For as much as it is not worth it at all, having one card that allows you to recur a kind of annoying 3k beat stick whenever a card is destroyed certainly has its appeal.

tldr: old school ygo player loves the interactions between the new stuff and old stuff. wants everyone to enjoy funny card game and hopes youre doing well ngl, i am primarily a "modern" Blue-Eyes player. for me, i have been playing since i was a little kid, and just love the original stuff so much. i love the new stuff too, honestly, but i will admit that its a lot harder to play against for me, in terms of actually winning 😂 but i have a lot of fun playing this game. and i love playing the old school stuff to see the funny interactions it has with new stuff. for example: playing my "stun" Goat deck, going first, normal summoning Banisher of the Light in attack, activating Swords of Revealing Light, Soul Absorbtion, setting Lightforce Sword, and Waboku. this does not change much against a modern deck, but it is kinda funny. thanks for reading ☺ i hope youre having a good day and are doing well in life, friend ❤ (edit:i wrote Banisher of the Radiance at first when i meant Banisher of the Light, my b)

@@erebuskaslana1583 you mistaken solitaire as interaction... stun deck is the only yugioh deck with 2 players interaction... it's the nature of stun deck as they can only do thing in response to thier opponent's action... playing one card that lead to another card and then lead to another card, that isnt interaction, that is single player solitaire which is what most modern yugioh player love but old school yugioh players hate.. interaction between cards and interaction between players arent the same thing.

@@user-yz6fd1yn4l In terms of milling, that's not true at all since they have chaos ruler and zombie vampire turbo. They don't run ishizu cards anyways, because all of them got banned or limited so they can't mill with them anymore.

@@dunkkrunk3368 If you’re running a 60 card deck designed to mill cards you’d be an idiot to not include them, and you’d be an idiot for being surprised your opponent is using them. Tear doesn’t run them because that deck has been nuked in to orbit and so doesn’t have the space to run the shufflers.

Left Hand Offering. You can pitch your hand to search any Spell in your Deck. You generally see it more in weird Egyptian God Decks.

@@FrostReave I hate the whole engine not just the flood gate version, stalling the game via floodgates or insane negate boards that you get to do from drawing a million card from fountain + you're almost guaranteed to draw max c and milling out your opponent is the worst way to win.

@@alaadawood5876 you just said you don't have a problem with floodgates yet used floodgate stalling as one of your arguments as to why the deck is bad. Million negate boards is just Yu-Gi-Oh now and the fact that runick combats this without floodgates as an engine is good design considering its hefty cost in deck building. The decks not even topping outside of the floodgate brew in MD so you can't even argue it's overpowered compared to top decks

DM is not amazing on its own, but its cards are surprisingly versatile in small doses. They've got some Fusion options to work with Branded/Tearlaments, Level 7 makes running a Kashtira package an interesting prospect, focus on a Normal Monster means you can run Tenyis, and the Magicians' Souls package works well with any comp that makes heavy use of Spells and Traps(especially ones with GY effects). The problem is you typically spread yourself thin if you try to make use of all of these at once, so you have to learn to be picky if you want your DM splashes to work. Blue-Eyes is not AS flexible, but you can still do things like run Chaos Max in Ritual/Drytron decks, Rank 8 Turbo/Galaxy-Eyes if you want XYZ plays, and of course Dragons means Dragon Link is a viable option, if less so than the standard build.

Runick is annoying for sure by itself but fur hire spright is the best deck I can think of that uses it while still being a balls to the walls combo fest that can do literally anything. So yes Runick but still cool

I get people playing Dark Magician. It's fine and you can support it with enough staples to make it viable a decent way up the ladder. Why anyone tries to include Blue-Eyes in anything is beyond me.

Not if you play my 50 card variant, hand built and tested for months. It's not PURE DM. Pure DM is fun but not good for ladder climbing. I play branded , despia, blue eyes, DM deck. On an okay hand I can easily play through 3 negates. I don't brick often either. And I don't have to rely on my opponent bricking either. It's consistent but took months of play testing to make it this good. But don't get me wrong, it's not something to use for a 20 win streak, easy grind to masters. It's just the best version of DM I could make . And the synergy is insane. Every card can bounce off another

I will always maintain that dark magician is a pretty good deck and a decent rogue deck. I climbed to gold with it and bottomed out with it and SLAUGHTERED people in the ritual festival. Everything has to go into facilitating the circle/ eternal soul’s combo that you can’t one card combo into it, but you have to go dragon knight because if your backrow’s popped it’s joever.

It's not rogue dude, I love Dark Magician. Maybe in some formats you could have argued it was rogue but now? It's incredibly power crept. Ninjas is rogue. Marincess is rogue. Dark World is rogue. Drytron is rogue. All far more powerful decks with way more gas than Dark Magician. The standards have just gotten too high until Konami finally releases actually relevant support for DM.

Blues eyes, kinda sad. Tcg is not that bad cuz alternative ultimate dragon is a really good boss monster ( not consistent to bring out tho and takes a lot of resources) that’s a non target non destructible 45k beat stick that’s bombing the field when it comes out. This shit isn’t in master duel. So you really struggle to find any end state that you want with blue eyes besides Jet ( actually really good card) and a bunch of beat sticks

I honestly blame konami and the yugioh community for this (mostly Konami). Blue-Eyes has over 100+ cards and most of them are either not searchable or unplayable, every time Blue-Eyes gets support Konami puts no effort at all in making it good but waist no time when its for heroes, synchrons, resonators, salamangreat, and code talkers… I just really don’t get the bias and hate to the deck when we just want Blue-Eyes to be an actual meta strategy that doesn’t get overshadowed by an engine of another archetype that does all the work instead, and before anyone types “uhhh Blue-Eyes won a WCS it doesn’t need to be competitive 🤓” is such a poor excuse when you have a strategy like dragon link that has been running around for years bouncing off formats, won a WCS and its still a good meta deck yet nobody is complaining about it. Blue-Eyes to me and other fellow Blue-Eyes players… is a solid example of what deck building really is, mixing a bunch of different decks together no matter how bad it might be and find new ways to play the deck to reach the tip of being competitive.

That is marketing strategy, if KNM makes BE competitive then of course people'll buy those cards, but if KNM makes them bad many anime enjoyers would still buy them no matter how bad it is cause they don't care about the meta, they just want to collect those cards

@@bdc129 that’s the case in point on why its so weird that Konami hasn’t given it some good support to satisfy all parties. If Blue-Eyes got support that made it competitive people would buy the cards because its a new meta competitive deck and like you pointed out regardless on how good or bad the cards are, anime enjoyers would collect them anyways. Its like waifu archetypes like labyrinth. They give you a bunch of hot waifus with the bonus of it being a powerful deck that can compete competitively and players buy the deck cause it offers both of best worlds, so they can do the same thing with Blue-Eyes though thats in Konamis court sadly…

@@Basswire it absolutely can if they put in the effort to make the deck good, if rikka and dinos have to play a normal monster staple then having 3 vanillas just makes the deck balanced plus you can also just run 2 vanillas instead of 3 to have it less bricky, Konami just doesn’t put in the effort at all to make that possible.

I see that alot people really dislike BE as a deck but I would like to cope here and say that its not as bad, its all about deck construction. It also depends on opponents because lets be real, a surprising amount of yugioh players dont read and watching people tryna destroy Chaos Max is always really funny. Or some people choose not to get rid of the smaller Chaos BE ritual monster despite me summoning it with a vanilla BE. Also, the fusion spell (when using material on the field) can do non targeting destruction, which even I didnt pay attention to at first, but has saved me numerous times. And for the DM players saying they are better, one feather duster w/o the fusion DM to protect the backrow and you immediately scoop, every single time.

@@kenaigreek4955 I dont think that should matter too much. Its not hard to get the ritual spell and monster in hand, but I do see your point. Im not saying its top tier or anything, but BE can win even against some meta decks if the player knows how to think EDIT: Also, that same ritual monster beats DM every single time. They literally have no out for it cuz every monster is either too weak or needs certain conditions to boost DMs attack. And their best card targets to banish, which also doesnt work

This is one of the reasons why I think it never gets good support, the deck is so hated by many that Konami just gives us really bad cards to compensate with legacy support, meanwhile every other deck that used to be unplayable and got insane support and now are top meta decks. The hate is so unnecessary and sad when we just want Blue-Eyes to be an actual meta deck just like any other meta deck.

@@FuMiO02110 you seem to misunderstand what I said… I know already that BE is not a good deck and the problem comes from both Konami and the community. If Konami gave good support for BE and made the deck competitive it would satisfy all parties… new players would buy the structure decks along with the new cards, anime enjoyers that just buy the cards to collect them would still buy them anyways, and it would bring back old players because their favorite deck is actually good! But… since the people that want good support and want the deck to be competitive (myself included), is in the minority, the deck will keep being trash even though it has all the right in the world to become a competitive deck with the likes of all the other meta decks.

foutains not an issue, floodgates are the issue. runick stun doesnt exist without them and if you look at either recent ycs's or the top 100 on the DC in MD there are basically no runick decks beside that. runick spright and runick plunder are dead because people flipped floodgates and nobody has the braincells to put them on the f/l in a bo1 format. playing runicks also costs most of your non-engine and 2-6 ED slots so you know if you blow the board out the chances of getting power-carded out of the game is basically nil.
