Ok so, i'm a mexican fan here, been following the Animated franchise since the first shorts and theres some stuff that had to explain that can easily been missunderstood by Saber's video review: 1.- AI Animation is not referenced for "Artificial Inteligence", those are just the creator's initials Alan Ituriel, i mean, it's kinda obvious, just like Walt Disney Animation, or Joey Drew Studios. 2.- He is actually right about a fact: The Animated Pilot was originally animated by a same group of artist who eventually end up working for Vivizie's Spindlerhorse studio for the Helluva Boss series. There was some controversy as they apperently not been properly credited in the pilot episode, making even a fuzz about how any of them had been treated during the production, which it didn't go anywhere cause, apart of the obvious that it's at fault of CN to just not credit everyone involved because that how had always goes with animated TV Productions in the credits, it was only complaints without any evidence or a oficial report of investigation about abuse, mistreatment or been underpaid... So anyway, those folks at the end they would later reach/found Vivzie and the rest is history (for now, cause you know, this is Vivzie who we are talking about and there now stuff "leak" about how they are paid on Helluva in contrast on how others had been paid for Hazbin's series as well). 3.- So as you know (and we known here too) Cartoon Network had been suffered for a lot of nonsense happening with the attempt of fusion with AT&T and recently to what nowadays (for now) is known as the Warner Bros. Discovery with Mr David "Layoffs Everywhere" Zaslav, drowning almost all the CN and Warner Bros Animation proyects... Those first six episoded had been already been done years before it's official release for our HBO Max, and it not even the rest of the first season, there's not explanation whatsoever on what's been happening of CNLA keep Villanous animated series at halt, but it might be possible that this is something related to what had been going around the higherups at burbank, with new administrations and changes of infrastructure, makes sense that there had been shake ups for the CNLA administraction too... Yet, that been said, it's a miracle that Villanous among any other proyects at Latin America had survived this far with those recent changes, and aparently they are now interested in stoping the halt and release those new episodes eventually, i mean, the transition from HBOmax to MAX will already reach at the Latin American Region this february so we at least expect to see those new episode in the rebranded plataform eventually. 4.- Believe it or Not, there's a lot of stuff been presented and released in this franchise, despite the fact that Villanous is property of CN and WBD in multimedia, Alan and his studio had kept the rights to the IP of the series, and so a lot of stuff had been made and release only in Mexico, like books and audiobooks, plushies(?), and alot of stuff that can be found outside of any kind of media. 5.- And that's not all, there's alot of lore and worldbuilding stuff that had been presenting in social media for a while, it's not only with Missheed's Intagram, but also there's another acount from Penumbra (the first original villian presented in the pilot) that features everything that had happend in between the pilot and the other 5 episodes as it follows another perpective of Misshead chasing her until gets hypnotised by Heed, which eventually is been followed by it's been followed by the first web-comic "Rescate Reducido" (Reduced Rescue). And recently there's another one, "Atraco Arriesgado" (Risky Heist?), that follows the story of another 2 original villians commissioned to kidnap Miss Heed and give here a Vendetta for the event of the last 2 episodes, as a bigger conspiracy is been unraveled; i really recomend this one first if you want to know what else had happend to heed afterwards that "mid-season" finale thing, and had a glimps of what will the animated series story will go in the next episodes. 6.- As you are aware, it's not just Heed, but almost with all the original characters both female and males too (especifically a new Original Villian featured in the second webcomic), had that "appeal" on pourpose, despite the franchise is targeted to a children/familiar demografic, they had been too aware that their fans and community are conformed by teenagers and younger adults, and there had been a bunch of teasing artworks sketches and stuff that had been shared by the studio artists in social media, and even some made by alan himself, so yeah, nothing out of ordinary, but if any of you wan't to look out for more of Head outside her instagram, you should follow them too! 😉 And that's it, there's like alot more things but it's better that you find it yourselves, not only because i can't summarize everything you need to now if you want to get in the wagoon, but because i'll would spoil the surprise of interesting thing that you may find too unbelievable to been featured for this particular cartoon franchise.

Fun fact: Alan started as a Newgrounds animator and you can see old villainous animations from back then with even earlier designs of Blackhat.

Before people ask or mention it. The reason characters in this and Hazbin Hotel/ Helluva Boss look similar is not because they are based off each other. But instead, both were inspired by the same things. Invader Zim, and Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy. Same origins, different audiences.

I can't believe Saberspark lost to his impulses and shilled out $50,000 for a Miss Heed music video. How could this have happened? How will we cope?

As a Mexican American, I usually watch media in English, with a few exceptions, and this one is sooo much better in Spanish!!! Its just the jokes and a few words don't traslate well. And I love the voice cast in Spanish! Dr.Flug is voiced by the the Spanish latin James from early pokemon. I love it❤❤

*there’s actually A LOT lore on this show with hidden websites and cryptic messages, mostly about the cults surrounding black hat himself and how he possessed a cultist so he can actually take form physically because his true form is so eldritch (I can talk about how black hat is literally Nyarlathotep from cthulu mythos, there’s a couple references to Azathoth from cthulu mythos too)

fun fact this show has a very deep well constructed ARG that at times can be genuinely scary, that help build the lore without sacrificing budget so is actually important

This show is so underrated. And it's a shame CN completely ignored it. I'm glad someone is finally talking about it. The character and world designs are awesome, it's super action packed, and Black Hat is one of my favorite characters in anything. He reminds me a lot of Alastor, and that's a very good thing.

The English dub is good. But the OG Spanish dub cannot be beaten. Coming from a spanish speaker here, it compels with a lot of usual things we say and even more references to local shows (Ex: Flugg says in an episode “Todo yo, todo yo” which is a reference to a show called “El Chavo del 8”, this is said by the protagonist of the show) Even if it’s a very localized dub to the mexican culture, it’s still very enjoyable ❤️

I can easily imagine Bill Cipher, Black Hat, and Alistor, smiling like maniacs as they always do, drinking tea. While causally talking about how many people they’ve wronged/killed throughout the years. Trying to top each other on who is the most cruel, by swapping stories.

Yes, I remember the controversy when the pilot came out. That SEVERAL animators weren't even CREDITED, and the internet was OUTRAGED. So I was surprised that the series still pushed on, despite all of that.

The way multiple animators are given a specific character is a practice that was mostly used for animated films like Disney or Dreamworks. It's not usually seen in the television division of animation due to the fact that it takes more time because one person is working with one character. But, this style of keeping one person on one character ensures that there is a distinct style and consistency affiliated with one character which could also be part of the character's personality show through the animator in charge.

What Saberspark forgot to say, was that they "leaked" their own first episode in Facebook when it was about to be released and it was spreading fast, only for the episode to cut to an animated rick roll of Villanous characters. That was a funny way of having pirates upload the wrong first episode XD

This show is SO good!!! And Saber isn't even touching in the ARG aspect that the show has! All of the orientation videos had secret messages that led to a web page, where a group of heroes write to one another trying to take down Black Hat Org. We also got information on the heroes and villains associated to each of the episodes in the show. And SO MUCH MORE! A paralel story happening on Penumbra's social media, the books which apparently also had a story to them, the THEORIES!!! SO GOOD, AND SO UNDERRATED. I really hope this video drives more people to watch the show and make Cartoon Network pay attention to it.

Yeah, Villainous is an awesome series. The fact that good ole Markiplier is dubbing this series was such a surprise. I also like how the took full advantage of being a CN cartoon by openly flaunting the other series throughout the season. Overall this show deserves so much more attention. Criminally underrated.

It’s always a shame to me that CN in America never really promoted the show :( another great show in a similar position from CN Latin America is Frankelda’s book of spooks- it’s a stop motion horror anthology and it’s so beautifully animated with fun characters. Def give it a watch!!

Wanted to mention, both because of some comments you made and comments im seeing from users: watching the show and getting full context can be a little difficult but soooo worth the effort. There's a lot of fan made subs of the shorts and orientation videos mentioned by Saber. There's also story arcs in character-run Instagrams. I saw someone else mention the Aldo Maldonado/Podemos bailar ARG, and there's three books with at least 2 more planned to come out! Theres also a comic.The show has a lot more lore and the characters have a lot more depth when you dig into it, and I hope more people end up being able to enjoy it!

Don't forget, Black Hot (Black Hat's super hot and muscular clone) and 505 were both played by Markiplier in the english dub.

Rather than saying Hazbin was inspired by Villainous, I think they're both inspired by the works of Maxwell Atoms: The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy and Evil Con Carne. I genuinely thought Villainous was an Evil Con Carne spinoff the first time I saw it.

I watched an episode a day on Max as SOON as I found out it was finally being released in English officially, and it’s AMAZING! I REALLY hope that they make a Season 2 for this sometime in the next few years, as long as the work conditions are good! And for those that didn’t know (and those that haven’t read some other comments), 5.0.5. and Black Hot are voiced by Markiplier, who has said that he’s proud to have been a part of it and that if there was more, he’d be more than happy to contribute to it more! I also LOVE all the cultural references, like Flug saying “Demencia, I Choose You!” as a reference to one of Ash Ketchum’s famous lines in the Pokémon anime, and the fact Flug’s voice actor, José Macías, also voices James in the Latin American Spanish dub of Pokémon!

Loved how they had Markiplier voice two major Characters: 505 and Black Hot. From what I remember from a Q&A he did, he did a Johnny Bravo impression for Black Hot. And honestly... Considering it was dementia who used the remote to make him, I believe that canonically Black Hot is actually STRONGER than Black Hot. Or at least his equal, and Black Hat will only defeat him by using his desire to make him proud to his advantage. Like using him as a spokes-model for a line of Black Hat Organization workout stuff. Most doesn't work, but I mean he could SAY it works.

Fun fact: The original voice of Demencia is also the LatAm dub voice of Pinkie Pie.

I was always under the impression that Black Hat was the main dude of this show, that’s how they marketed it at least with the shorts, now I’m starting to see it’s Flug whose the hero. Cause even though he’s a villain, the dudes still sympathetic and kind to anyone regardless of his status or there’s. Whilst Black Hat doesn’t care for anyone, makes me wonder how the endgame for this show is gonna go.

Just wanted to note, the bit where they are selling this product "Kit-para-Villanos" at 6:30 is actually a parody to a Mexican toy brand that was very popular in the 90's called "Mi Alegria", it even uses the same font and placement of the brand name from back in the day.

I'm surprised he didn't talk about all of the story and different world building that's outside of the show itself. Like the different secret websites that were supposed to be for this secret organization thats going against blackhat and the whole thing of penumbra's instagram storyline with goldenheart. THAT is where you'll find some of the most story elements of the series. It makes sense to me that the show drifted away from the normal episodic formula though becuase of what I mentioned before. There was never a chance that Villainous was not going to become heavily story driven with all the story and character building happening before the series was even released in Mexico.

watched the Spanish version with subs a couple years ago. gave me an eye opener that CN Mexico was more lax with dialogue censorship in one episode where Demencia ended it with "Viva la Mexico, fu--" before being cut off from swearing

Someone else said it but a Guilty Gear vibe because Dr. Flub reminds me of Faust who is also a doctor with a paper bag over his head.

The fight scene where Dr. Flug fights off Miss Heeds minions goes way too hard. They didn't pull any punches making this series, and I love it. (G-Lo is best girl and I'll take it up in the ring)

There is a ton of content worth checking out that isnt in the show, the shorts and orientation videos had secret messages and there was this whole arg with some really deep lore that I hope makes it into the show There was like this anti black hat organization and you could see memos about some operations I cant really recall, there was info about other villains like penumbra and this whole thing about a dude doing some research on black hat that ended up in a cult and insane Also both penumbra and miss heed had Instagram accounts building a story before the show release

I like how both this show, hazbin hotel AND helluva boss have social media accounts for each character. The difference is that Hazbin Hotel has no reason to have instagram accounts for characters like Lucifer or Charlie, but it's really nice to see them post every now and then just cause we like the show and the artist who made it, while Helluva Boss and Villainous use it to kinda make the shows more immerssive. Villainous uses Miss Heed's instagram account as an actual plot point in the show, it's really interesting to feel like you're in the same universe as them in a way, and i really like how they did it too. Now Helluva Boss shows things like pictures that were shown being taken in the show itself, and then being posted after the episode came out, or seeing a picture of a character after or before the happenings of a specific episode, which you can clearly notice if you watched it. I like that :)

fun fact Dr. flug, in latin american spanish is dubbed by the VA Jose Antonio Macias, a VA very well known for his lengendary off script incertions of mexican jargon into his characters for example he also did the voice of James from team rocket and one of this most legendary lines involved James in a Moltres costume well in the mexican dub James says "SOY MOLTRES EL GUAJOLOTE MACIAS!!!" which means "I AM JAMES THE TURKEY MACIAS!!!" macias because of his last name and turkey becasue when they ask him about it, he said that to him Moltres looked like a big turkey, when weezing would use smog related attacks in the mexican dub james would say "orale weezing usa aliento pozolero" which means "weezing use "pozole breath" for those who don't know pozole is a mexican soup that has corn grains as the base can have pork or chicken meat and seasoned with garlic and onion, so it can leave a nasty breath. The "guajolote macias" scene is so famous you can actually find it in youtube by simply typing "james guajolote..." and the autofill will do the rest.

Really weird that this premiered on Max after how much they smited animation on the platform. Also it’s so cool to see this show get some love it deserved online.

Finally some more recognition for this show! i watched snippets here and there in 2019 but i only really got into the fandom quite recently. One fanfic i really like (on villainous yes) updated yesterday and in authors notes said that this vid came out so im hyped even more now

Oh this is one of THE shows I've been following incredibly closely for years! So happy to see you shine a light on it as well! While we are still in the dark over scheduling and new episodes for it, and have been since it got picked up by CN (unfortunately), there is a plethora of comics and books released for it. The comic focusing on Penumbra and Sunblast is so good and sweet. And there is a strong and dedicated community translating said books and comic in to English as well. I hope we will get some news when it comes to new episodes. Hoping that you covering this amazing show will give it even a little push forward.

I don't think anyone's talked about the ARG side to villainous yet or hidden codes in the introductory videos. Occasionally the screen will 'glitch' and show photographs of people with scribbled faces, and the website has a page you enter a code into to find newspaper articles of dead and missing heroes. There's also deeper layers to the website but I never found out how to get there

If you wanna know more about the lore of Villanous, they have oficial comics and even Instagram accounts of the characters of the show.

I actually watched the Villainous episodes when they came out in 2021, in Spanish, no subs, so I've already been through my Miss Heed phase, so I get what you're going through.

im not sure how i feel about the comparison with vivienne's products, because the series couldn't have a more different concept. about the little visual gags of different cn character, people in latam love that kinda stuff. when villanous came out it made a huge boom mostly because of it. not sure if you were told but when the series was coming out they even did some mystery website where people tried to solve codes and find answers, kinda how gravity falls did back in the day. the mexican animation industry is still developing, i hope villanous gets to bear the fruit of this growth.

GREAT VIDEO I LOVE IT I LOVE VILLAINOUS I'm a fandom dinosaur, been here since day 1 (well... day 2 to be exact) My 2 cents; Miss Heed is overrated, Flug is where it's at💕 I fucking love this show thru and thru with my whole soul and ass since 7 years without a single break, it's my special interest. The lore runs so damn deep and the humor just hits right, which is rare for me. I AGREE SO MUCH WITH YOU ON THE POINT TOWARDS THE END THO. I couldn't express it like that, but yes!!! I'm sorta tired of firstly episodic cartoons turning into melodrama. I just love the silliness more than anything.

I disagree with the "most other CN shows take up a simple background style", shows like Craig of the Creek, Victor and Valentino, Mao Mao and Ivandoe have absolutely beautifully painted backgrounds.

don't forget about the fact that Markiplier voiced 5.0.5 and buff Blackhat in the English version...I feel like that just adds to how awesome of a show this is

It's honestly a shame Villainous initially came out in the early 2010's when the prevailing thought was you needed to get studio support to get an animated show off the ground. If it had come out as a web series 5/6 years later they could have gone the more recent direction like hasbin, murder drones, etc of online release. Because it's clear that CN doesn't really want to push the series so it's in limbo and the situation with mistreatment of animators doesn't help either. But now the rights of the series is probably squarely in CN's hands so they can't go that independent route now.

The fact that so many people came rushing to this video because of the thumbnail is so priceless. I can't stop laughing.

please PLEASE keep an eye out for villainous updates!! I never know where to find them (and i cant speak or understand spanish in the slightest) but i still absolutely LOVE this show and there needs to be more coverage on it! We need more heed!
