So much great advice in this video, but my favorite is how you describe broken colors around minute 12:00. I love the advice that it’s okay to start with clean, naive color until “you find your own sophistication”. Thanks for another great video.

I love what you said about finding more sophisticated colors through mixing. I had heard a lot of tutorials say not to mix too much b/c it takes away from the freshness, but this was a great demonstration on how a good mixture can take your painting to the next level. Loved it!

Experiment is my middle name. I’ve had numerous Korean exchange students. They begin painting almost when the begin the walk, if not sooner. Same with music. There is a wonderful influence and importance placed on the arts!

I so enjoy your relaxed way of painting. Not as in careless as you have a purpose and plan but it is a fun way to learn. It inspires me so much to push my paintings. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.

I always wonder how you make awesomeness from such a messy pallet. Then you explain the " stretching " of your grey. I can hardly wait to try that. You always seem to use muted colors which is so far from what I do and following you gets me out of " kindergarten ".

I love this stretching of the gray. Oil painters call it working with a “mother color” where you have a single large color pile on your palette and then either cool it or warm it down by pushing color into smaller, modified color piles to the side of the main mother color. I’m relatively new to watercolors, anyone know what brush Liron is using in the video? Thanks.

Liron this is a joy to waych. Love your style of painting. Aspire to your skill... Sorry to ask dumb questions, but what paintbrushes were these and sizes? Paints? (please) Thank you !
@LironYan
@LironYan 11 ай бұрын
Not a dumb question! (: I’m using Escoda brushes. Large one is Barroco size 16 Smaller is Perla size 10 These are the plein-air versions of the brushes, but they also come as normal version (non collapsible, made of wood rather than metal)

Why do you prefer watercolor and not acrylics, gouache, or oil? Is it the wet on wet look? Watercolor seems very difficult.
@LironYan

It’s the flow and speed of changing things. I tried so many other media and non came close to watercolor. Watercolor just clicked perfectly with who I am 😁
