Nerds would revolt if they made blacklisting drivers and enabling iommu via console obsolete. The popular kids are already polluting the waters with nonstop xcpng content.

I'm really glad to see this, that's very promising as I'm tired of using LXC containers when I need to pass the GPU for encoding. But I would probably wait until this lands in the mainline kernel.

Cool video! I am using the Tesla P4 for my ProxMox 8.0.6 which is working great for my VMs. I am using the Resource Mappings in the Datacenter to manage the PCI devices for the VMs.

just built my first proxmox server along with a unraid box for a nas. Probably could have put both on the same machine but since both were the first time for me I wanted to do them as 2 separate devices. I thought I was already subbed but watch u all the time. I would love to see more proxmox or unraid content. Also you used to do a lot of RPI stuff and now RPI 5 is out and available would love to see content around it. Thanks a lot.

Would love to use this but I'm on AMD for the first thing and more importantly - if a minor change issued by Proxmox is going to break it then it's honestly not ready for any use other than on a dedicated machine to do this. The key point to me is - as it's clearly possible, either QEMU or Proxmox (both?) need to get their fingers out and make this part of the core product. It would solve my Jellyfin transcoding gap and general remote GUI usage. And yes, more Proxmox - I moved over after 10 yrs on virtualbox and it's streets ahead - ZFS and HA out of the box - awesome stuff.

I started watching for the Pi Hosted stuff but now I am way more interested in Proxmox. I ended up building a home lab running Proxmox with a Tesla P40 after watching your video about the M40. It has been great for LLMs and I next want to use Frigate with the GPU for home security image recognition.

Nice. I'm using the Tesla P4 for my ProxMox 8.0.6 with Plex. Runs like a champ. The fun part is getting the drivers from Nvidia. Once you have those it's easy to get it all configured and working.

Excellent video, but I'll wait for this to be in the release version. I've been using virtualization for 20 years, but I just started with Proxmox this year, when I needed it to support the i226-V NICs in my new router PC (for pfSense CE). For now, I use Wake-On-LAN to boot a separate PC for GPU support. I still haven't looked into why my pfSense doesn't give network access after a power failure. I always have to reboot the VM.

You can probably make use of the delay power on feature in the VM to give the host server time to get the networking up and running. Under worse case scenario you can run a script to power cycle the VM after rebooting the host. There are so many things that can be scripted in ProxMox.

Would be nice if you could make a tutorial on how to virtualize pfSense. There's videos out there but none worked for me. I just couldn't get the WAN to work.

Si el chipset de tu controladora enthernet no es Intel, seguramente tendras problemas con pfsense. Si es asi tienes 2 opciones. 1º- instalar un paquete de drivers para el chipset de tu ethernet. Si no son Intel suelen ser realtek. 2º-Probar con una tarjeta ethernet con chipset intel y ver si funciona. Si aun asi no funciona, hay muchas posibilidades de que estes haciendo algo mal.

Did you have that MacOs VM on the 11th Gen, or were you abel to get it working on a 12Gen Alderlake N100? I am trying on the latter and at some point during the installation it halts. I think with 12 minutes to go.

As I know there is no required Intel gvd-t linux firmware for 11th and later cpu family.

Does anybody try AMD igpu 610, 680, 780 on Proxmox 8 ? I have 610 on 7745hx and so far best result is reboot of host pc on start of VM.

Wait. My iGPU is on the same IOMMU group as the usb controllers on the CPU. What about other PCIE devices connected via the chipset? They are all on the same IOMMU group as the wifi and on-board ethernet. Historically proxmox forums have said you're shit out of luck when it comes to breaking up IOMMU groupings.

I don't get the problem. I plugged in a nvidia card and passed that pcix device through to my windows gaming vm (Win 10) as well as to my media pc vm (Ubuntu) that I use more often. It just works, so were is the deal here? Is it just about not being able to plug in a dedicated card?

Hey does anybody know of a good easy to set up help desks doctor container? I'm studying for my first job in IT and want to get some hands on time with the help desk ticketing software but most of them seem to be extremely feature-rich which means extremely hard to set up and I just don't feel like all that work just to use it for a half hour 😂😂😂

I spent so much time to fix this issue. I got the same Issue INtel UHG Code 43. Also use the version gfx_win_101.3222_101.2111 and try it also with the newest one. without success. 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-11900H @ 2.50GHz Proxmox 8.1.4 Kernelversion Linux 6.5.11-4-pve helpless
