going bow. mayyybe 50 int. definitely not 250.

Yessir, Omni directional evade gives 10% (18% if on Weapon) extra damage for 2s , and yes it works with rapier's tondo bleed long term! Crucial to have this on weapon if you want to run the rapier bleed build.

@@SlowBroToe At first I thought this build was likely just a toy but have learned otherwise. I've been leveling my rapier and hatchet at these L50 elites and this is the real deal. I just turned 60 and so I still haven't adjusted my stuff for the big INT load nor do I have the omni d evade (yet) and it's performing very well. I can't tell you how many mobs have died with "wtf???" as their last words. 🤣 Thanks so much for the response.

HAha no problem my friend! To max it out don't forget to get bloodletting on your ring! For the Weapon, get "sacred woodsabre" and you'll find a named drop (not sure where you get it from though, just google it).

No, the omni perk does extra damage on it's own, no need to dodge. If you end up using Opal on your weapon, you want to dodge before applying tondo to make sure your stamina is not full, and there's a rapier perk for 10% more damage if you're under 40% stamina, all of that adds to tondo's bleed damage.

The Gash Ring is from a Tiger in the imperial palace elite zone. Just search on NWDB.com "gash" and you can see where it's from!

IT works fine, but the Brimstone update introduced a bleed over time duration reduction, so that does nerf this build a little bit.

LOVE this question and I'm glad you asked! Solo open world meaning PvE mainly, the Musket is in fact the worst PvE weapon in the game for DPS : (. I'd actually suggest a Rapier/Bow setup if you're interested in it! Mainly build dex (maybe 50 intelligence if you wish, doesn't help bow though). This makes the most sense as a starter setup! If you want to get really spicey, you could run Rapier Hatchet just like i did here, but spec into the Hatchet throwing. IT isn't the best for DPS, but Hatchet is the single best weapon for Solo PvE cause it has health regen and Defy Death. The hatchet throwing skills won't hit as hard if you are building Dex and intelligence for the rapier bleed though!

@@SlowBroToe I see, I can make rapier/bow work. What are your thoughts on the magic weapons, such as rapier/ice; rapier/void; rapier/fire? They seem pretty weak imo, at least for small scale open world.

@@SlowBroToe What weapons are good then for PvE? I tried bow and wasn't really feeling it. I don't mind being weak-ish PvP because my plan was to just run around open world and kill people.

PVE Hatchet is OP, anything with AoE (So Fire gauntlet, Ice OR Hammer and Greatsword/greataxe all good choices). Just pick a class (mage or Melee) and get 2 weapons that work off the same stat you'll be good to go.

For Hatchet against PVE I would siply suggest the entire Left Tree, I don't think you need throwing hatchets to be successful in PvE at all, but it could be fun. For the Rapier in PvE, I would take the entire left tree as well, Maybe you could swap out 1 ability but the left tree does a lot of damage. Evade is also very good for damage as you just light attack+Evade spam those two buttons on mobs.

I'm super excited to find out! Although I'll likely run medium Rapier/Spear first to see, this was by far my favorite bleed build, even though it's less flashy than the build in this video.

What are they changing about light?

A delay after you get hit by melee. If you're in light and melee hits you, you can't sprint for 1.5 seconds AND your dodge roll is shorter if you aren't sprinting. Medium is 1 sec, heavy is 0.5. It was a much needed change for sure.

Haven't tried this build since the patch, I think it'll be interesting with runeglass and heartrunes, but the "desert sunrise" food decreases DoT duration and i believe everyone is using it so that's an overall nerf to this build.

Honestly I don't know! No way to know who's using it, and im running less bleed focused builds (but still with bleeds), so I can't see!

Naw you can use another, but make sure it has omni Evade on it, gives a nice dmg boost of 19% after an evade (works on Tondo) and on Armor it's only a 10% boost.

You CAN but you are sacrificing an absolute ton of potential damage, every time you Evade then tondo, your bleed is doing a lot more damage (you should have omnidirection evade perk, preferably on rapier itself).

Haven't tested it! Made myself a full Bow/Rapier set with the new update, and grinded Lvls for GreatSword a bit. Have not tried this in Brimstone.

No.. you need the perk from the int tree that makes bleed dots 30 longer and combine that with the blood letting from the ring

@alphaZero is correct. This is the single highest Damage potential for Flourish and finish bleed pops. If you want your other abilities and basic attacks to do more damage, yea a better split would be 250 or 300 dex and a little bit of int (50 or 100).

Yes you could do rapier void gauntlet for sure! You will want more than 100 Con though, hatchet lets me get away with only being 100con and light gear. I'd try 250 int 50 dex 200 con if you'd like! You CAN slot a gem in rapier if you want more overall damage, but for the bleed to do the most you really just want opal.

You would not want to use Bow Rapier, this build is meant for your Rapier to do a ton of damage, along with the 250 int perk for 30% longer bleeds! Worth mentioning that that 250int perk will NOT work on things like keenly jagged for bow : ( IT does work on rain of arrows bleed, but still, i'd never run an intelligence bow build.

Yea I got your Invite!! I'm sure FS rapier COULD work, you might want a bit more con though because FS won't keep you alive like Hatchet will. IF you enjoy FS a lot it can be your main source of damage, I would then just use Rapier as your mobility/survivability, so take the entire grace tree and ignore the blood tree.

FoV is maxed out 70, and I usually stay almost all the way zoomer out unless I'm playing range, but sometimes ill zoom in 1 or 2 clicks

It isn't "bad" but I certainly think there are much better weapon pairs for PvE. Hatchet and Great sword or Hatchet and spear for PvE are king.

@@SlowBroToe Well you are dong well man. Yea i tried it last night a bit. Fresh start server so dont have a lot of funds or weapon skills. I will say im glad i pushed getting to 60 cause the game is much better after that. PvP is pretty good as well.
