I love how when the white skinny girlies are finally the ones that are directly suffering, they choose to boycott revolve. Not the fact that they are not a inclusive brand at all and exclude POC and and plus sized women. It just goes to show that the influencer world is so performative and selfish and it takes something uncomfortable happening to THEM personally to realise a brand is bad.

I wish there was a brand that petite sized people could fit in, that isn't a brand that treats everyone else like crap, even "not conventionally attractive" small people are excluded from these brands. You have to be white, pretty, skinny but with a nice butt and boobs and rich

So Revolve just needed more shuttles and better communication about the buses timetables so people don't have to 'wait in the sun' is what I'm getting from this. I think the unknown creates panic in people, expecially anxious people going to a festival when the lift to the event is out of their hands. So communication is key.

I think it's more than just more shuttles cause any event has a capacity limit, either they over sold past their limit of attendence and didn't care or didn't even take it into account. But I think the number of buses was correct, they just had an overflow of people

An extreme amount of money is spent by people just for the occasion not even including the tickets. But also I’m confused as to how Revolve is responsible for getting people to Coachella or was that something that came with their festival

@@Kay-rl9zw Pre-party/events more often than not have a courtesy vehicle to the main event. Especially if its in the middle of nowhere. Who else do you think would of organised the shuttle from Revolves private event to Coachella? The amount of people coming from Revolve is a small percentage of the overall in attendance and they weren't high profile people. Also Revolves event was independent of Coachella. It comes down to organisation and communication.

Revolve was never really meant to be a festival, it's an influencer networking event. I know there are "real problems" in the world, but to spend a couple thousand trying to get a leg up as an influencer on what you think is an established, well-planned event and not even get let in because the party reached capacity does suck

Tanacon was something I watched go down online, this gives tanacon vibes with less severity because the health of the people in the tanacon line had hit a dangerous point, but the lines for revolve was just approaching potential dangers. Buttttttt if people start talking and escalating the situation by making everyone think they have heat stroke they could create panic in minutes.

I haven't seen it compared to Fyre Festival - the critique I have seen is influencers not receiving what they where promised (like tickets for Coachella) for attending and posting about it. BTW revolve have arranged day parties during Coachella for a number of years and they just have more performers this year than yearlier years

Internet Historian did a great video on the Fyre Festival. It paints a very different picture than the public perception. Most attendees were college students who paid $2500 for flights, accommodation, and the Festival tickets. It wasn't a bunch of rich kids.

I reckon it was time management, like these people have never been on a bus at the wrong time of day. They probably all wanted the same shuttle to the point where the buses were full and they'd have to wait for the next one. And I'm assuming last admission for Coachella is a couple hours before the last act, and these people who weren't let in didn't get the 10am bus and get there at 12pm and get turned away.

Revolve festival has been the same every year. It’s not a festival, it’s just a party. They do them throughout the year for promos of different brands, this one is just the biggest one of the year. Revolve is like a Asos but with more expensive brands, I’m not sure if people know that? My friend a black woman, she went to the party as she works for a brand stocked at Revolve. I don’t really see the comparison?

Ok but usually festivals don't allow people to bring their own water or drinks in though. You bring an empty bottle or Camelbak and you fill it up when you get inside the festival at the water stations. So that's probably why they didn't have water on-hand.

I haven’t started the video but my huge petty gripe with Revolve is that how models are photographed for the clothes on the website is literally an assault on the eyes. They up whatever filter makes any of the skinny white models to make them look absolutely orange against a stark white background and you can’t even get a good visual of the clothes. i had never even heard of their clothing brand but after going on their website i absolutely won’t be buying anything. i couldn’t find any dark skinned models at all after scrolling for around 5 minutes. that’s absolutely a problem, also you’re right about the white girls looking orange!!! their clothes are super basic too 😭

That information you put about Fyre Festival packages being tens of thousands of dollars isn’t entirely true. Internet Historian did a vid about Fyre Festival too, but basically the 250,000 ticket was a myth that got spread around and treated like a real fact. Most tickets were around $1200 which covered housing food and entertainment for about 2 weeks in Bahamas, so it wasn’t this exclusive event for the super rich only

More info about this and "influencer parties" on Meghan Rienks' tiktok if you want to check it out. She was definitely more part of that scene earlier in her career, so she has an insider opinion. I have a hard time really feeling bad for the people waiting in line. It sucks but they have the time and income to do these things so they're always going to be fine in the end. If they get a sunburn they can go to their $2000 LA dermatologist you know?

You should watch Laura Lee's Vlog on her vlog channel about her Coachella weekend. Its her and Manny both going to Revolve and Coachella. She explains a little about everything and how some of what may have happened being "rookie mistakes"

hi angelika! just a little correction! i noticed you said 'POC girls' at one point, but even though this is becoming more common, POC is a noun, not an adjective. it's preferable to just say girls of colour or, in this case, women of colour (WOC) if you wanna go with an abbreviation. understandable mistake tho, not like it's problematic, i just mean this as a reminder, not criticism! x

It sounds like a whole lot of privilege to me… if you go to any festival it’s always going to be a nightmare finding transport to and from the festival. It’s not a new thing especially when it’s an event with 100,000+ going. With revolve festival if your 30mins away from the festival wouldn’t you take that to consideration before getting there?

This is giving me serious Disney World vibes. I've both ridden transport as a guest and driven the buses. It's like that. You wait in line in the heat and get packed on like sardines even when you've paid $15k for your vacation. It's quite challenging to get thousands of people from here to there. Btw 99% of my guests were lovely. I'm sure revolve wasn't properly prepared.

Im local yo the area revolve and Coachella fest were happening in, yea it was a mess, La Quinta is usually 20 ish min away from Coachella, buuuut when you add all of the traffic from the festivals happening it turned into an hour drive

How did they not have data to call or use the app to arrange an Uber? Did they mean they had no service? At least a few networks cover the whole of the state of California. Are they lying? Brands like that aren't even accepting of all 0-2 size people. I'm 4ft 9in so honestly thier jeans are still too long because it's for TALL skinny people. And skinny people with nice butts. Basically rich, white women who are conventionally attractive. A short girl who's average weight, without curves and money aren't welcome either. And then obviously anyone over weight is tossed and most all PoC except maybe they'll pick one or two PoC who are skinny, rich with perfect bodies so they can say "no no look there's a PoC in that picture"
