In this video how you the stabilize motion effect that constantly impresses my video production clients and gets my paying jobs as a videographer! You can do this very simply inside of Adobe After Effects CC, and after watching how to do it in this tutorial, you’ll be able to execute this effect even if you’re a beginner video editor.
I recently used this stabilize motion technique in a basketball highlight video that I made for a freelance videography client of mine. After seeing how popular this effect was each time I used it in my work, I decided that it would make a good topic for a simple video editing KZfaq tutorial.
If you liked this tutorial, then please consider subscribing to my channel! I post videography and video editing tutorials, VFX breakdowns, and other educational content around sports videography and work as a freelance videographer and video editor.

Glad you liked it! If I don’t intend on doing a ton in after effects then I’ll usually use dynamic link to bring certain clips in but if I know that I want to do a lot then I’ll export from premiere and bring the whole video into after effects in a separate project.

You mentioned that adding too many keyframes can mess up the tracking. I keep running into this problem, but I'm following your instructions exactly. I'm tracking a player's eye which really works, but playback is jumpy. Any idea what I could be doing wrong? And thank you for this tutorial! Super easy to understand!
@petersarellas

It’s possible that your clip has movement in it in one direction and your position keyframes are moving the clip in the opposite direction and making the footage look jerky. I’d try moving around where on my timeline the keyframes are and get a look you like through trial and error

thanks for the tutorial, Im not sure why but AE isnt letting me click and move the small tracking points like you did when you made it into a "curve" at 4:10. When I click those points it does nothing and I cant move them. ANy clue what IM doing wrong?
@petersarellas
@petersarellas 2 жыл бұрын
It would depend on a few things but if it helps I’m not actually curving a line, at that point in the video I was just moving one track point that happened to form a curve with the track point before and after it, and you can move a track point by clicking on it and dragging (it may be helpful to go back to that point on the timeline to make sure you’re moving the correct track point)

If the only purpose for your footage is Instagram reels and you’re confident that you can keep your subject within the frame when shooting vertically then you can. I usually don’t because I like to also have the option to also use the footage on platforms with widescreen video like KZfaq and it’s easier to keep the subject in the frame when filming horizontally.
