You dont need a high tier scanner you just a laptop and a right adaptor and the right software:)

I have this and iOS, what app could I use to check the modules for tampered mileage data? In your video you used OBDeleven but you need a special reader for that software. Is there anything that would work with this one?

Have you seen anything about the obd scanner lx compared to mx+?

LX doesn't support iOS, so only Android and Windows.

Been trying to figure out the best all around scanner. The thinkdiag grabbed my interest till i saw a yearly fee. Another video you said the xtool a30d. They seem to have an a30m now. A bit more. A30d is 135 right now A30m is 170 right now Mx+ is 140 right now. The a30m im leaning towards the most. Seems to do more and new to market so likely be up to date longer. Anything im missing or thinks i should consider. Thank you. Your videos helped me narrow down alot of the scanners.

Hello I recommended xTool A30 as alternative to Thinkdiag2 with less functionality but with free lifetime updates. However Thinkdiag2 still work on some level after subscription is over and I will explore what can you do after the subscription is over and make a video soon since I thought it would stop working completely.

@iamcarhacker hmm. I thought I saw something saying thinkdiag had to connect to the internet to work so I figured they would just block you from using it. But if I could just pay for a single subscription every few years to update that wouldn't be to bad. Saw one review saying the a30m was very slow to connect. But no one else seemed to mention that. What kind of connection times have you noticed or have you messed with the a30 tool yet. Watched most of your diag tool videos and only noticed you mention the a30 1 time.

@@johncollinsgrove1750 Yes that is because I didn't have the tool for longer time I just used it at friends garage for few minutes to check it out but he doesnt have it anymore so I need to buy it first to make detailed video.

thank you sir for this well descriptive break down.. I wasnt sure if I wanted to spend 140.00 bucks on this but you have convinced me otherwise! And its the most recommended adapter by the Forscan people which is the proper software i need for my 7.3L Diesel Power stroke ! Unless maybe you know if I buy the forscan ob2 adapter to usb for laptop plug in, Can I add a usb to usb-c adapter to that to run it wired into my ipad do you know if that will work?

it doesnt work lol oh well at least the laptop version was only 30 bucks so ill just keep it incase i ever buy another laptop ill have 2 options then! @@iamcarhacker
