What i can remember from my experience playing zero 1-4 was that the games had a ranking system that I guess you could say motivated players like me to try and beat the games with the fewest mistakes/deaths, but you'd end up repeating the stages dozens of times because some stupid spike pit at the end, or the boss got you while you were still weak coming into the fight; as shown in the video the boss adds an extra layer of humiliation because you have to redo the whole level if you want a good rank.

Zero was based on Inafune's original design for Megaman X, which was rejected by Capcom, leading to another artist designing X. Inafune decided then that he'd have his original X get all the good scenes until the X series eventually became entirely focused on him and then the Zero series came about after that. The classic series began and was in full swing long before Infaune created Proto-X/Zero so to say the entire franchise was all for Zero is inaccurate.

​@@DragoEpyon I think he meant in the sense of difficult, as mega man zero is easily the hardest platformer saga of the franchise, so the Classic and X series would be a warmup for the final test.

I find him to be really easy if you use the buster, so you aren't getting too close for his attacks. That segment where you have to shoot him out of the darkness really sucks, though, because half the time he's up out of range from any of your attacks, except MAYBE for the charged saber, which brings you in range of his kunai spam.

@Deev J Oh. I assumed it was a different game or a fan remake on account of the soundtrack sounding way nicer than GBA. Is this some sort of mod/remaster?

@@Pixygon I believe this is a version of the Boss theme in Zero 1 you can enable in the legacy collection Though if you want all the Zero games (and ZX games for that matter) with remastered music there is a mod that let's you hear all the remastered Ost from the official albums, if you have an official copy you can just use a mod manager for it, but if you don't you can still do it by just copying and pasting some files around

To be honest, I really don't see anything wrong with using remixes and filter. It's just a preference that person has.

I've seen far worse. His shuriken dodges were fairly on point. Sword dives and kunai not so much, but could be worse.

@@Emberson-9000 to explain this in racing/Mario Kart terms: just because you compare the 10th to the 12th place doesn't make the former reasonable, it's still awful. Or in other terms, (just a bit) better than bad doesn't equal good. And before you argue I consider myself a pro or something, no, in the racing analogy I would be somewhere 3rd to 5th ish.
