Imagine being there and seeing/hearing that. Just straight up busking with no production and no auto tune, but sounding better than a lot of popular artists.

My most 'painful' Ren song is Crutch Ft. Bibi (Bibi was his girl-friend at the time (Bibi Lea-Ding an awesome tattoo artist and singer). This is what Ren wrote about shooting this film: "This was shot with no budget at the end of a frickin ' freezing October, felt like I was going to get hypothermia lying on cold slate for a few hours, serious case of mind over matter but so happy with how it turned out. The song came about after a nervous breakdown following lots of visits to emergency room after some scary health problems with Lyme Disease. It's a song for anybody who has faced any kind of mental challenges, depression, anxiety, or health struggles while in a relationship and all the fears that come along for the ride with that. It is also a song for the courageous and wonderful people who support their other halves, family or friends during times of crisis. In whatever context I hope my music can help take some of the weight from anyone suffering and help people feel less alone." @@DonVon YES! "Lose It All", you can hear the pain in Sam's voice in that one, but please do the Live version with just Sam and a grand piano in an empty Wearhouse. His voice in the striped down live video with just the piano is incredible.... I mean STUPID GOOD 😜😍.

Fun fact about ren: he learnt to beatbox before he started rapping, and his flow comes out of that rhythmic background; using his words as the high hat, snare, and kickdrum, with the tone and emphasis pushing each beat. It's why his flow is so fucking good. (If you haven't already, BTW, check out chalk outlines live with chinchilla. Or if you want some more chinchilla in your life, either Little Girl Gone, or Fingers (live). She's incredible.)

They have both been through some stuff. I’m really glad to see them both having success doing what they clearly love. Also, be careful what you wish for. Sam’s solo work will break your face. Pain and emotion is his wheelhouse.

I think Sam does his music at an incredibly high level. I agree on the layers for Ren tho, I spend 4 minutes listening to a Sam song, I spend a month listening to everything Ren has ever done 😂
