Put a kill switch to the winch under the hood and carry extra controller batteries. Great video

That’s a good idea. My buddy had a solenoid on his that ended up going bad. So, I’d probably add something substantial that can handle the amps.

@@OffGridAdventure There is a video on KZfaq where a guys wireless winch picked up a signal and his winch started winding in, Bent his fairlead and bumper, needed new rope and fairlead. Freak thing but it can happen.

Please install an under hood winch cut off switch for safety reasons. If you have a front accident or even a roll over that power cable can get pinched between the body panels and with a fuel leak you can find yourself in a very bad situation.

Not trying to be an A-hole but you should probably join a local Jeep club and take some recovery classes. That soft shackle run through that pulley block you have is a no go. Get one that's made for soft shackles.

Honestly, you raise a valid point. The metal could cut through the soft shackle. I saw some donut shaped pulleys that would be more suitable. Also, I’m meeting up with some locals tomorrow night for a Taco Tuesday. So, I’ll check both blocks pretty soon.

Did they let you know that most winches need you to preload them before actual use? I like the Gladiator build.

@@OffGridAdventure Before you go out and USE it for a real recovery, your supposted to un spool the winch to full length on a flat gound and pull your jeep in with it. It makes the rope tight on the spool and you wont get the rope to bind up between the bottom rope when doing a real recovery.

These xrs series are basically the same as the warn evo series save 200$ by buying xbull xrs version 😅

Bro. 13 k winch isn’t needed. If in 2024 it’s what’s needed then why do new jeeps in 2024 come with a 8 k winch?. I am a towing and recovery professional. Learn to use a snatch block and a winch properly. Especially if you are doing a video to sell the winch. Not sure you did that here either. But hey you got a free winch.

@@fishaman7834 oh really ? he did nothing wrong? He forgot the #1 most important thing to do. SET THE WINCH. If I need to explain what that is then you people shouldn’t say a word. Quite simple. See that’s the first thing he did wrong. Anyone see the second?

@@OffGridAdventure ok I guess I need to tell you what #2 problem is. The snatch block you used was not meant to use like you did. , you should use d-rings for that not a soft shackle. The small and sharp edges are gonna destroy the soft shackle.
