My buddy ‪@BassQuest‬ taught me a trick that changed the way I fish a Texas Rigged Worm. In this video I show you how to rig a soft plastic worm so you can fish it in a variety of techniques.

I just squeeze on a split shot in place of the second bobber stop. Works great plus you get a little noise when the tungsten hits the lead split shot

Unless you are fishing a floating soft plastic w a very small hook....your lure does not float up off the bottom....it is a more subtle presentation....but put it in a pool....they don't float. Always love Mikey Ballz!!

Camera looks really good!! I'd add a 3rd bobber stop to back up the 2nd one, and maybe add a bead behind the weight for a little extra clack. Just my 2 cents. Great tip, especially for us kayak guys!

I have started to go more towards the free rig for similar reasons. It works great and once your used to it you can get an idea on how to make it fish more like a Texas rig where the weight stays tighter, or more like a c rig where the bigger rod bumps make the weight jump and slide away making it more of a c rig. But I still don’t feel like anything can ever completely replace the traditional Texas Rig.

Camera looks good. That's been one of my little tricks for a while now. I buy the cheaper bobber stops because they are a little smaller that the sixth sense. Also when you slide it wet your line because if you go to fast you can " burn" your line and make it weak.

I just like to slide my weight up about 10 inches and do the old toothpick trick to peg my weight in place. Doesn't budge at all, even with a 3/4 oz weight. But that toothpick tip comes out really easy when I wanna change out or adjust the length. I fish shallow lakes covered in thick salad on the bottom. Getting that bait up off the bottom is a must. Bass don't eat salad.

I’ve done this procedure for several years now. You can change your fishing style instantly plus it’s one less rod on your deck. Great info.

Started doing something like this a few years ago. I only use a bobber stop behind the weight so once the bait hits the water the lure doesn't drop to the bottom but allows the bait to fall more nautral. The action is awesome with the bait about 1ft from the weight.

Camera looks great… Super clear. I tried this Texas/Carolina trick just this morning and it is bad ass. I did get a little bit of slide so when I switched over to Carolina I tied a knot behind stopper number one “closest to the hook“ after I set it off by 18 inches. Works like a champ

I've been using round toothpicks as stoppers . Push it in from the pointy end of the weight until snug and snap it off flush. To remove the toothpick piece , use a new toothpick and push it out from the big end of the weight.

Great quality and colors from the new camera. Back in the day before bobber stops like these I was putting the line through a clear or red bead twice. On top and bottom. Works great and does not move. Btw: Get the smooth kind at hobby lobby in craft dept.

I cut the nick from the bobber stopper after the palamore knot knowing your going to trim it off with the tag. This saves a bit of leader if your using a leader, when tying the palamore. (That wasn't the case with your setup)

I agree 100% about that owner comment, everyone always talks about gamakatsu but ya rarely hear people mention owner... and dont get me wrong I love gamakatsu but I think owner's stuff is right up there with all the best brands and they don't get the recognition they deserve. Im also a big fan of decoy hooks too.

Here is also a plus to this rig. There a chance if you get hung up that if you break off you could maybe get your weight back. Just lose the hook. Mostly it will break off at the knot. The stopper could keep the weight from falling off.

Instead of the bobber stop you can go with a weight peg and not have the issue of it sliding down the line on you. Then if you want to go back to the normal T-rig just pull the peg. They have soft pegs on tackle warehouse and the other big one I believe it tackle USA or something like that.

I’ve been doing that for years but like a lot of people has commented, the best thing to use the top would be up split shot then a little bead bead for the click noise and put your split shot about 14 inches up and it works great and you don’t need no reflection and I fish Rocky bottoms in a dont get hung up and if it does you’re talking about a hook in a split shot some people get mad when I don’t come up with the simplest ideas good thinking Mikey
