11:30 “ we wouldn’t call it a transmission, more like a horsepower transferring system” The projects on this show are kind of take it leave it. But at least they’re different. My problem is stuff like this. Just tell me the specs and continue. For some reason they decided to make the show almost like a talk show. It doesn’t work. Especially when you have lines like that.

Very cool, a third-gen Camaro! I'm currently sorting out my Son's 1992 RS who recently passed away from cancer It has a V6 (which I want for a daily), but the suspension upgrades interest me. I can't wait to see what the suspension mods will be, Thank you for the video.

I have to say since Motor Trend On Demand came out it shows what how good car shows can be. But I have been watching these shows since TNN in 94 or 95. Pat and Mike are the best hosts on this block of shows. Stacey David by far belongs in the HoF.

you can fit 315s squared on these cars without using flares or anything. slight rolling of the fenders and correct backspacing you can fit them.

I had the 88 IROC with the 5.7L. The power was okay but nothing close to the LS & for fun, the intake always cooked off anti-freeze.

No kidding. I was stoked to see the Vortec 305 or 350 swap, which would have been very cool. I already saw this LS built and dynoed on that other show. The actual Vortec 350 is a killer swap for a 305 car.

I never understood why Chevrolet reused so many of the same rpo codes and initials over and over again.... makes these exact situations confusing. is it an "LS" engine?.... technically no because its iron and came out of a pickup it's a vortec 5300 LM engine...... but is it an engine that's almost identical with the aluminum gen 3-4 LS1/2/3/4/6/7/9??.... yes it shares the same architecture. I guess my point is that I can see why they would call it a vortec swap....... but with the old gen 1 engines being called vortec in the spider injection era, and the car being even older than that, and most people considering the LM7 an "LS engine", yeah this isnt what most people tuned in for

We're not the first guys to put a LS in a Camaro. Yeah the General started it in 98. Those ceramic boot Accel plug wires are life savers. My early production 1 7/8" headers on my Trailblazer SS would burn plug wires even with heat boots on them. They're a little more expensive but so is 2 sets of plug wires in 100 miles.

I'm 1 Le Camaro never handled like a bulldozer I don't know what kind of cars the are used to but for the bud they're intended use there are probably 10% of cars that might be able to beat them for twice the price in the handling department

The ls stuff has been done since many times that it's not even cool anymore. Atleast if they hot rodded the small block atleast the car will still be mostly original and will always be cool where the ls will eventually be seen as super outdated and people will want the small block back in it.

I guess "free tools" were a surprise on 3rd gen Camaros. I had a brand new 1984 Z28 I ordered in September 1983. i drove it around for a while and noticed a strange rattle coming from under the hood. After a close inspection one afternoon I found a 12" long, 3/8' drive extension with, I believe a 9mm socket on it, stuck on top of the passenger side exhaust manifold tucked in behind the A.I.R. tubes near the block.

A manual valvebody trans is about just as good as a manual trans for racing. They didn’t just stick a regular auto trans in it

@@mikestoms4015 it is for drag racing but not for Autocross or road racing. The manual valve body just lets you manually hold the gear you desire. It does not however make up for the parasitic loss of a torque converter, the reduction in engine acceleration and deceleration because of 5 quarts of fluid spinning at 6-8k rpm, the increased overall weight of the transmission, or the higher temperatures associated with prolonged high psi levels on fluid to hold it in gear. There is a reason that every major racing series that doesn’t just go in a straight line uses a manual transmission or a dual clutch transmission because they are better when used in an application that requires constant up and down shifting or when help at high rpm for more than 10 seconds. Automatics work fine on the street, but with the shifting speed and the constant reduction in cost of the dual clutch manual transmission are proving the torque converter automatics are a going to be going the way of the dodo bird. The current surge in manual transmission swaps in the aftermarket shows that more and more people appreciate the art of rowing your own gears to get the most out of a vehicle.

The ONE part i'm looking to get, yet not listed or details given when you install it is that Header clearing crossmember! Already have the Stainless headers for my '91 Convertible (hoping to keep built T700-r for the OD) Who do I send my $$ to please? I will assume it to be Holley then...

Take out a 4-speed automatic and put it in a 3-speed automatic makes tons of sense just get a rebuilt 700R4 can handle plenty of power and be lighter and fits in the transmission tunnel perfectly

I still got my 3rd gen RS camaro 305 TBI. I hate the TBI system although it does save me gas but runs like a V-6 instead of a V8. Gonna LS Swap it later. I do miss my old IROC-Z, a bastard ran into me couple years back.

You didn't show the exhaust system being completed .. Nice headers but did you make it a "True Dual Exhaust" One of the most Challenging things to do on a 3rd Gen Camaro.is to have a true dual exhaust because you're not going to funnel 406 HP spent gases through a Y-pipe to a Single 3" pipe.

Wondering if they make those shirt in men's, but not surprised seeing the hair cuts. The old dude couldn't figure out why the other guy was faster. I imagine it was the warmed up tires, or old dude was sleeping at the wheel.

I’m all for modern cars believe me. But you know they’re only original once. And this car is a complete cream puff! Look how clean and pristine this car is! And low mileage given the year! You should’ve left it alone and just concentrated on making it run better that’s all! There’s plenty of other halfway ragged out ITOC-Z Camaros out there y’all could’ve used.
